    I try to eat my protein first and then the rest of my food if I can hold it down. I eat protein bars for lunch and just drink alot of water.

    Michelle you look awesome! Your teeth are gorgeous! =D> Sorry you had to have an unfill. I have that much restriction with just 1cc. You know my band has always been tight though since the beginning. I hate that feeling after you eat when you can't even swallow your spit. I do that at least once a day. It sucks!

    I really have restriction! I am so excited. I went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant for Mother's Day today and I ate about 1/4 of my fajita and had to bring the rest home. I am really happy with my band. I just thought I would update everyone that hasn't had it done yet..it is the best thing I ever did! =D>

    Since my band only holds 4cc I thought that 1cc was pretty good for my first fill. I will get a fill every 6 weeks until I hit my sweet spot. The $1500 includes their dietician help, post-op teaching, support groups and fills. I had no other choice since I can't afford to go back to Mexico every time I need a fill. I have two small children I can't leave also. This Dr is in my town and he has done surgery on me in the past so I feel very comfortable with him.

    Michelle~ He did not use fluoro, but he told me 1cc is the standard for a first fill. He will fill me every 6 weeks until I feel I can only eat 1/3 of what I used to. Thanks for posting that pic! LOL I can really see it in my face too! Thanks everyone for the sweet replies! > 2fat4me~I use Dr. Avara in Ocean Springs which would be about an hour or so West of Gulf Shores on I-10. He charges $1500 for a full year of fills.

    I am using a local Bariatric surgeon for my fills and he was great! He even knew Dr. Ortiz! He put 1cc in my band and I go back next month. I didn't even feel the needle go in. It was a breeze!

    Most of us here have been banded at the OCC in Tijuana. I was concerned about going to Mexico until I joined this forum and all my worries disappeared. The OCC by far surpasses any treatment I have had in the USA. They are amazing! Good luck with your decision. >

    I am having a horrible time not drinking when I eat. I love to drink when I eat. I know it defeats the purpose of the band, but it is a hard adjustment. (

    I had vomiting issues and I still cheated a little. LOL I stayed on all liquids with no cheating for the first two weeks though and the third week I started experimenting with food. I had a milkshake about 2 weeks post-op...threw it up. I am almost 4 weeks post-op and some foods still do not stay down. I have to eat very bland foods and I don't seem to be able to tolerate bread, peanut butter, sweet stuff or milk.

    I am sorry Michelle. I was hoping you would have more restriction, but hopefully after one more fill it will be better. Stay strong! You are an amazing person!
