  1. I am the same way, I can't eat anything that even resembles bread, I can keep down 1-2 crackers and that's it... I haven't had a cheeseburger or a Subway sandwhich since March (sigh, but that's part of what got me here so I guess it's a good thing) When we had my son's b-day party the place we held it brought in pizza for the kids and I managed to eat just the cheese and pepperoni and skipped the bread/dough part (it's kind of like eating the protien first, right?) of course that was before my 2nd fill, now I doubt I could keep even that down.
  2. I just looked at the calendar and 4th of July is 6 weeks from Friday, so we've all got our work cut out for us but if you don't challenge yourself you'll never know what you'll be able to accomplish!!
  3. In case some of you missed the post in the other topic "Band Camp 2009" was the name suggested for our bandster get together taking place in mid 2009 (March, April or May) in San Diego. If anyone else wants to submit a name for the get together post it here!! Here's the 1st draft of the Logo:

  5. SO glad to see that you are on the path to recovery!! The OCC docs are the best and it's great to know they were there for you when it really counted!!

First off: DARLENE STEP AWAY FROM THE BEVERAGES... lol I think for everyone this is the HARDEST rule to learn to follow, it is also the most likely reason for your pouch to stretch which can totally sabotage even having the band...   7. lol, I am with you Jann... 175 is my GOAL right now (hope to hit it before the 4th of July) On a serious note there are a few low bmi posters here, so I'm sure they will be along to answer your questions from their personal experiences... From what I have seen yes it is typical for those with more weight to lose with lose faster but at some point we will all get down to those lower numbers and the weight loss will slow. But we are all aiming to lose 1-2 lbs per week and all of us can do it!!

  9. Hey Rob, Yes that is pretty normal, as your swelling goes down you'll find yourself able to drink (and eventually eat) more and more... Thats why the fills are so important they regulate your restriction!!

  13. Hey Wendy I'm sure it's just Aunt Flo and her typical water-weight baggage in town for a visit... Give it a few days and let us know! Oh and one more thing when I was stuck at 200lbs I started my cycle and went up to 202, by the time I was done I was 197...all in 5-6 days so weird!
  14. Hey Sweetie, Sorry about the slow response, my laptop crashed so I haven't been online as much.. Yes I do fly from Vegas to SD on Southwest Airlines, if you book far in advance you can get a flight for $45 each way (about $105 total with the taxes and fees) if you book today for a flight tomorrow it would be $139 each way (about $288 with the taxes and fees). So you can see there is a big advantage to booking early!
  15. I spoke to Dr. Romero at the OCC about port replacement and he says that they don't install a low profile port but they will place the port you already have deeper under the muscle so it doesn't stick out as much.
  16. I have heard good things about this game system... I have he "Yourself Fitness" game for the PS2 which has a personal trainer take you through various workouts (you can even select what kinds of equipment you have at your house (hand weights, balance ball, etc) and it will give you a workout using those things. It does the same kind of tracking with your weights and goal but I think the addition of the balace board that can help you make sure you're doing the exercises correctly! I was going to wait and get my son a Wii for Christmas but maybe we need to get one sooner so Mama can play!!
  17. I am right there with you!! I had my second fill on Friday (went to 2.3ccs) then had an unfill on Saturday because I couldn't keep anything down (Now I'm at 2.0ccs) I am still really tight right now, yesterday all I could have for lunch was 1 cracker, 1 ham round, and 1 cheese square from my son's Lunchable, and I got a little sick on just that. I have already lost 2lbs since my fill so eventhough I can't eat much I am feeling great and soooo happy my band has kicked into full gear!!

  19. I am in the Monday and Thursday club, I weigh in the mornings in the nude !! I weighed yesterday morning and was surprised I didn't lose anything especially because I basically went for 2 days without food when my fill was too tight... So I weighed again before I went to bed and I was down a pound, I thought it might be a fluke so I checked this morning and the pound didn't come back, hooray! I lost 7lbs in month 2 and with 1 week to go it looks like I'll have lost 7lbs this month too, doesn't sound like much (about 1.5lbs a week) but I am happy with my progress and as you've seen from my pictures the inches go a lot faster than the scale does!
  20. Last night on Live Chat I suggested calling our weekend "Band Camp 2009" kind of a fun name... Feedback?? Does anyone else have any ideas on what to call it?
  21. I second the idea for making it a weekly thing, Maybe we could start 30min earlier so the east coast bandsters can stick around awhile longer?

  23. Any problems (band slippage, stretched pouch, ect) will be visible on the fluro so any trained doctor or technician should be able to tell you what the issue is (if there even is an issue). I would be sure to mention that it's your first check after being banded so they take an extra good look!
