  1. I used the kids Tylenol Meltaways....they are for "older" kids and they melt in the mouth and actually taste pretty good. These worked great for me, but I didn't have much pain after surgery.
  2. Never heard of this trend, but the scene in GWTW and Scarlett getting laced up creates memories. I personnally think that type of figure is very sexy, but I can't even stand tight jeans!!! Women have been doing this sort of stuff for CENTURIES! Maybe you should consult OCC, I am curious for the answer...keep us updated with what they say.
  3. It just amazes me how dedicated these Dr.s and staff are at the OCC! What Dr in this country would check you at your hotel and then take you back to the clinic on thier day off to take care of you!!! =D> =D> =D> I think that is so funny about the basket of goodies! I had people wanting to take me out to lunch afte I got back from my surgery....I told them it would be fun to watch THEM eat!!!
  4. This was soooo much fun!!!! I can't wait to show the kids....I guess I can do one of them in reverse to scare them into not eating too much! Donna
  5. I read in an informational site on Tijuana that their water is treated nowadays and is safe for drinking, washing, etc. So no need for concern.
  6. Congratulations =D> It sure is nice to have LOOSE clothes!
  7. I think I walked in, was a bit buzzed though, don't actually remember the walking part, but remember the anesthesiologist (kind, kind man) comforting me and then I was out cold! I don't remember anything else until I they woke me up to walk the hall! AMAZING!
  8. Hope your kitties are doing okay! I have 5 of the beasties, plus I foster kittens for a rescue group! Have had one with Feline Urinary Syndrome (FUS) a while back and it is good that you got him into the vet ASAP before they get blockages! This can be very painful and EXPENSIVE to treat, but a little bit of prevention can save you tons. Just follow the vet recommendations and things should get better.
  9. It is so easy to take the Trolley from the airport to the border and only costs about 5-6 dollars! I did it alone for the first time and was surprised how pleasant and easy this was. I would have loved some company on the journey though! Once you cross the border there is a Taxi stand and costs $5.00 to go to the Lucerna or the clinic (agree on price before you get in the cab).
  10. I had my teeth whitened down there when I got my fill, they are beautiful! Can't wait to get a tan and really show off my smile! A lot depends on how stained they are to begin with, but I thought my teeth were white, and now I can really see the difference. I had some sensitivity in my teeth for about a week, but that went away now I just have white teeth!
  11. We know what you are going through! It is so very hard, but remember to take care of your band...you don't want to undo what you have done so far. Things will definitely get better. Maybe try some watered down mashed potatoes, or applesauce, suck on frozen grapes (don't eat them though). Sugarfree fudgecicles were a comfort food for me during this time. I also drank buttermilk, for some reason that would satisfy me the most....most people don't like it, but for me it was a treat. Hope this helps some. > Hugs to you >
  12. You should see your Dr. right away and get on some medication for your cough. I had a cough so bad that it was making me vomit, pee my pants and lose control of my bowels..... EWWWWW! I was so worried about damaging my band or getting dehydrated. My Doctor gave me medication and it cleared up pretty quick Better safe than sorry.
  13. I used slim-fast or the Costco stuff and didn't have any problems with it. Taste was okay for both so it is mainly personal preference.
  14. I don't drink a lot of coffee anyway, but Dr. Miranda said that coffee is fine afterwards and that you can use the non-dairy creamer and splenda which is how I like it anyways. Since surgery though I can only drink 1/2 cup at a time instead of a full cup. So I guess the answer is yes before and after just use splenda instead of sugar, I didn't take any chances though and didn't use creamer before surgery just in case, but you could call and ask her for sure.
  15. Lauren, Best Wishes for a happy outcome =D> I can feel your excitement! By now you are well on your way to some great changes....Keep us posted. >
  16. I would be a little nervous too, You will be able to eat whatever you want before your first fill so be careful!!! You will have plenty of healthy choices, I actually did my pre-op on a cruise and lost 15 pounds! Enjoy yourself and remain active, they have great exercise facilities on those cruises and get out and walk like crazy on the land portions of the trip. There is plenty of non food activities to get involved with, so stay focused. I wish I were coming with you! Have fun! >
  17. Oh remembering the shock of the "paper panties" crawling up my butt!!!! Better than nothing at all, I guess :-?
  18. Helena, Thanks for the suggestions, now I just have to put them into play. I think I really just need a pep talk right now....start slowing down and concentrate on eating instead of doing a million other things at the same time. Glad I am not the only one....I know this, but it is good to get a reminder now and then. I have heard not to drink for 30 minutes prior to eating, but I just can't do that, feel better with a lot of fluid before I eat and can concentrate on my meal and not on how much I want something to drink! I am going to try 4 smaller meals too, hopefully I can get back into the swing of things. Thanks for the pep talk, Donna
  19. I was banded on Dec. 7th and find myself having a lot of problems with hunger lately, haven't gained any weight, but haven't lost any either. Having a lot of problems with eating too fast or the wrong stuff and PB-ing. Had a fill in January (only .8 cc), don't think I need a new fill, but just don't feel myself getting full. Craving things like crazy that I am not supposed to be eating. I am exercising about 5 times a week (water aerobics). I have problems with different stuff each time, I can eat something one day but not the next. Anyone else going through this? I don't seem to have a problem the beginning of the day with the hunger, it usually starts around 5 pm till midnight!!! I am so frustrated with myself. I also have problems with wanting liquids with my food....I struggle every time with this and will watch the clock until it is 30 minutes so I can have my icewater. Sometimes I cave in and have an ice cube. I haven't touched a soda or alcohol since prior to surgery and I eat breakfast every morning, but am not hungry at that time, but I make myself do it. Would love some feedback on ideas that might help.....
  20. Something that helps me with the hunger pangs are frozen grapes--red or green work. You can put them in your mouth and suck on them and they last a really long time. Just a few in a baggie and keep it in the freezer and just take them out when you need something to take the "edge" off. Easy and portable....pretty low in calories too. Donna
  21. Good Luck Darlene, I hope your experience will be as good as mine was!
  22. Paula, First I want to say that I enjoyed your story.....It will help relieve so many that are in the process of deciding and also those that are scheduled. Me, I just like to relive a very positive experience in my life. Welcome to the other side!!!
  23. I was the last to have surgery and waited a long time too and didn't get my dental check up.....they probably didn't have the time to do it or forgot...I got my dental check up when I went back for my fill and got the whitening done at the same time and it was no problem.
