  1. That is hilarious!! I pictured the whole thing in my head! LMAO!
  2. Oh yeah..it's the same for me. I think we just have to be patient now with the slow loss although it sucks! This is the time I would have given up before, but now that I have my band I know I have to keep going.
  3. You have to make your mind up that this is what you want. The Pre-Op diet is just the beginning of a long road ahead that will depend on your willpower. The band is there to help us, however I still have to use willpower everyday of my life. You can do this. Wake up tomorrow and tell yourself you are ready to lose this weight and be healthy for your family. Good luck! Stay strong!
  4. That's pretty cool! OMG MM..I just saw you reached the 170's! That is awesome!
  5. We paid to have our pic taken on the donkey/zebra. I felt sorry for it. Our crazy friend Christie wanted to ride it..and she did. LOL Christie is on the donkey, then my BFF Lance, me, and my Aunt Susan. We were all banded the same day. Can you tell we had fun on Revolution Ave?
  6. I got to thinking today and was wondering how many people keep their band a secret? Sometimes I tell people in the checkout line at Walmart. LOL (It's a Southern thing..we would talk to a brick wall) I feel like I need to tell the world. I do see how some people can be hurtful though and I would see why you would keep it a secret. So far everyone has been really open and helpful with my new habits.
  7. My Dr. office makes you wait 6-8 weeks, but I sweet talked them into letting me come back at 4 weeks this time. I think everyone is different. Call where you get your fills and see.
  8. Thanks Ute! And thanks to everyone else who added me today.
  9. I eat them sometimes, but mainly I eat what I cook. I still have a shake for breakfast, a can of campbell's soup for lunch, maybe an activia or a protein bar for a snack and a small helping of what I cook for supper.
  10. You poor thing! I haven't experienced anything like that yet, but it sounds like you are too full. Call the OCC and see what they say. You should be able to keep some solids down by now.
  11. I am trying to organize all my lap band friends into a category on myspace. I have several of you on there already, but if you have a myspace and haven't added me yet..here is my page. My Myspace
  12. I miss bread alot, but I absolutely loved my Coke. I miss Coke, Dr. Pepper, and Root Beer. I shudder at the thought of drinking one of those high calorie, pure sugar drinks now..but I dang sure miss them! Especially a fountain Dr. Pepper from McDonalds....oh somebody help me! LOL
  13. It sounds like you are doing good! Just remember you probably won't have much restriction when your swelling goes down until your first fill.
  14. LOL Michelle! I think I'll pass!
  15. YUMMY! Filet Mignon sounds scrumptious!
  16. Hey Ute! Thanks for asking. I haven't had any solids yet, but I may tonight. Last time it took about a week for my fill to kick in so I don't have any high expectations just yet. I will let ya'll know as soon as I feel it though. Oh and I tricked my office and have two more fill appts during the next month. I learned how to play their game. Give me tiny fills and I will come twice a month! LMAO! I am so bad!
  17. Yay! I hope you get a great fill and have a huge smile! You deserve it!
  18. I wear a tankini too. After about 6 weeks (normal healing time) I started tanning them. My incisions look really good.
  19. I was wondering how you are doing on solids now. What did you eat for your first meal? I need details!
  20. Welcome vix! The pain after the surgery is very minimal. The trapped gas hurts worse. We were up and at em the very next day and shopped for 12 hours in San Diego! You will be fine. Take care and keep us updated!
