  1. Good Luck with your first fill, I am getting my first fill back at the OCC on Friday and I can't wait!
  2. Congrats on your surgery and welcome to our forum, your wife has posted a few times so we know you've got a great support system in place at home but your fellow bandsters will be here to help/commiserate/talk anytime you need them! Welcome to bandland!! :lb10:
  3. First off congrats you have done well with your weight loss so far so something must be working!! It sounds like you might need a second fill, from what I have read when you're not losing 1-2 lbs a week while following all the other bandster rules (which it sounds like you are doing) then it is time for another fill...
  4. The Glue is what holds the incisions together. Instead of sewing with stiches Dr O uses glue to minimize infection and scarring!
  5. Way to go M-C! What a cute springtime ticker, maybe I need to change mine up too!
  6. Make sure you pack some Gas X strips or Phazyme, some people have found great relief for their shoulder pain with these over the counter meds!
  7. lol Nicole that is hilarious can't believe he turned you down...
  8. Here's a How To on Clearing Your Browser's Cache All those files stored in your cache take up space, so from time to time, you may want to clear out the files stored in your cache to free up some space on your computer. This is called clearing the cache. To clear your cache: 1. On the Internet Explorer 6 Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab. 2. On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button. This will delete all the files that are currently stored in your cache. The Delete Files button 3. Click OK, and then click OK again.
  9. I am totally motivated and excited to see other peoples progress, whether it's ups or downs we have all BEEN THERE! I think that so many people have struggles that when someone loses even one lb because it's a pound that is gone forever!! BeBe- We all have different starting weights 10lbs off of you who started at what some people consider their goal weight is amazing... I can't wait to be in Onderland like you!
  10. Here's a link to a great post Denise (TheRedhead) started where a bunch of us shared what the "turning point" in our lives when we decided to get the band! Just click on it and it will open the thread in a new window: http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5429
  11. I'm not a doctor but I can't see any logical reason that you would need to divulge your bandster status to a doctor before a colonoscopy!! We have a slew of nurses who are banded so maybe they can give you more facts about it... Good luck..
  12. Hey Hanna, Did you not get my last myspace message from last week about our plans for the trip? We are coming in on the morning of the 17th doing Sea World during the day and then checking into our San Deigo hotel about 6pm that night. Maybe I am confused but I THOUGHT we were going out all together on the night of the 17th??? Then the next day I was planning on meeting up with you guys on the morning of the 18th at your hotel and riding along with Zulma too, while my husband and son stay in SD and do the zoo... let me know if that won't work and I will have to figure something out. Once we cross back over to San Diego that afternoon I will have to leave because we will be driving back that night.. Hope we can work out all the details in the next few days!!
  13. There's no need to apologize at all!! We are all here for each other and we've all complained about something or the other... That's what's so great about the board when you're not able to talk to your friends about your banding issues, and your husband or family is tired of hearing about it you can always find someone that can offer some advice or at least sympathize with what you are feeling
  14. I have always wondered, if you don't mind me asking is your therapist a food/nutrition specialist that only deals with weight issues or are they just a standard shrink that you speak to about your food and diet issues?
  15. Everyone is different, your body will determine if it needs to hold on to some of your post op weight or not. I also think other factors like age, diet choices and activity level also have a lot to do with if you will lose weight in those inital post op weeks or not! It's been said hundreds of time but you didn't put the weigh on in 6 weeks so don't expect to lose it all in that short period of time either!!
  16. Well if you are trying to stretch a small picture into a large avatar it will come out pixilated/distorted! If you can use a pic that is close in size to 128 x 128 you can always crop it using your photo editing program!
  17. I used to weigh everyday but I am not one of those people who let what the scale says determine what kind of day I am going to have. I have been on a downward trend right now thanks to my band but even when I was gaining my weight I wouldn't obsess about it, lol maybe that's why I got so heavy I wasn't concerned enough about it! Right now I am weighing in twice a week on Thursdays because that is the day of my surgery so I can record my 2 week results, 3 week results, and so on. I also weigh on Mondays since my weekend eating habits are worse than what I consume during the week so I can see how I've done.. I even think knowing that I will be weighing in on Monday helps me to be more aware of my weekend eating!
  18. There are plenty of band-friendly foods you can have at this point without harming your surgery... I loved eating jello and would sometimes consume a whole small box's worth in one sitting, it filled up my stomach and killed those hunger pains. This is the hardest part of the lap band experience, we all have gone on those crash diets where we were starving for a week and maybe lost 3-4lbs but when we went back to "normal" eating we would put the weight back on plus a pound or two more... This is where the band kicks in!!! It will prevent you from gaining that weight back... YOU CAN DO IT!! :lb4:
  19. I feel like with all of the info I learned from reading the boards every day I walked into my consult/surgery totally prepared! I know you have been counting down the days till this consult so best of luck, be sure to let us know how it goes!! :lb11:
  20. Email or PM me with your questions, I'll do my best to answer them/ help you!
  21. Hey Wendy, How are you feeling sister? Hope the Chantix is working for you, I have a friend who used it and the only problem/side effect she had was crazy dreams! :lb4:
  22. Did you get it resolved or did you just put the old avatar back up?
  23. That is funny, my boobs were stuck down to my belly from the Iodine, that was an interesting sight and feeling!!
  24. The Lap Band sounds like exactly what you need to get your weight and health problems under control.. I used to diet the same way I would work my butt off, lose 20lbs then gain back 30... a few months later same story over and over for the past 5 years (since my son was born). Now that I have been banded if I have been losing weigh without much effort and if I ever feel like falling off the bandwagon the band will keep me in check! Everything that you read about OCC is totally true, Dr. O has had no fatalities in over 5,000 surgeries many of the most expensive doctors in the US were trained by him, he's the best so don't let your fear hold you back from achieving your goals and dreams! :lb9:
