Problems getting financed??
mona-camille replied to prettyinblues's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Do you have a 401K you can borrrow from? If not, with horrible credit and no co-signer, I don't know what options if any, you would have. -

WOW you both look incredibly fantastic!! What a great job you have done! -
Okee Dokee. I've been getting somewhere between 10K to 14K per day anyway so I will aim for more!! But I am stuck at work today for OT. YUCK!!!!
-
Does that mean 20k in one day or for the whole weekend?

Thanks for the nice compliments because I WAS worried it might be tasteless. But, it wan't easy. It took quite a while to get the backgrounds to fit with the picture spaces and poem spaces and to look cohesive. But now that I have all the backgrounds done, it should be much easier now. I was actually worried that they were too 'busy', too much going on in the backgrounds. Thats why I made those 2 5 x 7's that are more simple and plain. So, I truly do appreciate the feedback, good and bad!

Yes, good feedback. I actually thought of that as I was putting it together. Wasn't sure how to 'deal' with it though. I think that when I was creating the backgrounds, some of them that have a choice of 2 poems, only one can be long and the other should be short. But, I didn't know of a good way to say that. Maybe I shouldn't have said that part at all. Because really, most of them can be made to fit. I could just take that part out altogether and if someone by chance picked a poem that didn't fit too well, I could always discuss that with them individually. Got any ideas?

YEAH!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!! This is great news!

Well, I have the VG band and it took me to 9.2 cc's until I felt restriction at all. So, sounds like you need more.

Eating the night before surgery.
mona-camille replied to tnm75's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I did. I had no instructions not to, so I did. I ate a wonderful Mexican lunch along with a few beers. But then, being the paranoid pauline that I am, I started to wonder if I was even allowed to drink alcohol because of anesthesia and that led into worry over gaining water weight and not meeting the required weight loss amount, and that led even further into wondering if my surgery would be cancelled and so on and soon and so on. So, what did I do? Spent the rest of the afternoon and evening drinking about 3 gallons of water hoping to flush out the nasties I shoveled in! All that did was cause me to sit on the toilet peeing the rest of the night! Am I a MORON or what?????????? None of it mattered. When I got to the OCC, I actually lost MORE than the required pounds and I was just fine. So, unless you are way over 50 BMI's, then you can eat! So go on and enjoy the Mexican Sampler from the Lucerna. My favorite!! -
You can get some anti-nauseau liquid medicine from the drugstore without a prescription.

You need dog training now! If you aren't able to get it right now, then you need to find another home for the puppy. It isn't fair to him to have you 'not like him' because of it. Your yelling at him may escalate to hitting if he keeps making you mad. And that isn't fair either - for him simply being a puppy. And it isn't fair to your other dog. Sorry to sound so harsh, but you know me, I'm the ultimate animal advocate! I wish I knew as much about dogs as I do about cats, because then I might have some tips for you, but I don't. Sorry!

Has anyone gotten sick from food or water in TJ?
mona-camille replied to ckiki's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Thats an awful lot of money to spend for something you can catch anywhere in the world, even in the USA. I wouldn't worry about that. Mexico is not a 3rd world country and you will not notice a whole lot of a difference between Southern Ca and Tijuana. Plus, I have never heard of anyone catching anything there. The OCC is immaculate! -
Well thats strange to have pain and he didn't even fill you. I would have thought you were overfilled. But, if he didn't inject fluid then I don't know. But I think I would be concerned and I would start to insist that he figure out what is wrong. Especially if 24 hoursa and you still can't swallow liquid. I wonder if your band slipped.

The problem with unsanitary water in Mexico is no longer an issue. They now have clean pure water and proper filtration. Although people are still worried about unclean water, you don't need to be anymore unless you go to some remote section of Mexico. That is not a worry in Tijuana anymore. I, however, still wouldn't have the nerve to use a street vendor. But you can do a google search on the subject and you will find that the unsanitary water problem has been corrected for several years now. They put in proper sewer and water lines along with opurification systems just like here in the states. People just don't seem to know that here and still worry. But, in case you are STILL worried, everyone has bottled water there. -
Honey, I don't understand your post. You say he couldn't find your port but then you said he filled it then unfilled it? That wouldn't be possible if he couldn't locate your port. But why fill then unfill? Usually pain like that with no ability to swallow fluid means you are too tight and need an emergency unfill, but if he already removed the fluid, then I don't know.

Repeat after me....."I will not get sick" "I will not get sick" "I WILL NOT get sick" "I will be well and healthy for my surgery" "I will be well and healthy for my surgery" "I will be well and healthy for my sugery"

Thanks for the feedback! No typos or changes? What about the price? It does include shipping, I wanted to make it all in one price, but some at work here have told me they cost too much even with postage included. I could drop $5.00 but not really anymore than that. If the vet offices buy in bulk, then I would give them a big discount. I was going to market to the high end vets so that they could give one to their own clients when one of theirs pass on. A lot of vets (around here anyway) send some sort of rememberence gift to their clients who have pets who die. But, mine are personalized so I was hoping that would be the difference.

It's not a web-page about me or anything, it's an e-commerce site for a product I make and sell. I had told some of you about it before. Well, I finally have it finished and could use some constructive feedback if you don't mind! Go to www.petlossmemories.com You can be harsh, I need honest feedback, ok? I am not trying to SELL anything here, just looking for feedback. Actually, I most likely will market to higher end vet practices or pet-bereavement groups. Still working on that part.

I've been to 3 fill doctors now and they all told me the same thing. Including Dr. Ortiz by the way. (Actually counting the OCC would add another 2 doctors on my list bring it up to 5) and they all say the same thing. With the larger VG band it does take longer and more fills. You cannot go right up to 9 or 10 cc's right off the bat. It will swell you shut. It took me 6 fills to get to 9.2 and that is my first feel of restriction. If you got 3 fills in a VG band and are at your sweet spot, you are lucky, but thats not the norm. At least according to all the doctors I spoke to about it. However, the VG band is very rare. Mostly men get it and it does take men less fills even with the VG band. Thats the difference. You can see by my signature how many fills and how many cc's it took. I've had quite a few other people with the VG band e-mail me and say they were very happy to hear my story because they were begining to feel like a failure not realizing they had a ways to go before getting restriction with a VG band. Obviously I am not speaking about everyone with a VG band, but most poeple need more fills.

Sweetie, put that sucker on when you get up in the morning and don't take it off until you go to bed!!!! The average of 10,000 steps per day according to the AHA for good heart health includes EVERY waking moment! You deserve to count ALL the steps you take and that is most likely how everyone else does it. So keep it on all day and you will see how quickly you get to 15k and blow me out of the water!!!
-
hahahahaha but it would have been funnier if they came out!!! Like the time I was in this tiny room where they were trying to teach my how to use crutches and when I tried to walk with them, I FARTED!!!! There was NO WAY I could fake anything with that. And just last week, I was in the drugstore and stifled a sneeze cuz I had no tissues and what happened instead? A HUGE fart came out! I was so embarrassed, I never ran so fast to get out of there. Laughed like mad once I was in my car though.

Dana - I can slip him in an envelope and mail him to you!! HAHAHHA he is so tiny yet. And he is not a long cat, you know the length of him is so short, he looks so compact and is irresisitably cute!!!!!! And he is such a sweetie and a snuggler. I want him too! I really wanted to snag him and kidnap him. But, I think my other 9 would claw me to death if I brought in any more!
