  1. Destinie, It is so good to see you taking control of your life. Don't let other people get you down. Hope things go well with your Dr. and that you can be a success story. Hopefully this will be a new start to an exciting new life for you. I wish that I had that option when I was young.
  2. Congratulations! You are doing great, keep it up
  3. Don't beat yourself up over starting your foods early, a lot of us couldn't wait, including me......I had to eat Christmas Dinner! So I was 2 days early. Hope your Doggie is feeling better. I lost my 2 golden retrievers last year and am still grieving (Cancer and old age). Just give your dog TLC and a good quality of life. Donna
  4. Milk????? I crave veggies, and fruit, maybe cause it is looking good in the grocery store right now. I used to be a meat, potatoes and bread girl!
  5. Just an idea......was thinking that if OCC was involved they could have a "fill-party" and offer a discounted fill price for those that want it on that weekend, maybe a special.....it would have to be in San Diego though....but since we would be down there....would be nice to have something available.
  6. Isn't that the worst feeling???? Somedays I have a hard time with chicken, sometimes not, but dry chicken is the worst. I have found the wings are nice and tender and small enough that I have to take my time with them.
  7. I also have a pretty tight fill and it takes me forever to eat.....or else I can't keep it down. Most times I find myself "picking" at my food. I have switched to 4-5 very small meals a day. I am also diabetic, so this is necessary to keep my sugar levels even. One of my meals is a protein shake, which I need to get in my protein for the day. This is usually very filling and keeps me full for hours.
  8. Well, congratulations and glad that you are doing so well, I am envious of you laying around the pool. Yeah they have some hotties down there for Docs!
  9. Hi Nellie, I am a few hours away in Bremerton, WA. You are in very good hands with OCC. I had my surgery in December and am down 50 pounds so far. I had one of my kids go down with me, but it would have been no problem going it alone. I met a lot of really nice people there and you are off to a great start on the forum here. Welcome to the group!
  10. Congratulations Michelle! Be Proud and do the happy dance!
  11. I used to be a member of the "Clean Plate Club", but it takes a while to clear your head of that old mentality. I still feel a smidgen of guilt leaving food on my plate, but I use a really small plate now and I am proud of myself if I don't clean it. I went and bought myself "special" small plates and small kid sized utensils too, but still remember my Mom saying "there are starving children in other countries that are dying for what you are leaving" and that is still in my mind. Makes me feel guilty....old habits are so hard to break especially when they have been imbedded in your brain since childhood!
  12. I have been to Docs that have told me that my sinus infection was caused by my weight, as well as anything else I went in there for!!! Docs can be very cruel and insensitive (my experience). You have lost a lot of weight already and keep that in your mind. See another Doc about the hip problem, that is real and most likely from your bike accident. Weight is an easy excuse for any doctor to use when they don't know what is causing something. Keep on trying and hopefully the third fill will do something to kickstart losing again. My second fill did that, for a short time and then I got on the scale this morning and gained 3 pounds....I am doing everything right.....hopefully just water, but will check it again in a few days. Hang in there and I hope your hip starts feeling better.
  13. Everyone is different and can tolerate different things. I have the most difficulty with dry chicken, and steak.....some days I can eat it, some I can't. You have to learn by trial and error.
  14. Can't feel the band at all, just the port
  15. Glad to hear that they are going to fix it for you. We have the best Doctors available! YAY!
  16. I had my first fill mid January and knew it wasn't doing anything in February but waited (didn't lose anything and started gaining a bit) and finally got the second fill and started losing right away and feel satisfied. The first one just didn't seem to do anything to my appetite....so it took the second one to get to where I feel it is working. Wish I hadn't waited so long, but didn't know any better.
  17. The nurses at Arlington Pharmacy are wonderful, I had them do it when they traveled to Port Orchard and really was happy with the results and the information I got from them. I will use them in the future when I can't make it to TJ.
  18. Paula, Today is a new day, hop back on the band wagon!
  19. Yay! Kimmie! Glad you got good restiction with your first fill, took me to my 2nd fill, but now I am doing good too, went to Famous Dave's BBQ for Mother's day and could only eat 2 ribs, and I was stuffed! The old me used to eat a whole rack plus all the sides! It works, it really works!
  20. Alana, Thanks for the update. Welcome to Bandland! You will have a few tough weeks ahead of you, but stay in touch with the forum to help you through the rough spots.
  21. I would definitely talk with Dr. Miranda, Sounds like you are building some muscle mass and that is heavier than the fat. This will all even out eventually, but very frustrating nonetheless. It just makes things alot easier for the Doc's during surgery to have that weight loss........picture fat clogging the lens and having to clean it more frequently to see what you are doing in there! Yuck! Just do your best and stick to the pre-op guidelines the best to your ability and everything should work out for you.
  22. You will have a great experience! You will love Dr Ortiz and the staff there. ALMOST EVERYONE DOES!!!
  23. Isn't it fun when you can really see with your own eyes that your hard work is paying off, Clean out the closets and buy some new clothes! What fun!
