Mona-Camille, Follow the rules so that you don't create a major complications for yourself . You have to do your clear both and follow the instructions to the "T". Your sister, not sure how she is doing........however starting the regiem that she did so early, may come back to haunt her later. THE BAND MUST HEAL ON THE STOMACH..... and eating instead of siping is not good! You do not want to play with that process . Deal with the hunger and get through it, because if you don't you just wasted $ dollars and put your health at major risk . I know we may want to believe that "everyone is different" but right thru here it's called "follow instructions" ( , so that you can be sucessful. :-? I am curious to hear how your sister is doing and how much weight she has loss thus far. I hope I don't sound harsh......I just don't want you to fail and people say...." Ok, here we go again. =D> NO LAUGHING GAS.....GOD NO! Adavan, is the pill and it just calms you down and makes things real easy. They wheeled us in one by one and out we came in 30 min or less. Dr. Ortiz repaired my hernia, when he went in! Next.......... Anyway, they put me out and I remembered coming to in my private room. Starting vomiting as a first reaction.....nothing serious though! Little sore but the staffs' bedside manners were great!!!! That night we slept good and had a nurse and doctor on staff the whole night. They were sleep though....but a hollar away. We were never straped to oxygen or heart monitors cause we did not need it! The surgery was real easy and we were up and out the next day. I went back to the hotel and just slept. The next day, I was checked by the Dr. at the center and off I went to the airport!!!! My experience was awesome!!!!! Finally, I was given a lovenos (blood thinner) in my stomach as pre caution because I had a blood clot in my lungs in 2005. They also gave me another pill along with my Blood pressure meds as so to stablize my blood pressure during surgery.....bottom line I was well taken care of! God answers prayers! >

Kimmie, The border is simply a line dividing CA and TJ. Right now, you can go back and forth with a birth certificate and state Id. Going over, is just 10 min from San Diego airport and you just drive across the lime and your in TJ. Coming back, Fransico (driver), gets in a seperate line that gets you to the border quicker, rather than waiting in all the traffic. You must present a passport or certificate and an id. The border thing is over rated, just a double yellow line.

Hello Las Vegas!!!!!!! Well, like many of you, I was banded by Dr, Ortiz and now have become and outcast for going to Mexico! Now what is so funny about it all, is Dr, Ortiz proctored the doctors here in Las Vegas that do the band. They charge $15,000 and my band was half the price. What's even funnier , while they are frowing at us for going to Mexico, ........is that Dr. Ortiz lives in San Diego, CA!!!!!!!!!!! and is one of the best in the industry. 6-8 bands a day over 5,000 bands performed!!!! After being told that I could not attend a support group at one of the local weight loss doctors....because "I was banded in Mexico".......I started laughing...No problem...... I will start my own support group!!! THE NEW LAS VEGAS BANDSTER SUPPORT GROUP FOR BANDSTERS BANDED IN MEXICO, will start in March and will meet once a week, Thursdays or Saturday! Our support group will focus on us and our new bands. Our new way of eating and last but not least helping other raise their monies to be banded in Mexico and the support that goes with it! All Las Vegas bandsters please reply........ and post your interest! I would like to encourage the rest of you to start a support group to meet the needs of Mexico bandsters in your area! Hey girls, I am a self employed paralegal with my own business......and a slu of clients. I closed my business the day before I left for TJ, that was a Wednesday. I was banded on 2/21 Thursday and returned to seeing clients that following Monday. Being self employed is great and has afforded me to do what I want when I want. Also, I can handle my cleints and never leave my house or go to the office. The only thing that I noticed is that when I started trying to get around to file documents and meet clients........ it wore me out, I remember getting sick to my stomach from moving around so much. Just take it easy, bending and lifting and carrying too much close to your stomach can cause you to be really sore too. The gas was not bad for me, as I have been a acid reflux gal for so long that gas is part of my life style. No.... not farting all over the place, but just the rumbling in my belly. However, you will soon find that burping and farting is something that you have taken for granted. You will quickly learn that when it does come.......you just need to get it out! I am 8 days out and everything is going well. Be Blessed >

Ok Ok ....back by popular demand!!! Here we go! Well they called my name and man I felt like th tiger in the wizard of Oz....make a run for it! ( It was my time to do this. Now yes, I must confess I was full of hot air and was calling on the name of the Lord!!! I remember asking "who" Me?????Anyway, I was ready. Fountains, LdL flat screen T.Vs and cable and your own phone to make your last call to the US ( for help.......just joking. You could use the phone and get incomig and outgoing calls to pretty much anywhere. Your family could call in as well. =D> They had us change and started IV, now in this IV had the works.....Nexium, antibiotic, and pain meds all in one. They gave us a adivan to calm us down. I just got banded on 2/21/08. Single mom. living in Vegas, no family and no support! I got the look, folk wanted to pray for me, people wanted to give me a "Word" it got it reallllllllly bad. But, check this out ....you are struggling with your weight right, unhealthy and unhappy? Well this is what really matters.......they have nothing to do with THAT. WAgirl, At this point it's just time to keep it real. Im branded now! Vitamins, I use are all liquid, I very seldom take pills. There is liquid B-Complex, Liquid magnesuim/Calcium, Liquid Vitamin C and any other liquid that I find to be essential. Now a word to the wise, chewable fiber, BECAREFUL, some chewable fibers will expand once it hits the new pouch. From ,my understanding that is not good fiber. So what I did was get liquid! Now remember, anything that is liquid will go thru. That's why they say that you can drink your calories and never loss weight! #-o So remembr being banded is no joke!!!! God be with you >

#-o Constipated anyone? Just got banded 2/21/08 and between the gas and no bowel movement, man it was badddddddddddd. No room for both! So at 3:30 am in the morning I was in my car going to Walmart!!!! Here is what you need..... DO NOT BUY A ORAL LAXATIVE....NOT BAND INTERACTIVE...instead use Liquid Glycerin by Fleet. It's a small suppository that is filled with gycerin. It's to be inserted in the rectum and Wala......in minutes you are thanking your Heavenly Father! Since being newly banded, I never realize how much I took passing gas for granted Now on the box it will say that if your experiencing abdominal pain do not use. My interpretation, because I am not a doctor, this type of pain did not apply to my surgery. I'm sore because I have incisions ( So this worked like a charm for me. Darlene, Your more than welcomed! I sooooooo well understand the frustration of having High BP, it's almost like you have no control and your relying on doctors to give you the answer. Well God has the answer to eveything that ills us and so you have to rely on HIM, Man can not help, they can only assist. The meds that your taking in is in the same family of the drug that I use. These meds respond differently for each indidivual. Now, one thing that I want to point out to you is that it is the Grace of God that you have caught this disease....because there are millions walking around and don't know that they have it! So we are thanking God for that! I freaked out when I finally found out what is was for me. I was offended that "mauh" a christian" and "I have high blood pressure",I lost it. I remember when I finally got the pills and I brought them home. I sat one of the pills on top of the bottle and cried all night because I had to take this pill or risk a heart attack or stroke. But God...... He understands our makeup and what freaks us out and what concerns us. He is CONCERNED! You want this surgery...right. Well, the God wants you healthy.....so I'll be lifting you up this week and belieiving the Lord that it is His will that it happens for you. :-? May I ask what the hold up is.......money? insurance? what is the blockage? Anyway what ever it is, if it the will of the Lord concerning YOU.......be it done unto you.
