  1. Thanks Kittycat....I think my hubby is more worried about me than I am, he hates it when I can't keep things down and worries and that stesses me out too! I shouldn't complain, at least he cares enough to worry and is very supportive.
  2. Jacque, STEP OFF THE SCALE!!!! Don't weigh yourself more than once a week or it will beat you up! It may take you a while for your body to catch up with the changes that you are making. It sounds as though you are doing everything right, but just don't gauge your progress by what others are doing. Some people lose weight easier than others and you can't judge your weight loss progress on what others are doing. Hang in there and success will come to you.
  3. Thanks Lisa, the onion soup sound really good to me right now, it is my favorite anyway. My stress is a new kid in the home that are very, very hyper (I do foster care), school is out now so they are home all day long! My husband gives me a break when he gets home, but then I go out and I don't get home until the wee hours and my day starts about 5 am! I haven't been able to get to the gym for my swimming either, because I have to keep this kid in sight at all times.....It will take a few weeks to get his medications adjusted!
  4. I had my Zoom whitening done after my fill and it wasn't that bad, but my teeth were very sensitive for about a week and I had to use Tylenol or Motrin for this. I am glad that I waited until my fill appointment to have it done as it was sort of uncomfortable sitting in that chair for that long a time. I am happy with the results, but they don't look as white as when they were first done and you have to avoid things that stain the teeth for a while after it is done, which I wouldn't do with just being allowed liquids, that would mean no tea or crystal light!
  5. I have been really stressed this week and I feel like my band has slammed shut!!! I have so much problem keeping food down, but liquids are fine. This has been going on for about a week now and I know it is stress related. Any ideas on foods that would be easy to keep down? I am already taking protein supplements because I can't keep meat down no matter how much I chew. Same with salads. I really don't care for soups.....I am trying to get the stress under control, but it is so hard!!! Last week I was worried that I needed another fill, and now I can hardly keep anything down.
  6. Paula, Try some of the EAS Protein powder when you are feeling hungry....you can mix it in some skim milk or yogurt, I even mixed it in coffee this morning and it keeps me full feeling for hours! They have vanilla or chocolate flavored. It was actually pretty good in the coffee, tasted like my vanilla creamer! Want to try the chocolate flavor the next time.
  7. I have been gone a few days and missed this, I would have explained to that ignorant lady how my diabetes is in remission, my High Blood Pressure is gone and my Acid Reflux is history and I can now exercise because I don't hurt in all of my joints from the excess weight!!! Therefore I think that the band has prolonged my life and my health....Thank You Band!!!
  8. Whoo-hoo, what a huge weight off your chest!!! Bet it feels great. I haven't noticed my boulders going down in size, just floppier!
  9. Oh Paula, that is just awful, you poor thing! Hugs to you, you need them right now. I have never heard of anything like that.
  10. Just a thought.....Some pills take a while to dissolve and while we have restriction the pills don't dissolve in the stomach, but in the pouch or higher, could the pills be irritating your throat? I sometimes can "taste" my pills when they don't pass through right away. My Doctor here told me that he didn't want me to take high doses of Ibuprofen for my back pain because of this, but to just take it sparingly if I needed it.
  11. I miss my diet pepsi, but I guess now I can have it! No, I am not going back to my old ways. I will pass on the carbonated beverages......AM/PM has a non carbonated beverage in their foutain area and it is calorie free and really good, cranberry flavored! My new favorite!
  12. Thanks for explaining who TOM is, I kept re-reading and re-reading thinking I had missed something! LOL!
  13. It is so frustrating to find your sweet spot. It does take time however. I just put it in my mind that it will take 2 years to get to my goal weight....this is actually realistic with lap band.....not like the bypass where they lose it so quickly. Be patient and keep working at it and it will happen. You may not be losing on the scale...I am not right now, but I am losing inches....my clothes are falling off. It is so hard because we want to see instant results and get frustrated, but the reality of the situation is that we didn't get in this situation overnight and it won't go away overnight either.
  14. I guess now I will have to go out and buy my "goal dress"!
  15. I have told everyone around me and use the band as teaching tool! I like to educate people that are ignorant and spread the word about the lapband and how it has changed my life. I have recieved nothing but total support from everyone, which is surprising. It depends a lot on your circle of friends and family I guess, but I am a very open person and have nothing to hide. I am proud of my band and what it has done for me so far and will shout it from the rooftops!
  16. Paula, I haven't heard of this before. I had a really bad Bronchitis/Pneumonia for about 2 months this spring, but it didn't seem to affect my band at all. I always get really bad URI's and hope this is not the case! I will keep watching to see what others report on this subject.
  17. I notice that I have problems with my band being too tight when I am stressed. I have talked to a lot of people and this is one of the things that affect the band. I don't think that we can totally avoid stress in our lives, but it does help to be aware of what it does to our body. I exercise to relieve excess stress and it helps a lot.
  18. You might want to check with your pharmacist on that one. They will know.
  19. I loved the baby hedgehogs.....they will be missed!
  20. How about Malt o Meal? That is a little different than oatmeal, more creamy, less lumpy. I love my oatmeal, but I can't do the apples, they get stuck. I tried grits, but thought it was like eating wallpaper paste!
  21. Your dream sounds really yummy! Can I have some????
  22. Jamie, I would wait until you can have solids before attempting peanut butter. Also I only crushed my pills until I started eating solid food, have had no problems with taking regular medications now. Milk is a liquid, so you should be fine to have that now, just watch for constipation!
  23. Hope to see you at the next get together!
