I PBed daily when I started solids and I was worried about my band, however I just couldn't see going all the way back to Mexico for a fill. I have only had blind fills, which doesn't bother me much because you can actually hear the "pop" when the needle penetrates your port.

I know what you are saying. The fill Dr. I went to in New Orleans told me that with my large frame he couldn't see me getting below 150 and looking healthy, but my crazy fill Dr. here in MS has me at a goal weight of 137. I am trying not to consume myself with a number, but rather at how I feel good and look good!

I just wanted to share my story while we are on reflux. I have been on Prilosec/Nexium since I was 18 years old for severe acid reflux. Dr. Martinez told me I would never have to take it again after I had my lap band and sure enough I haven't had one since March 28th! The lap band completely cured my reflux!

I wanted to add..every pound is a milestone at this time in my weight loss. The days of losing fast leave when you are close to goal. I hope and pray I can reach 170 by Oct.1st like I want to..but that's pushing it!

I am so excited for you!! All I want is a boob job, but I am gonna wait until next Summer. Hopefully all my weight will be gone by then.

Yes, I just noticed that after the swelling was gone I had no more restriction. I just now (at 2.3cc's) feel the type of restriction I felt in the weeks following my surgery!

Mona~ I think you are confused as to what I was saying. Both my band and my friend Lance's band are half full. Are you saying that 5 cc's in a 10 cc band is less than 2cc's in a 4 cc band? They are both half full, right? How is that not the same? By the way, my friend Lance only has 5cc in his 10cc band and he can barely eat anything. Some people do have resriction with their VG band when it is half full. Each individual is different.

The band size is according to your fat around your stomach. A man or a woman can have the VG Band, however most men who get banded will always receive the VG Band. I am sure that is what Dr. Martinez and Jessica meant. As for the fills, the amount equals about the same. I have 2cc my band (holds 4cc) and my friend Lance has 5cc (holds 10cc) in his. So even though we have different size bands, after having the same fills we both have our bands half full.

I am not the best at keeping up with my vitamins or protein and I get dizzy headed alot too.

I had really good restriction from the band alone for about 6-8 weeks..then all of a sudden it was gone.

I was a little nervous he would see that I had more saline in my band after my trip to New Orleans, but what luck that for the first time ever he didn't check! LOL He just looked on my chart at what I had previously and added .3 cc. He thinks I have 1.8 cc now, but I really have 2.3cc. He also told me some crazy things I wanted to share: 1. Okay you have about as much saline as you are gonna be able to handle. (How is that when it holds 4cc) 2. You have lost 60% of your body fat so the band is not gonna help you anymore. You are gonna have to do it on your own. (HUH????) He said I have done better with the band than most of his patients. I wanted to ask him if that was because he doesn't fill them right? LOL He said to get the last 30 lbs off I am gonna have to work out like crazy and even eat less than what I have been eating. The last 30 are the hardest to get off. Ugh..I am dreading trying to get these last lbs off. I have been struggling for a couple of months now.
