  1. The water is supposed to be safe for drinking now as they treat it just like the US, but when in doubt drink bottled water, they will have some in your room or you can ask to have some brought up to you.
  2. Enjoy Disneyland, it will feel good to really be able to fit in the rides!!!
  3. My first meal was Christmas dinner.....Ham, potato casserole and a small salad and then had a fancy jello salad for dessert. No bread, was afraid to try that!
  4. I prefered the Smart Ones meals from Weight Watchers......just check the labels and compare....I am very negative towards prepared meals anyways, but I did it and did well on my pre-op weight loss.
  5. You did it! Congratulations! Now the journey begins.....
  6. I have some small individual instant pudding that is sugar free and you just mix with milk and I put protein powder into it when I make it and it is quite a "treat" at the end of a long day.
  7. Make sure you have wheels! The only problem I had was lugging the luggage through the customs at the border and I had to lift it with all my souvenirs onto the xray table! Had help everywhere else from the drivers, bellhops, etc. I used curbside check-in at the airport so I never even had to take it into the airport at all. I had my hubby pick me up so he got it off the baggage claim and back into the car. Just use your common sense and ask for help when you need it.
  8. Lisa, Makes a lot of sense. Something that I haven't pondered yet. Thanks for the insight.
  9. I like the idea of both, a conference, but maybe with a social time included. Maybe get in contact with OCC and see if they want to participate or not. I think it would be nice to have some speakers to discuss types of self improvement, tummy tucks, plastic surgery, as well as the physical aspects such as exercise for specific problem areas that we suffer from. Maybe some mind, body, spirit talks thrown in to boot!
  10. I know I get really moody and irritable when I am hungry, but since it has been a whole year, I would think that he would be used to it now. I will be interested to see if anyone else has noticed this too. Maybe he should check with his physician, could be something else is bothering him.
  11. We've all been there! I kept thinking "I have to eat this now, I will never be able to have it again!" before my pre-op. You I can still eat, just later......it is all a mind thing. Now there are things that I would love that don't work with the band, but if the craving comes, I know that I will PB or it will get stuck and the craving will go away. You can still eat though, but the volume goes way down as well as the appetite, when everything is working the way it should. One of the hardest things to do is to be waiting to start the pre-op diet....wait to start the liquids......wait to start the mushies....wait t start eating "real" food. I know my life was revolving around what and when I could eat it. My first food date was burned into my memory and it was all I thought of, the deprivation, and it drive me crazy. Those that don't wait, but schedule their band right away have it a lot easier. I had to wait 3 months for my date and it was sooooo hard as it was in my mind all the time that I wouldn't be able to eat what I liked ever again. It really isn't like that though, just seems like it. Hope this helps. Just remember, you will always have this forum to bounce ideas or just get it off your chest. Donna
  12. I know the feeling, we all do in one way or the other. You aren't alone in this. When I got that way I went and got a smoothie at a local smoothie joint. Usually I get the tapioca pearls, but I had them make it without it. I drank about 1/2 of it and it calmed my growley belly down and I felt totally full. They can make them Low Calorie if you ask them.
  13. Never had that problem until I was banded, now I use the metamucil capsules when I need them.
  14. Glad to see that I am not the only one who has a "fickle" band. It depends on the day what I can and can't eat. Some days I can eat almost anything and some days all I can eat are liquids. I always am cautious what I try and take a very small bite and chew, chew, chew. Even this backfires sometimes! I am very cautious when I eat in public, don't want anything embarrassing to happen. My family say I get a "look" on my face and they know I am not doing well with something. At least I am getting smarter and stopping right away now.
  15. This sounds like fantastic fun! I am in, don't know how I could help, but would love to help out in some way. Either place sounds great, but Vegas would be a lot of fun and pretty easy and inexpensive to fly to. Donna
  16. As much as I hate to tell you, you had better get back down there and get some taken out! My fill is okay except when I am on my period and then I guess everything gets really tight. I have to be really careful and usually just do soups and stuff that is soft during those times.
  17. Well, Congratulations! Glad everything is going well for you. You are now a BANDSTER!!! :lb9:
  18. The first place that I lost was my legs....they got thin and strong (do a lot of water aerobics). Now my boobs are shrinking, but they are definitely going south! I never thought about a boob job until recently....my hubby asked if a different bra would work...I told him only if it was made of stainless steel and then I wouldn't be able to breathe!!! I think I am long past "perky" and need a "lift" when I am through losing what I want to. You know the tune "Do your boobs hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you throw them over your shoulder, can you tie them in a bow?????" Well that is how I am feeling now!
  19. My first fill was only 0.8 cc and it worked for a few weeks, but then I had little restriction and now I have 1.6 cc and it is plenty of restriction. I have to be very careful with what I eat and how I eat it. Everyone is different and that is why the amount varies. When I had my first fill they tried more and when they did the flouro it wouldn't go through so they took some back out so things would go through. It takes several fills before you get to the "sweet spot" when things work perfectly. Don't be discouraged or disappointed.
  20. I don't know where Michelle get this stuff.....too funny! An elephant penis??????? How would you weigh that....I can't imagine. Ewww erase that visual image!
  21. Apple, it is a piece of cake. I get panic attacks if I even think about a needle stick and I have had two fills and they weren't so bad at all. Blood draws are much worse than the fill. Just visualize you on the beach nice and skinny and tanned........and a hot dude or two checking you out!
  22. You should see the shock on people's faces when I tell them they can "feel" my port! I love the shock value When I was down for my pre-op one of the nurses let me "feel" her port and I thought that was sooooo coool! It is a great ice-breaker at parties!
  23. I was at the grocery store and picked up some cat food and kitty litter and it was 40 pounds and I could barely lift it into the cart.....I have lost 50 pounds so far. WOW! No wonder I have more energy.....
