  1. Don't give up, Jacque! That weight will start coming off. Sometimes when I go weeks without losing I start to panic, but then I remember the band is here for life! I don't have to lose it all right away. I have the rest of my life to work on it and it WILL come off. Stay strong!
  2. Ouch! At least you know what to expect now! Sorry Cathy.
  3. Me too, Kim! I am starting every 2 weeks and they last a week! What is up with that? I figured it was from the weight loss.
  4. I started back up with some chunky soup and I can't for the life of me remember what I had for supper! That's sad since I dreamed about eating for 21 days! LOL
  5. Julie, you are so sweet! Daisy weighs 3 lbs now. Haha She will probably be about 5 lbs full grown. I will tell you one thing, she is a mean little joker! Her attitude is way bigger than her body! I promise when I hit goal I will change my name to that! LOL I still have around 40 lbs to go! I am hoping to lose it by Christmas. I have started walking 2 miles a day and I can tell I am gaining some muscle weight.
  6. I think saying half or more is way too high. Most people here gained back a max of 2-3 lbs.
  7. 1. You can do walking right after surgery, but anything with abs has to wait 3 months. I walk 2 miles a day and that is how I get my exercise. 2. My fill Dr. has a nutritionist talk to me when I go for my fills. I have alot of willpower so I really know I will never revert back to eating like I did. I still slip sometimes, but when I do I work harder the next day. 3. I wore loose clothing. Alot of the women here take a sports bra with them too. 4. Michelle posted the post-op diet around here somewhere. It is simple..just liquids for 21 days and then on to solids. 5. I drink tons of water daily. It doesn't bother me. 6. There is no mushy food stage. Mushies are a no-no. You stay on liquids and then straight to solids. I hope these helped some!
  8. Donna~ I have been overweight my entire life. I was always the biggest of all my friends. To be honest with you, I was sick of it! I wanted more energy to play with my kids and dangit I just wanted to be thin for once in my life! I made my mind up after I saw pics of myself at my son's birthday party in January. I could hardly stand to even look at them. I started researching the band in February and had surgery March 28th. I have lost 60 lbs since then. (15 on my pre-op diet and 45 since surgery) It is by far the best decicion I have ever made for myself. By the way, now I am one of the smaller ones of all my friends! LOL Woo!!
  9. I think this will help us get an idea of how differently the band works for everyone. I thought we could post our band date and how many lbs we are down. Banded March 28th so 4 months and a week I have lost since surgery date 45 lbs That averages a little over 10 lbs a month.
  10. Anything without carbonation is fine EXCEPT for those calories. I think the main reason I lost weight so quickly is because I drink no calories. It used to be tough, but I am used to it now. I only drink water, unsweet tea, or coffee with sweetener. I am not gonna lie, I have had a few milkshakes in this hot South MS weather, but I always feel terrible afterwards. Do you know a McDonald's SMALL shake has over 700 calories? That made me stop that really quick! LOL
  11. Don't worry. It will start coming off! Lance mentioned to me he was going out with Cara Saturday night to someone's Birthday party. Are you going? I told him your band is a secret so he won't say anything! LOL
  12. I do the same alot. I think I PB alot more than most people who are banded. The only way I can describe it is when I was pregnant with my daughter she was so high up that she had pressure on my stomach. I could eat fine, but then it seemed like just one extra bite and that was all she wrote. I immediately had to get that last bite of food out and fast. Now with the band, when I eat that bite X, I immediately can't breathe, I can't swallow my spit, and I have to PB several times. It comes up as a little bit of food mixed with the spit that I couldn't swallow. (Sorry so gross) I worry about my band alot, because I have had more days that I PB than days that I don't. On another note, sometimes I will go weeks where I can eat anything. I just don't get it!
  13. My friend is an herb nut and she told me about a few things I could take to help boost my weight loss. Her Mother and Grandmother both takes no RX's and only take herbs. They are both healthy as a horse! I am currently taking Flax Seed Oil (for my cholesterol, blood pressure, overall health) It has Omega 3,6,and 9 in it. I am also taking Energizer for my hair/skin/nails. It has B6, B12, Zinc, Niacin, Biotin in it. The last thing I take is a Green Tea Herbal Metabolizer. I have always had a slow metabolism so I am hoping this herb will speed up the process and help my body burn more calories. My problem is that one of them is making me feel sick all day. It is like a nauseous, pit of your stomach sickness. I have to figure out which one it is. I feel 100% better since I started taking them and I really hate to stop any of them. They give me tons of needed energy that I have been lacking since I started losing weight. My friend told me it may be the Zinc in the Energizer hair pills.
  14. Thanks girls! Trina~Have you lost any more weight?
  15. Good luck with your fill to both of you! It looks like you answered your own question. I haven't been back to the OCC for a fill so I am not quite sure what their routine is.
  16. I have found that I have not learned yet to order something small when I go out. In the back of my mind, I know I can't eat a meal like I used to but I guess old habits die hard! Yesterday we went to eat Mexican for lunch. (Our Mexican lap bands make us crave it, right? LOL) I had about 5-6 chips and salsa. I used to could eat two baskets full. My chicken taco salad came and I ate two bites of it. Two bites! I was so full that I had to go to the restroom and spit the 2nd bite back up. It was so good too..I really wanted to eat it. My point is, I am still learning. I should have skipped the chips and salsa so I could have enjoyed my taco salad more.
  17. RESTRICTION!!!!!!!!! I am not sure if my fill 2 weeks ago just kicked in, if the virus I had caused it, or if God if smiling down on me....but I can only eat like 3-4 bites and I am full! I thought yesterday was a fluke, but it is still here today! WOO! WOO!
  18. Wow! I must have missed her posts. I hope she comes back.
  19. Welcome! The band will work for you if you work with it. Have a safe trip!!
  20. Bless your heart! We have all been there at one time so we all know the pain of the 21 day liquid diet. It sucks! You will survive, though...YOU CAN DO THIS!! It cracks me up that you want to bite the cows in your pasture. LOL!!
  21. Congrats to both of you. Stay strong on the liquid diet. I strongly believe it will tell the outcome of how successful you will be with the band. Good luck!
  22. Go Cathy! Woo!! Woo!! How exciting!
