  1. Such a great idea. I had been wishing that we had a chat room!
  2. I think you are doing great.. it is all a learning experience. I have looked up my favorite fast foods, considering the protein and fat in them. I love wendy's chili, and it is a good choice for me. I also looked up, (unfortunately after eating it) the calories in a Jack in the Box small ice cream cup... 800 calories.. I nearly fainted! Since a jack-in-the-box jumps up to surprise you, I certainly was surprised. Personally, I think it jumped out and bit me on the BLEEP! Anyway....
  3. I am so happy for you that you got a good fill. I am jealous... Who did your fill? Dr. Romano? We were in the tower on my first fill, and the construction was so loud in the daytime that I thought I was going to go nuts. No naps, no nuthing until they quit for the night. I spent some time outside on a bench near the pool and read for a while. I do love Alonso, but I also had trouble with them not having me on the list for a room, and they also tried to make me pay. I told them no and they called the OCC, who took care of it. I don't blame the hotel at all. They looked on the list sent to them from OCC, and my name wasn't on it. Someone at OCC messed up. When I go back, maybe in late fall, I will probably stay in the other hotel to compare it. I will also book a time when it is Dr. Romano's rotation for fills.
  4. Hooray for you! I am going to do the happy dance for you right now! Well.. happy dance from hips up.. my knee wouldn't be very happy to dance. Congratulations!
  5. Milestones in my Mom's life.. I am making it work... My mom was a victim of a loan scam targeting the elderly, and as a consequence, after the siblings and I have spent two years of trying to make it right, she is having to declare bankruptcy. The forclosure on the house should be in the next month, and Mom has YEARS of paperwork saved from the last 32 years. It definately looks totally ocd, but before she wouldn't let us look at the stacks in her room. Some of that stuff is 32 years old. I have literally have to strong arm her to go through every stack in her room, because she wants to read each one to see if she needs to save it. She was an accountant, and thinks of it all as the "mental mindset of an accountant." We have made a "to be shredded" box and sit and shred til the shredders get too hot and we have to stop. I have snuck no telling how much junk and shredded it. She even had bank statements and the checks for over 15 years... ugh.. hope I never see a paper check again. Anyway, I have managed to pursuade/make her let go of the past paperwork and shred bags and bags of stuff.. Literally over 15 garbage bags of shred now. She is really getting into it now and loves to shred whenever she can. So, I feel like we have had a breakthrough milestone. Blessed to be helping my mom....
  6. WOOT! WOOT! WOOT! Go Girl! When I grow up I want to be just like you!!
  7. I LOVE your haircut. Way to go girl!
  8. Congratulations and welcome to the land of Band..
  9. Okay.. I TRIED to walk today.. I got about 10 minutes out and then heard this HUMONGOUS boom.. looked up in the distance, and there was lightning flashing everywhere! I had to practically run home.. well, a good, scared power walk.. I did a total of 17 minutes and ought to get the rest of the minutes for pure dumb luck and breaking my knee joints hurrying home.. oh yeah, and don't forget the calories burned by pure fear!
  10. After I have done some serious thinking, I found I am good at some things. I am a pretty great singer, as I was a voice major in college. Also, I am a scrapbook instructor and have done a number of scrapbooks for high paying customers. I could have some sort of workshop constructing scrapbook pages about weight loss, tj visits, and occ visits, but that could be arranged for the cost of the materials. La La... that is all I can think of that I am good at.
  11. Well, the good news was that my friend opted for lapband after all. She has called me twice to ask if nausea is normal.. that she has been nauseous since her surgery. I told her to call her doctor immediately.
  12. I, too, have no interest in breakfast, and have sort of "cheated" by counting the coffeemate in my morning coffee as breakfast. Today, I used my protein powder in my coffee.. makes yummy mocha. I still feel like I am "cheating," but the difference is that I am not.
  13. This is why I need a way to bookmark posts, but where is the post with the lapband handbook?
  14. "Morning has broken, like the first morning...." Every day is fresh and new.. You reminded me of that... Enjoy God's re-creation of the new day.
  15. :cheerleader: I applaud you for the weight you have already lost. :cheerleader: Since your insensitive doctor failed to notice that, remind him next time and see if he turns red with embarassment. If he doesn't, sweetly tell him that he needs to be more informed over his patients' progress and tell him that it was insensitive of him to slap you with that when you are obviously making the effort already.
  16. I know this is going to sound elementary, but since I don't have any restriction yet, the only thing holding me together diet wise is the salad plate with the 4 quadrants. I fix my plate, and even if I pile things a little high, it is still less than I would have eaten before. The mental part is always the hard part... I have lost over a hundred pounds 3 different times, and if the mental part was easy, I wouldn't be in my situation today. I personally try to put my mental battle on the alter every day, but, as everyone knows, the bad part of being a living sacrifice is that you keep crawling off the alter.
  17. I felt the same way, and yes, today has been a new day... I am even going to try to walk when it cools off around 6:30. Thanks to everyone for being supportive when things feel rough. That is what is wonderful about this group.
  18. That is the same plan that I was on before my surgery, and I did fine on it. I did have to look for protein shakes other than slimfast, as I couldn't stand that but about 3 days. I decided on EAS chocolate protein powder. which was delicious. I even put the powder in coffee.. it made great mocha. Good luck on the beginning of your journey.
  19. You can expect to be treated like a rock star. You are treated like it is an honor for the staff to have you there, compared to the usual you should be honored that the doctor is doing your surgery. Big difference.
  20. Go for it! Otherwise, you will always wonder about the "what would have happened if..
  21. YOU'RE KIDDING! Bad, bad you... oops.. bad bad me.
