  1. You know, if that had happened in the US, you would have been sent to the hospital and would have to wait forever.. you might not have even seen your doctor. Go, OCC! :cheerleader:
  2. It is unusual for Dr. Miranda not to respond to an email.. I would send her a copy of it and ask again.
  3. Oooh.. thank you both! I will try the avatar thing.. As for the picture being telling.. should be telling everyone that I don't want to show my braces when I smile. LOL...
  4. Yay for you!! Keep it up.. we are rooting for you!
  5. Okay, I admit it.. I seem to be lapband impaired. I obviously did it once, but even using Michelle's excellent instructions I cannot get it again. So, I am posting a few pictures until I can figure out how to change my av and personal pic again. new avatar (hopefully) before, in TJ at hotel, March 18th
  6. I go on the 6th.. thanks for the encouraging words! You made me all excited again to go for my fill. Was your band the small one? Were you happy with the 1.6 fill?
  7. Woot! Thanks for keeping us up-to-date with their progress.
  8. My understanding is that it also requires a special needle.
  9. Why ashamed? Good research is NEVER wrong.
  10. Hooray, Kimmie! I am happy for you. One word of caution... Today I had a Lean Cuisine flatbread sandwich.. the steak one.. and I had to stop.. the bread was just too doughy and it gave me that screaming " this is your one warning.. stop now!" kind of signal. I haven't had any luck with any regular bread of any sort, but am fine with the drier crackers, tortillas, etc.
  11. What happened to our cute smilies?
  12. Nikki, I am going on the 6th, too, and my fill "Package" includes transportation to and from the airport, one night at the Lucerna, and a fill with fluroscope for $275. Have you talked to Lori about it? Maybe you can share my ride.. ask Lori. I get there at 11:00 am, and my fill is at 3:00.
  13. Since we cannot have liquids with meals after our first fills, that pretty much eliminates soups, doesn't it?
  14. After our first fill, we are not supposed to eat liquidy things. Does anyone have a recipe for oatmeal cookies that would be good for breakfast? (protein, fruit, grain)
  15. Oh, BTW.. everyone... you are not supposed to keep your scale in the bathroom or in any other humid place; it will make your readings inaccurate and it will continue to degrade over time in the damp atmosphere. Before my husband hid the scales, we kept it in the entry way closet, and placed it on the tile in the entry way. Way accurate! (too accurate!) ack!
  16. Mine is 6'1" and 160 (he was 145 until about 2 years ago,) and I am 5'8" and now 258. We have always been Jack Sprat and his wife. I want us to be Jack Sprat and his THIN wife.
  17. Dr. Ortiz told me that I wouldn't need my nexium the day after my surgery, and I have never taken it again. It is amazing.
  18. wow.. I never knew that I was doing it wrong all the time! No wonder the scale was weighting heavy! Lighter already, Paula
  19. Hugs, Hun, Any major life change results in a little depression, and you are going through two of them - quiting smoking and lapband surgery. I think you are handling things GREAT! One thing my therapist has told me repeatedly is that if I am feeling depressed, to leave the house and do something that I have never done before or haven't done in a long time. I have gone to the library that just opened, gone shopping at stores I never have been to, gone to the park and fed the ducks, found a garden at the museum and wandered through it.... you get the idea. Hang in there!
  20. Phazyme for gas pains and money for Revolution Ave!
  21. I think both doctors are VERY handsome, but Dr. Ortiz is... well, stunning. He truely made all my questions a big jumble in my head, because He was so very handsome. Fortunately, my husband was there to ask the questions, which freed me up to just stare. lol
  22. WOW! You are looking fabulous! What an inspiration to us all!
