  1. jetdeck - no shoulder pain and no oxygen before surgery, i think some after surgery?!?
  2. If anybody can pull through this it is you...I'll be thinking about you. SJ
  3. I did and it hurt like hell a couple of times. I called OCC...it's normal since they stitch port into muscle. He said to take tylenol and use a heating pad, it wnet away for me after a couple of days. I use motrin which really takes care of pain for me. SJ
  4. Wow great article MM! It does seem to be in the news more and more....I smell a business opportunity... This makes me want to buy a bunch of floro's and build a traveling fill fleet! We all know the fill situation sucks right now...travel back to TJ or find other alternatives. All my other choices don't use floro for fills and what's up with Fill Center USA...I thought this company was built for the exact purpose I described above, but when I call them it is $395 for consult, $165 for fill and if you want floro for an additional $350 you have to get a fill then drive to the hospital for a floro AFTER the fill, defeats the whole purpose. SJ
  5. Welcome and congratulations on your progress so far! SJ
  6. I'm so glad you called and got help. I hope you have support so that you can really rest and take it easy. Thinking about you. SJ
  7. No worries snowbird...but you actually are the queen of the forum!!!!
  8. OK.. look everybody...when I brought this up I prefaced it by saying I wasn't trying to be bi*chy nor am I trying to be petty. It is a free country type however you feel. It is a generally accepted rule in most forums to not type in caps as it is considered shouting and is difficult to read, just as it is a generally accepted rule in a library to speak in a hushed voice. If you feel that typing in all caps sets you apart as an individual or you need to do it out of medical necessity...go for it. I'm a big girl (literally) I can always choose what to read or not read. I don't think I am the queen of the forum, was just trying to convey to posters who may not know about caps. SJ
  9. Boy do I ever remember week 2, I thought I was going to chew my arm off! Then week 3 came and I got real food! But no restriction, no problems, no nothing...so I guess really I'm lucky to be doing so well. I'm not worrying about it anymore and am focused on healing and preparing for fill in two weeks. SJ
  10. mm...another great find!
  11. so that means you will rock when your top matches your bottom!
  12. well said...as usual snowbird!
  13. fatcat what complaints have sunk your mood so we can try to help? SJ
  14. Thanks Kimmie, I didn't want to come across as one...it is so hard reading all caps that I tend to skip over those posts.
  15. But all caps in posts are considered shouting
  16. OMG... I caught the show tonight where he had the lady pretend to eat anchovy with hair all over it and press thumb and middle finger together to associate a disgusting feeling then mixed in chocolate with the anchovy/hair. I did the same process while she was and literally started gagging and almost barfed while creating the association! Weird! So now whenever she starts craving chocolate she presses fingers together which activates the association. She hasn't eaten chocolate in 2 months!
  17. Well for me... Tomorrow will be post op 4 weeks and I have decided to go with Clynn and quit worrying about these first 6 weeks. Weeks one and two I was surviving on fluids and feeling like hell recovering from surgery then at week 3 I was starving and started solids per guidelines and have no problem eating AT ALL. At first I was so upset because I had lost 13lbs, but lets get real I always lose that amount in the first weeks of dieting. Now I am just focusing on healing and planning and preparing for the big show down which will be after the first fill. I am not by any means gorging and stuffing my face and I definitely get full faster but I'm also not beating myself up if I eat something other than fruit, veg and protein! We're in it for the long haul! SJ
  18. Amazing...you are really sticking to it during post op aka bandster hell. WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Also...way to go on pre-op diet! SJ
  20. You will do great! SJ
  21. Teri, The transportation seems to really be an issue lately...I think that is unacceptable that you were driven into a situation like that. Hope you have a great recovery. SJ
  22. Becky Thanks for your response. However when I arrived at the airport and waited aprox 1/2 hour (which was no big deal) I called Rene and he said the driver would be there any minute (he did not mention that it would not be Francisco or Junior). A driver did show up but it wasn't Francisco or Junior...it was a non-english speaking guy holding a note paper with Ortiz written in pencil. I would never have gotten in the van with him if it were not for the two other ladies who had arrived at the same time and he seemed to know he was picking up a person with a name that sounded remotely like mine (he had a very heavy accent). I spoke with you the day before I left and voiced my concern about traveling alone and worried about getting in the van with a random person and you assured me that it would be Francisco or Junior holding a sign with my name on it, and it was not...I know that it is not your fault as you aren't located in TJ, but that is what happened. I don't think the transportation communication between Rene and arriving/departing patients is working out as well as you may think. Please help OCC work on it, as always thanks for your attention to matters. SJ
  23. Thank you for sharing your experience, I hope that you have great success! SJ
  24. They don't do any x-rays prior to or after surgery. SJ
  25. Cindy You will not fail the band. You have the desire and motivation to make it work and it will work. I bet you were a great success at dieting in the past and only failed when you could no longer sustain the rigors of a strict diet, so now that you have your little friend you will have great success it just will take some time to get everything synchronized and working right. Be patient and go easy on yourself, you will do great! SJ
