  1. You can try contacting Lori via email and let her know what's going on though there's probably not much she can do other than let Carolyn know so she can fix it tomorrow...
  2. Thanks for the recipe, I think maybe we need Chad to add a sub-category somewhere for everyones recipe ideas!
  3. Thanks for all the great updates Chad, you're making the board even better than before!!
  4. I would suggest low sodium soups if you really love them... I did mainly protein shakes because that's what I liked, that with jello and yogurt is what I lived in on for 3 weeks.. It wasn't the most filling of diets but I wasn't ever that hungry because I could have up to 5 shakes a day since they are only 160 cal each..
  5. That is so exciting to hear!! I'm sure you'll be a success since you're already losing weight and aren't even on the pre-op plan yet!
  6. I think it depends on how much stomach fat you have... if you carry your weight elsewhere or more all over your body you might feel your port more easily!
  7. Just checking on some of my girlies- Mackenzie- It's been a week since your first (and hopefully last, lol) fill... Is the restriction still amazing, and have you lost any weight since then? Kittycat- How was your first meeting with your surgeon, did you get a surgery date set?? Dontondan- You were supposed to have your 2nd fill today, how much fill did you get and how did it go?? Are you feeling more restriction this time around? Inquiring minds want to know!!!
  8. Sounds like you have irritated your esophagus, usually that happens when you swallow food that isn't chewed well enough but I think you're still on liquids so I guess maybe you're drinking something too spicy (tortilla soup or chili maybe?) or something too acidic (too much orange juice maybe?) and that is causing the irritation take a look at what you're drinking and maybe change it up a bit!!
  9. Way to go Misty!!! You will be in One-derland soon!
  10. Here's a video on the same topic from Dr. O's website: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/22785441#22785441
  11. Great to see you posting sufina, hope you're getting a hang of the board!
  12. Paula- My boobs are shrinking too started as a 42DD and am now in a 38D I will be needing a lift just like Reneej said- I will have to ask Dr. O if he can recommend a good plastic surgeon in TJ.
  13. Thanks Helen, You are so sweet! I really wanted to get down to 200lbs before my fill but with only 2 days left I don't think it's going to happen! Of course I am always happy to help, give advice and support when I can... I just hope my posts don't get annoying- lol!
  14. You crack me up Cindy, but good for you- you know what's working for you and it's keeping you accountable and you're seeing results so keep it up babe!
  15. I have a tall/skinny husband too Paula, he is 6'4 and weighs 200lbs, I am 5'4 and weigh 203 shows what a difference a foot in height makes... lol I can't wait till I'm skinny too!
  16. What exactly are you eating right now? I am not a big soup fan but I did it for the first 4 days and didn't lose anything... When I weighed on day 7 (which was 3 days after I stopped the soups) I had lost 6lbs, I think the salt content really can sabotage some peoples results, other eat it and still lose! Lynn is right that if you are getting only 800 calories a day you body is starving! Try bumping it up to 1000-1200 calories a day and see how your body reacts!!
  17. I was a big fan of the hot tea that the OCC gives you, I asked for a couple of tea bags as I was leaving and they gave me 5 or 6 to take with me back to the hotel.. Someone mentioned Gum? I don't think that is a good idea (unless you're using it to release the pressure in your ears on the plane ride to SS) and some doctors don't allow banded patients to chew gum ever again because you swallow a lot of air when you chew it..
  18. If you are gulping water then you can get an air bubble trapped that would give that stuck feeling, walking should relieve it pretty quickly!
  19. Way to go Kimmie!! It's great to have real food, even now (I have been on solids for 4 weeks) there are still meals that I savor every bite of!! That 2 week pre-op and 3 week post op liquid diet really helps you to get your cravings in check!!
  20. There are coffee pots in the rooms at the hotel so I just made my own broth most of the time.. I did try the hotel's broth and I did not like it, they served it with some limes so I squeezed the juice in it which made it bearable... I guess everyone has their own preferences!!
  21. First off, :lb9: So many of us have been where you are, trying to do it on our own but always falling off the band wagon one way or another!! That's what's so great about the band it is a safety net for those times when you feel like cheating it keeps you in check!! As for the port you can't see or feel mine currently but Cathy is right about the port becoming more visible in people who lose a lot of weight if that happens you can return to your surgeon to get a low-profile port installed.
  22. I am a big fan of curves too! When I was playing around with the "My Virtual Model" site I did one at 145 and 130 and honestly I think the 145 looks better, like you said I don't know if I would want to be that skinny... lol Here's what I mean (you can click the smaller pic to see the larger version):
  23. Now that you mention it I do remember that discussion about us all being "fake customers" but you soon learned with so many totally satisfied customers Dr. O doesn't need any "plants". lol And now you're one of us!!
  24. I have been thinking about changing my goal weight for a while now, right now I have my goal weight set at 130lbs but I'm not really sure why I set my goal so high (or my goal weight so low)... I guess part of it was based on what the recommended weight is for my height, part of it was me wanting to set my goal similar to what I saw others setting their goals at and given my strong personality I wanted to challenge myself. I mean when I was a cheerleader in high school and college I was a size 8 weighing 140-145 and of course like most girls I had some body image issues but I looked good was totally confident wearing a crop top and short skirt on the field. At that time I was eating whatever I wanted (like most teenagers I wasn't choosing the healthiest foods) but was getting so much of a workout from cheering I never really worried about it! I honestly feel like if I got down to 170lbs and never lost another pound I would be fine... And at 150lbs I would be ecstatic so why would I set myself up for failure by setting my goal at 130? I can honestly say that never in my life can I recall weighing 130lbs I'm guessing it must have been middle school maybe.. I mean do we really even need a goal weight? Or will eventually our bodies just settle at a weight where it's comfortable? Sorry for the idle rambling, I guess I am so used to failing on diets before and I know the band will help me not to fail this time but I don't want to be disappointed if I don't reach this lofty goal weight I have set for myself...
