  1. OH YES!! I had forgotten about the new probiotic yogurts out there! They do wonders for stopping diarrhea. I think it is even in the drinkable yogurt which is ok at this stage. That stuff actually cleared up my IBS, so if anyone has that, give it a try!
  2. Try to eat something during the day, even if it is small. I know it is hard for some people to do that, but if you can just try a little like 1/2 banana or yogurt it might help the night crazy's a little. As for cravings, I still have problems with that. What I try to do, which I know is wrong, but it is the only way I can deal with it, is to have the thing I am craving and nothing else. Like last night I had a little ice cream. It was killing me that it was sitting there in the freezer yelling my name. So, I broke down and had some. Very little, but then I had nothing else. So that was my supper. I will make up for it today since I threw the rest of that darn stuff out! I don't usually keep stuff like that in my house but it was leeftover ice cream cake for my neice's birthday. But now, it is nothing more than melted glop in the botom of my drain!!
  3. Boy do I understand, I was envious and downright jealous of others too. I was feeling very left out. But, I am FINALLY HAPPY!!!! You will be too. Don't worry, It will happen!!!!!
  4. HECK NO!! No offense, but I am glad I am restricted at night, that is my worst time to eat!!! Just kidding, I know you are trying to be helpful, and I did forget about the warm drink thing. I always have coffee in the morning because I have heard others say they are very tight in the morning. I never expected that to happen at night, but I am VERY GLAD!! I will try to remember drinking something warm if I am unable to eat anything. I am just so happy that my tightness comes at night rather than in the day time.
  5. The creamy soups and pretein shakes ought to actually help the gas a little. Each day should be better and better. Are you still trying to get up and walk a lot? That helps tremendously. You'll be ok with time. My gas seemed to last a long time too, but it will end eventually. I think mine was ALL over at the end of week two.
  6. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom. Try to stay strong and try to keep a positive energy about you today. ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) Ramona
  7. They never told me 24 hours of liquid after the 2nd fill. I hope they didn't just 'forget' because I have been eating. It's all been fine and I do have lots of restriction, so I hope I didn't do any harm. All they gave me was a sheet of paper listing examples of what it feels like to be too tight and when to go for an emergency check up. I wish they would tell everyone the same thing. It's really hard when they say different things to different people.
  8. Yes, actually it was. Especially since my sister is up to 50 pounds lost, and my step daughter is at 40. I was feeling very left out and jealous. Stupid, I know, but I was definitely upset. I started a serious diet back in February so it's been a long haul so far. I think the HOT pictures will have to wait a while though. I did take before shots but haven't lost enough to show any difference yet. BUT LOOK OUT, it's coming!!!!! I am VERY excited and happy!!!! Can ya tell?
  9. Good for you, what a perfect solution. A really smart compromise! I didn't have any restriction from my first fill and got quite discouraged. But, this second one is like magic. I've never eaten so little and it feels great!! Just try to hang a little longer. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones who has restriction from the first fill. Some people do. But if not, at least you have the second one scheduled.
  10. I just got my second fill last friday. I had coffee only a few hours before the fill. He told me to go and eat and let him know how it went. Since I was not hungry yet, he said I could eat whatever time I wanted and let him know how it went. This was because I was staying an additional 2 days before going home, so I had plenty of time for an adjustment before leaving, if need be. I ended up not eating for several hours but when I did it was fine. Also, I was not told I had to go on a liquid diet for 24 hours. I was told to eat food from here on out. And this was at the OCC by Dr. So.
  11. No need to thank me honey, that is why we are here. To help others. I don't have messenger or any of that but you are welcome to e-mail me anytime for any questions you have. Hang in there kiddo and best of luck to you!!
  12. I don't think you are supposed to lift anything for the first 6 weeks and definitely not 50 pounds. Please be careful, you don't want to flip your port.
  13. YEAH CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! They are not zebra's, they are painted donkeys. A mexican cultural thing that dates back a hundred years.
  14. I am confused too as this is so opposite what I have been told previously. I sent an e-mail to Dr. Miranda asking for clarification and will post whatever she says.
  15. It's funny, I just tried food again, and it was very hard - what I mean is, GREAT RESTRICTION. But, I know I am NOT the norm. I think almost everyone has the morning problem. Honestly, I am glad I have more restriction at night though since that is my worst time. I have 3 meals a day, if you can call them that and haven't had the urge to snack. I AM SO EXCITED about that. I was so terrified that I wouldn't have the restriction everyone else had. For example today I had a cereal bar for breakfast, a small can of tuna salad with 5 crackers for lunch and for dinner I had about 3 ounces of pulled barbeque pork and 2 spoonfuls of sweet potatoes. I didn't feel the need to snack either which is a major miracle for me!! I drink flavored water and it has no calories or sugar. I can live on that stuff so I am not tempted by any other high calorie drink. I am thinking Mama Michelle is right about the fluid trying to get around the food in my pouch. That sounds like exactly what is happening and that I will have to wait longer than an hour after eating to drink. I guess that is a good thing - my pouch stays full for a good long time! Not complaining, I'm happy!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all your responses!! And for any newly banded people - don't worry, you will get restriction!!!! It might take 2 fills (like me) and you might get very discouraged (like me) and depressed (like me) but it will happen. If it can happen to me it will happen to anyone!! It took 3 months from surgery to get it and to start losing again, but please KNOW that it will happen!!! YEAH FOR ME - BANDSTER HELL HAS CONVERTED TO HEAVEN!!!!!
  16. You can hurt your band at any stage, but I am not sure why you think you are hurting yours? Eating blended soups are fine.
  17. We should have a contest!!!! I am currently in one through work. We all get the pedomter and see who an walk the furthest. We are in teams but it can be individual too! Last time they did a contest at work, our tea won. But............we pushed and pushed and were doing upwards of 30,000 a day. That equals 15 miles a day, but we were determined to win and did! THis time, we aren't in first - yet. But a contest could be fun and it can create motivation too!! Maybe that could be incorporated into a monthly challenge?
  18. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good for you!!!!
  19. Wow, that is sooo the ooposite of what she told and wrote for us previously. I wonder why she is changing her tune? It sure is hard when they tell people all different things.
  20. WOW, good for you!! Congratulations on a job well done.
  21. Sounds like a great vacation!!!!! I would love to see pictures if you have some. And don't worry about the weight, just jump back on the wagon and you'll be fine. Besides, it might be water. Whenever I travel, I get so swollen but it leaves me once I am home and back in my routine. So, hopefully, that might be the case with you too and it will come off right quick.
  22. As I wrote earlier, my second fill is great!!! And I know this is unusual, but my restriction is much greater at night, which is wonderful since nighttime is the worst time for me. I am eating very little and my band tells me when to stop. As soon as I feel pressure in the chest area, I know I have to stop. Either then, or after my first burp. Haven't PB'd yet and hoping I can tell when to stop so it won't happen. Last night I tried a roll with butter knowing most people cannot handle bread, but I am weak and needed to know if I could handle it. But alas, I cannot. I guess that is a good thing because warm rolls with butter are my downfall. But I had enough of a scare last night, I won't be trying it again. And to top it off I was in a restaurant and felt the need to escape to the bathroom in case I did PB. Left my hubby sitting there worried about me til I came back. But, the walking around pushed it through and I was fine. But twice now, when I took some sips of water (several hours after eating) I noticed that it got stuck. Isn't that weird? And it was night time. It did go down, but it was a painful process. All from water??? And being the paranoid penelope that I am, I am almost afraid of being too tight. I mean, because sometimes it takes a while for the fill to kick in. So maybe I am going to get even tighter???? I do have the larger VG band and it is at 5.8 so there is still plenty of room. Anyway, anyone ever experience this with water even though food is ok?
