Hey all April 10th bandster!! Can you believe that we are 3 weeks post-op!!! YEAH!!! I am so excited to get back to the gym and start working out again! I am going to Spin in the morning and will probably get my butt kicked because it's been so long!!! Have a great day...and wishing that solids go down smoothly. Brook

It was sooo easy! I was a little worried too, but they simply asked me what I was bringing back from Mexico, looked at my documents and sent me through. We actually got to the parking lot before the van. No worries! Brook

Hi there! I know what you are going through. I was banded April 10th and it just barely sank in.....not kidding. The days went by so fast before the surgery date that the next thing I knew I was 10 days away and now I am 3 weeks post-op!!! I have had a great recovery if that is even what you want to call it. I totally agree with Michelle! I am just ready for some different types of foods. Soup is great....but ready for something else. I really hope that the solids get better for you Denise. The band isn't meant to hurt us, just keep us in check. I have only had real mushy food as of yet (cottage cheese mostly) but your experience makes me kind of scared to start solids again. I will let you know how is goes on Thursday when I have breakfast. Something other then EAS? Get outta town!! Thinking of you Denise! <' /> Brook

I know Denise just a few more days until we can eat solids! YEAH!!! Although, I have started eating a little bit, chewing very good..... Can't wait to eat again...in moderation.

I also got my hair cut the day before I left to go to TJ. I got about 6 inches cut off and it feels great!!! I recommend it to anyone. >

I paid for a private room. After, when I had a semi-private, I called Carolyn and she is sending me a $250 refund. Honestly, I would do semi-private again because the $250 is going to be my plane ride back for my fill..... Unless you request a semi-private you will get a private. It was a little more noisy (snoring) but I got to talk to more ladies...

Hi again! I did the same thing...I wanted to binge eat very badly. I started my pre-op about a month before my surgery date and never had to deprive myself from meals. Slim fast for breakfast and lunch and then a nice meal for dinner. I didn't stuff myself every night, but it made "dieting" bearable. I miss eating.........only 7 more days until i can start solids..... ( I really want them NOW!!! I was also exercising very often (5-6 days/wk) and ended up losing 14 lbs pre-op. I am at 23 gone for good!! Good luck

I arrived at the SD airport around noon on Thursday. By the time I got to the clinic it was close to 2. The pre-op's and everything else it was 3, while I was getting my blood drawn Dr. Ortiz came over and asked me if I wanted to be banded today. Myself and Sara (tatts) were both banded Thursday. My advice would be take the later flight eat 7 hours before your plane is suppose to land in SD (because it took about one hour to get luggage and across the border) and then after you get there see if they have room to band you. I had a semi-private room, if you don't mind that you should be golden. Although, the very sweet nurses slept on either side of me and it was a little noisy. So I was up walking at 4am, glaring at the closed doors of the other ladies there. That is just my advice, good luck with whatever you choose. :-h Brook

I am wondering if I cheated this morning. I made some cream of wheat breakfast "soup". I drank it through my kids' bowls that have straw attached to it. After I ate I felt full and satisfied. No pain, just wondering if that was a no-no food. If it is I won't have it anymore. Thanks to all. Brook

I do think that I may have a touch of low iron. I am trying to gag down my vitamins everyday but it's easy to skip them when they are so nasty! :lb12: Chris is the same way, Denise, he like the snuggling but hates when I put a cold foot or hand on him. It has turned into a fun game tho. I haven't really thought about when I am going down to get my fill. I am going to play it by ear until I can start solids and see what my restriction is like. Most likely the 6 or 7 week mark. I know that I want to maybe spend a weekend with tatts for a girls night..... :lb21: Brook

Howdy all! Lora- So sorry to hear that you are getting headaches!! When I first started the pre-op I had bought some "shakes" that had the artificial sweetener in it and I would have a headache all day! It might be something that you are eating that your body just doesn't like! So I switched to EAS and I am doing Slim fast right now for a change and haven't had 1 headache. Good luck with finding what is the matter. Other then that are you feeling well? Teeny- I can't wait to hear what you find out about the vitamins. The liquid ones make me gag too. My husband thinks that I need more vitamins because I am cold all the time now. I tease that I am not used to not having as much insulation.. Has anyone else found themselves getting cold faster? I was scheduled to go straight to the OCC from the airport. My flight was scheduled to get in SD at noon. Thinking that I should fast 8 hours before one o'clock I did. After we got to the OCC, the other people got their pre-op done and it was my turn it was close to 3. So I was wishing that I would have ate a whole breakfast burrito and a coffee at 7 that morning because I was STARVING!!! Then they let me do the surgery that day and I was glad!! Good luck with your surgery! Just add 1.5 hours to the time that you are suppose to land in SD that you will be getting your pre-op. Then subtract the 8 hours from then. Eat a good meal too. I wish that I would have...... Brook

I had an ok experience on Rev. Ave. I bought a couple of earrings and a couple of bracelets but they acted a little rude if I bartered too much. A couple of the places that I went was like I only get a dollar now...how am I suppose to support my family? I really don't like that and was a little uncomfortable if they were telling the truth or not. I am glad that I had my husband with me because almost every place we stopped they referred to him as the "bodyguard". :girl_haha: I wish that we would have walked down to the mall also. Brook

I do have a wonderful husband......I am so glad that he was there with me! I felt bad because after I got out of surgery I started waking up a little hysterical and couldn't really focus on him for a little while. After I finally came to I walked one lap and got really light headed and went back to my bed and was out for the night. He said he stayed there for like 3 hours and then finally went to the hotel....

I know that you might have already gone in by now but maybe someone who reads this will know. What is the life span of the LapBand? I know they say lapband for life but does that mean the same band? Thanks

I totally agree with you Denise about waiting and waiting and then everything going so fast! Specially for Sara and I because we had it done the same day that we got there. I am so thankful that they let me have the surgery on Thursday instead of Friday. Even though when I seen the ladies the next morning waiting for us to leave I thought.......I wonder what they ate last night........BAD I know. I have had a love affair with food for so long it's kind of hard not to think about it all the time. But I am loving it!!! I made the tortilla soup for breakfast and LOVED it!!! I feel so good today!
