  1. Yes, you can write it off. Makes paying out of my own pocket a bit easier.
  2. I was told by Dr. Martinez that for my first meal after the 3 week wait should be fish. It is easier to chew up and swallow than chicken or beef. So as long as the 3 weeks is up, fish ought to be just fine.
  3. We paid $5 for a cab to revolution Avenue. You will be fine to go shopping the day after surgery. It is very touristy but you shouldn't miss it!! There is also a mall down the street from the hotel close to the obesity center. My husband and I walked to it. That is a regular mall. Kind if neat because there is a courtyard and it is outside and really neat. You don't really barter for prices there as it like a regular mall and we didn't see any tourists. It was really nice. We also walked back to the hotel from the obesity center. But, I like to walk. It is easier to use just cash because it is kind if hard to figure out the differance between pesos and dollars when reconciliating your checkbook. And do not wear jewelry, they will see that and think you are rich and hound you until you buy (On Revolution ave). Learn to say NO and walk away if you are not interested. And bartering is a must on Revolution Ave. Do not pay full price for anything!! The Mexicans love to barter.
  4. And I just made an appointment for my first fill back to the center on 5/26 and am flying in 2 days before hand so I can eat some real Mexican food. Yup, I am hoping my love affair with food with be worn out by the time I get my fill!
  5. Honey, if it keeps you from lighting up, whine here all you want!! Do whatever it takes to get to that goal of being banded!! We're here to help. (((((HUGS))))) R
  6. Wear dresses!!!!! Pants are very uncomfortable after banding. I didn't get back into my pants for 2 weeks.
  7. All transporation is included. It might take a few trips to get everyone over to the center, but you will have transportation. I did walk back from the center, but only because I wanted too!
  8. Not sure why, but I am one of the few people who had no shoulder pain - yeah! In fact, I had no pain at all. Never took a pain pill. What I got in return was some crappy vomitting sessions, which are kind of rare right after surgery. It's just the strange side of me I suppose. I did have the enormous bloat in my stomach for 2 weeks and the GasX did nothing for it. But, it wasn't pain, just uncomfortable. So, you might end up being one of the lucky ones without it also. I hope so for your sake.
  9. Doesn't bother me at all. Although I can admit to some jealousy when it isn't me losing weight, LOL!!
  10. I do it every 2 days or so. It is very hard not to doit every day so I force myself to NOT do it.
  11. Bobbi!! My God, I am so sorry to hear this horror you had to experience. How awful! I am so so sorry. But, I am glad you are able to speak about it rather than hold it in and stew. I think, by talking and not punishing yourself, you are not allowing those B*****ds to win!! I think a lot of people hold it in and then that forces them to think it is so horrible they can't speak of it. But, it isn't you who should have to suffer in silence. It wasn't you fault or doing. Wow, I am so very sorry, but you know what? You'll beat them, by losing weight and looking fabulous. You have no reason to hide. And you have a good man there. He sounds like a true gem and I am very glad to have met you both. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) ))))))))) Ramona
  12. Hmmmm 2 weeks post op? Did it happen previously? Thast kind of weird if it just happened now. Could you be gulping too much at once? Try smaller sips and see if it still happens.
  13. Remember, the weight loss comes after your first fill, it is not common to lose weight now. Disappointing yes, but you are supposed to be healing, not losing yet.
  14. Hahahahahaha, thast funny Paula!! But, sounds like a good idea as long as enough time has passed that your cuts won't open up.
  15. I am not diabetic but I too have heard that this can cure your diabetes. Good luck to you tomorrow, and let us know how you made out!!
  16. Well, I won't be there until 5/26 for my fill so I won't get to meet you, but best of luck anyway!!
  17. It's funny, I feel ashamed about that now. How wrong I was!!!! The whole experience was as close to perfect as possible!
  18. The hotel does have broth, but a cup cost $5 so you may want to bring your own. I brought those little packets of Herb Ox chicken broth and tea bags and the crystal light dry mix. I ended up with tons extra. The hotel gives you 2 bottles of water a day. No, you can't take liquids through security so I just bought juice once I got through security and was waiting for my plane. You can even get drinks on the flight. You can also bring an empty bottle with you to fill with water. Ijust ate at the hotel restaurant before I was banded. And afterwards, I used my own broth. Hope this helps!!
  19. Well, this is unusual, but when I was still starting my banding journey here is the states, I joined the local band group and was weighed on this cool scale by the bariatrician. This scale records your weight, your BMI, your fat%, your body water % and you bones and flesh %. Really cool scale. What it said for me was that my bones, water & flesh, with no fat whatsoever, weighed 147 pounds. But, the doctor said that since everyone needs a tiny bit of fat in them, my ideal weight would be 150 pounds. What is unusual about this is that I am only 5'3". All the weight charts indicate that I should be around 120, so I found this odd. The doctor said it just goes to show you that those weight charts are wrong because everyone has different bone and flesh mass and my bones happen to weigh a lot more than most people of my height. Isn't that weird? Did you ever hear of such a thing?
  20. My boobies were stuck too, LOL. Had to pel them slowly away from my gut. It was funny.
  21. Hahahaha It was me who wondered if there were plants. I heard too many good things and no negatives at all. It was weird to me. But, now that I have been there for myself, I can see it is all true. No plants! Just an awesome experience.
  22. Congratulations!! I too felt 100% fine as soon as I walked through the doors. It was a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back fro my fill.
  23. Just do it!! You will be deliriously happy that you did!!
  24. Good for you, congratulations!! I have said over and over, my Mexico banding was a wonderful vacation adventure and never felt like surgery to me at all!! It was all fun!
