  1. Once your 3 weeks are up, you can eat anything.
  2. And you have BEAUTIFUL eyes! I love looking at your picture on here because your eyes are awesome!
  3. Thanks doll, but I probably have more to lose than everyone here!! I am still at 260 now. You'de think it would come off easy, but each and every pound is a horrible struggle. I like the dog food analogy though, good one to think about.
  4. That is a fantastic amount to lose pre-op!!!! Good for you! I did pre-op for 6 weeks and could only shed 17 pounds!
  5. Not saying you are wrong, but I was allowed to do an Adkins type diet for my pre-op weight loss. With that one, you just have to start earlier. The liquid diet is for 1 to 2 weeks pre-op. The Adkins is 3 week pre-op. That comes right from Dr. Miranda, and on their web-site. Thats what I did and only switched to the liquid shakes because I was only losing 3 - 5 pounds per week and Dr. Miranda wanted me to lose more, and thought the shakes in place of meals would help. I don't know how that was expected to workk though because losing more than 5 pounds per week on anyone is next to impossible. I am thinking that a calorie is a calorie no matter where it comes from, but this is still a great question to ask of Dr. Miranda. I am just curious about your statement because I do happen to carry most of my weight in my stomach area and I did get the bigger VG band. But, Dr. Ortiz never said he had any problem with me and Dr. Miranda was happy with my weight loss which was 17 pounds pre-op. But, hey, if that is true, I'd gladly go back on shakes for 2 meals per day just to get my stomach to shrink some. I look pregnant! Just kidding, I know I can't because I am banded already, but that would have been cool if it works.
  6. Oh cool!!!! I'll look you up when I am there. My appointment is for the 27th at 10 am. I'll be with a very short girl with long blonde hair. Look for me!!
  7. Good question! I think the purpose of the shakes is because they have a lot more protein and will keep you full longer. But, not sure about that. Good question for Dr. Miranda.
  8. Better be careful about mentioning no restriction, some people on here seem to get angry when they hear this for some reason. Just kidding! Well not really, I have received lots of negative comments when I write about no restriction and needing another fill. I made an appointment at the OCC for my second fill. Flying out on the 26th and taking my neice with me for a small vacation. Then, I go home the 29th. I had decided to go back to the OCC for my second fill because at my first fill Dr. Romero told me that if I came back to him in a month, he would get my second fill just right. Then, the day after I made my reservations, I found out he left. So, although I would still vote for going back to the OCC, a weekend trip with your friend sounds like a lot of fun too!
  9. So glad to see this post!!! I thought I was the only one. Society has everyone believe that they HAVE to have some underlying emotional problem with overeating, and I know I don't! My problem is simple. I like food. I don't ever feel full enough to stop liking food. Thats it in a nutshell for me. Glad to see someone else in my shoes!!
  10. You are not drinking enough and are most likely dehydrated. That would give you stomach pains. You need to be drinking so much more than what you are doing! Believe me, that comes from 3 doctors. When I was banded, 2 days after surgery I had severe vomitting issues and it ended up being from not drinking enough and being dehydrated. I was back at the OCC twice before I could go home and each time I was told to be drinking a lot more. I can't remember exactly how much they wanted me to drink, but it was a whole lot more than what you have listed above. Like 3 to 4 times as much. I was to have at least 3 gatorades a day in addition to whatever else I was drinking. I was to have a bottle of something in my hand at all times sipping constantly. They sent me back to the hotel with a whole bag full of bottles. I realize you aren't vomitting like I was, but I can still tell from what you are drinking that it is no where near enough. Milkshakes are good and filling too. Just don't get to used to them because once you get to real food, you have to eliminate the milkshakes, but for now, they are ok. Dr. Miranda tells us not to worry about calories during this phase, so go drink MORE!!!!
  11. Try some watery cream of wheat, or even a milkshake. I know, milkshakes are bad, but one won't kill you and they do fill you up good! Or try some watery applesauce or watery mashed potatoes. I know, that last few days can be awful!
  12. Sorry, can't help you. I'm married now so I don't know.
  13. mustered up the strength to do it anyway, with eyes closed of course, that is until I stood there long enough to gather up some courage and look down and..... 3 pounds lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heck, that only took 6 weeks. 45,689 weeks to go!!!! Just kidding! But it IS about time something came off of me. I am happy!
  14. Thank you!! THis post has really given me a lot of encouragement. I have been quite upset that my first fill did nothing. I am scheduled for my second fill on June 27th and am hopeful it will be like yours this time. Thanks so much!!!
  15. And I am trying to change my signature and it is telling me I do not have access to change it. How can that be?
  16. Not sure what you are eating, but what pushed me for those last few pounds was one Adkins Advantage shake for breakfast, one for lunch and then just meat and veggies for supper. If you get ravenous in between, eat a cheese stick. One of those keeps me full for a couple of hours. Then get outside and walk. What I made for suppers was an adkins style stir fry to keep my meals from being boring. Start with butter in a pan and add chopped up chicken and stir fry that a bit. Then add mixed vegetables, I prefer a frozen bag of broccholi, cauliflower, carrots and zucchini. Once all that is combined and heated, shake in a good amount of Adobo seasoning. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM very simple but very very good to taste. No carbs, tastes great and very simple to make. My husband loves it too. He doesn't even miss his rice when I make that. When walking, make sure you are walking fast enough to huff and puff. And do it for at least 1/2 hout if not more. Thats what helped me anyway. Good luck!!!
  17. Lost 17 pounds pre-op, 8 pounds post op. None since. Going for my second fill on 6/27 so hopefully, that will do the trick.
  18. I don't think you are supposed to do anything other than walking for now.
  19. YOWZA GIRL!!! I hope you are better by now! That must have been awful! So sorry for you.
