  17. I was again browsing the member's Galleries and came across some great progress of our board Moderator Dolittle!! Not sure of the exact dates of these pics (I believe the first was day of surgery 3/1/07 and the next on his reecent trip to TJ on 5/15/07) hopefully he'll log on to confirm and maybe share his weight when they were taken, but once again proof postive that the band WORKS (and not just for us girls)!!

  20. I had my first fill April 18th, I got 1.6ccs felt no restriction for the first 6 day then it kicked in for about 2 weeks and I was losing 1 or 2lbs per week... Then the restriction went away and I stopped losing so I booked my second fill on May 16th (about a month after the 1st). Dr. Romero added .7ccs to my band (for a total of 2.3ccs) and told me to eat that day to test my restriction and I couldn't keep down 5 bites of salad that night or 4 bites of banana the next morning so I got an unfill on the 17th (Dr. R took out -.3 leaving me with 2.0ccs total). I am still probably a little too tight but I am living with it, learning to follow the bandster rules. A good fill should mean you are losing 1-2lbs per week and I have already lost 2lbs in about 4 days so that's good...

You'd be shocked at how small the hole going through the band is, I've heard once you're filled it's between the size of a dime and a nickle (the standard un-banded sized opening is the size of a sillver dollar) {that may not mean alot to you Canadians, lol eh?} your ideal "bandster bite" is the size of the eraser on a pencil or the size of a pea. So if you imagine a pipe the size of a nickle you'll find that if you stack up enough pea's (smashed or not) that they will still back up into the band (this is when you get the feeling of fullness). I have felt full by eating mashed potatoes which are already almost liquid (not a lot of chewing required) so if those are able to stop up the band (in a good, feeling full way) then small bites of anything chewed to mush would also stop up the band. This is also why it's important not to drink with meal, the liquid would just wash the mushed food through the band making you feel hungry sooner!
  23. Ok Everyone is updated, things have been crazy for me I missed 5 days of working out with being gone to TJ and a few days with no energy!! Here are my most reecent workouts: May 12th- 45 min swimming May 15th- 45min run/walk with dogs May 20th- 2hrs cleaning the house (I worked up sweat too Carrie) May 21st- 2 miles on treadmill
  24. Pammie- 1st off, I'm glad you're feeling better!! Thanks for posting all the great info, espcially the protien info! Now a question, what caused the sudden restriction? Did you reecently have a fill that was too tight or did you just become tight all of the sudden out of the blue?
