  1. OMG I love grits. The thing to making grits taste good is lots of low fat butter and salt and pepper. You can usually buy quaker instant grits at he grocery store. I am not sure if they even sell them up north though.
  2. I do too. I had stopped for awhile, but when I stop weighing everyday I tend to eat more. As long as I am getting on those scales I watch what I eat more closely.

  8. I must have missed something, because I have no clue what this is about. However, I have learned that all message boards are the same. I have been an Admin of a Mommy board for 4 years now and there are just so many different personalities and opinions and there is bound to be drama. I really find this community very supportive and I simply adore all my lap-band friends. I hope we can get past this and go on with our supportive ways. By the way..Cathy I think you are terrific!! >

  11. Cathy~ Mine took 43 minutes. I was the same as you. I had no desire to eat or drink. I actually had to drink teaspoons of water from a bowl to keep myself hydrated. Try that if you start to feel weak.

  14. I just wanted to let everyone know that I busted my butt this week working out and drinking water all day long and those 4 lbs are gone! I am now back at 194 and looking forward to losing more.

  17. I am gonna be honest with you. When I first came across the OCC site I thought to myself, "There is no way in Hell I would go to Tijuana to have surgery!" I came on this message board, read the testimonials, called Lori (who is a sweetheart) and booked my plane ticket and surgery the next day. It was the most wonderful experience of my life. Not only did I get to see another part of the world, I also had top notch care from every person I came across during my journey. I would recommend the OCC to anyone. Good luck with your decision!

  19. OMG yes! I carry a small bag in my purse and one in my car! LOL
  20. Everybody please add what works for you. 1. My bestfriend is my George Foreman grill. No more fried foods in this house. If I can't cook it on the lean, mean, fat reducing machine then it doesn't get cooked! 2. Stay away from all fast food. If you must eat fast food, go with a salad with low calorie dressing or a grilled chicken wrap. 3. Water! Drink it until you think you are gonna puke. LOL 4. Put your food in a saucer instead of a large plate. You will be amazed that you get full from a smaller amount of food. 5. Cut out sweets altogether if possible. Empty calories like this only make you want more and they do not keep you full. 6. Have a protein bar as a meal replacement. I usually eat one daily for lunch and then down 2 bottled waters an hour later. It keeps me full until supper. 7. Do not graze. Eat three solid meals a day and DRINK YOUR WATER! 8. Sometimes I mistake thirst for hunger. Get you a huge cup of crushed ice and munch away. It will give you the chewing you need and help with the thirst. 9. If you like Gatorade, drink the G2 instead of the regular. It has 1/3 of the calories of regular Gatorade. 10. I can rarely eat bread without PBing, so I steer away from it completely and really don't miss it much! 11. Get off the couch! I have found it is hard to get started, but once I do I feel 100% better. 12. Get your fills. Remember, the band won't work without them! That's all I can think of for now. I would love to hear what works for other people.
