  5. ahhh.. I needed that laugh tonight! Thank you
  6. WOW.. I too feel like I cannot eat b/4 2-5pm.. then I feel like I need to eat eat eat because that's when I can get most of my nutrients in.... I rarely am able to eat b/4 2-4pm and it's only soup, protein shake, maybe yogurt and if I'm lucky a hard boiled egg mashed up with a smidge of mayo.... but come evening time sometimes I'm able to pig the crap out and eat like 2 turkey burger patties *never never can I eat bread* and other times even in the evening I am praying to the porcelin god after 2 bites.. I wish wish wish I had more restriction in the evening.. i am totally fighting with myself to make good food choices in the evneing/nights i can eat.
  7. beatriz I know Evette had some issues with HICCUPS... I'm sure she will chime in. I now have some major DEEP burps that feel like they come from the depths.... but hiccups are normal
  8. Carrie Don't despair.... it's perfectly NORMAL for you to gain a few after being off liquids and b/4 your first fill... you WILL succeed. I promise~! I've read your post and I know how dedicated you are ..... this is bandster "hell" and it may take more than 1 or 2 fills so please don't put all your eggs in the "first fill" basket.. continue to make healthy choices, exercise and it WILL happen. xoxox blesss up
  9. Jeremy Welcome to our group, glad you joined us. We will all be here for you through the good, bad, highs and lows. Welcome and we look forward to following you on your lapband journey.! woo hooooooo One love
  10. I'm having the same issue... not drinking nearly enough water b/4 surgery I drank at least 64-90oz per day.. now sometimes at night I'll be like holy crap I haven't drank any water today.. I'm working on it
  11. I definitely can eat more at night.... this evening I had a bowl of soup prob 9oz and 2 -100 calorie packs of cheetooos.. my weakness if puffy cheetoooosss... i am on my 2nd fill.. I can't eat till the evening though... pretty much warm liquids :& soups during the day but come evening I really have to watch myself.
  12. Congrats on the 2lb loss! woo hoo =D> I hear ya on the liquid vitamins.. I have liquid b12 and it is sooo nasty.. just smelling it makes me want to gag! I mix it w/ water and I feel like I can taste it the rest of the day. #-o
  13. WOO HOOOOO :lb21: isn't that a GREAT feeling! May all your meals be restricted.
  14. speaking of Vodka... yesterday I bought absolute PEAR vodka... oh my is it yummy... on the rocks with a little twist of lemon/lime ..... delish... it's my new dessert.
  15. Amber :lb21: You are doing great! Thanks for the update, I look forward to hearing more. :sun_bespectacled:
  16. Congrats on your 22lb weight loss! That IS something Everyone is different but here's what happened to me. I was banded 3/24/08. Date of surgery I was 276. After the 21 days of liquids followed by the soup phase weighed in at 262. Before my first fill I was able to eat large portions of almost everything and really had to be conscious of my food. I thought my first fill woudl "fix it" and give me the portion control I needed.. sooo.. went back to TJ on 5/13 (6 weeks) and had 1.8cc's in my band. Came home and had restriction for about a week. Please also note that I weighed 262 when I returned for my first fill. AFter a week I knew I needed a 2nd fill and scheduled one locally 6/6.. went and had 2nd fill and now have 2.5cc's in my band. ( I also weighed 262 at 2nd fill) WOW what a difference with my 2nd fill. It's been a little over a week and I've dropped 3lbs...! I now have portion control.. there is NO WAY around it.. I CANNOT eat more that my little pouch can hold or I throw up. That's it, I throw up and it's nasty so I avoid it at all costs. Please be patient and do NOT thinnk you wasted your money/time/energy etc.... It's not a quick fix, it takes time.. I won't say it's a "tool" (that's for you mona) :-h ) but seriously it is something to "assist" you in your weight loss.. It sounds like you are making healthy food choices and are discouraged that the weight's not coming on quickly.. please don't give up. Take it day by day. Continue making healthy choices and know that when you get to "sweet spot" you WILL feel the restriction you're wanting. I promise, it WILL happen. Even though I have not yet lost a "ton" of weight I am EXTREMELY happy / satisfied / pleased with my band because without it, as I've posted before, I know without a doubt I would be tipping the scales at 300lbs right now. Don't give up, Don't give up DON'T GIVE UP!! Also.. don't compare your fill with anyone else's.. Everyone is different and while we all want a "good fill" our first time that's just not the way it works for everyone. You posted in the right place, everyone will have lot's of feedback / advice for you. :lb4: We are here for you day, night, rain or shine. :give_rose:
  17. I have had the same experiences.. when I am stressed/upset/angry/sad etc.... I instantly get MORE restriction... last week I was having and argument with my BF and then tried to eat a small salad and after 2 bites I knew that it was gonna come right back up. I really really have to make a conscious effort to take small bites, chew, rest, then take another bite... old habits die hard.. I'm a foodie and eating fast always met that I could eat other stuff sooner.. it's a hard habit to break. I'm sorry to hear abour your experience but thanks to EVERYONE for sharing their experience. {{{{ HUGS }}}}}
  18. LOVE the dress, can't wait to see the progress pics. Keep up the good work!
  19. ohhh.. I lLOVE LOVE LOVE my magic bullet... it's great because right now I really can't get anything really solid down till the afternoon... .so it's great for a morning smoothie / protein drink mixed with ice for a "shake" or mango margarita.. oops.. I don't usually have that for breakfast but I do have it for dessert!
  20. I have a wii and have been wondering about the wii fit...... very very tempting.. and I have a costco membership.. hmmmm... Thanks for the info!
  21. I was able to eat bread after being banded until my first fill. After my first fill it got stuck a couple times and I started avoiding it, I would still have it about 1-2x a week and it was fine. I got my 2nd fill last Friday and let me tell you.. NO BREAD... even little tiny bites don't work for me. What do I eat instead of bread... POLENTA.. has anyone else discovered this yet?? OMG! I buy it at Trader Joes, it's by the rice .. It comes in a tube, it's fat free/gluten free, low sugar and really just fabulous! I slice it into about 1/4" slices , spray a pan w/ olive oil then fry up each side.. I salt, pepper, garlic season etc.. and after they fry and each side about 4minutes each I top it with salsa OR I use it in my soup in place of crackers or bread... it goes down well and really satisfies my need for bread stuff. If it's my meal I will cook up 3 or 4 pieces and top them each with a little bit of cheese.. mozz, blue, cheddar, whatever I have.. just a little and then eat it. I can eat corn tortillas and at some times a corn tortillas. I feel waaay less bloated, gassy etc... since I've stopped eating bread.
  22. Kimmi thanks for posting this!! love it!
  23. Cathy Glad to hear you are home, the gassy feeling will be with you for awhile Look forward to your progress report.
  24. GREAT family pics! You look HOT! sizzling! xoxoxo
