Sooo...I can eat tomorrow!
Jacklynrae replied to Kim2BSlim's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Congrats Kimmie. I know it has been a long, challenging road and you rock for being so strong! Can't wait until I join you. Hope everything stays going smooth for you. -
How often do you weigh?
Jacklynrae replied to Kim2BSlim's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I am with you Kimmie, with the newness I have been on the scale every day or every other day. Hopefully we can calm down when we realize it will be coming off as we do our best. But MammaMichelle that is a wonderful idea about the twice a week. My weekend habits tend to be very bad also so I might have to adopt your plan! Thanks so much both of you, we are all a bunch of kids in a candy store...ready to get that weight off! Good luck Jacklyn -
Wow that makes so much sense! Thank you so much! It may sound silly because all during my shoulder pain I was wondering how on earth the gas got pushed all the way up there so glad to get an educated opinion on what it could be. Very useful, Thank you! Jacklyn

OK so when does this glue come off my belly?
Jacklynrae replied to 2fat4me's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I was banded on the third and started putting neosporin on the cuts at one week and plan to start using mederma at 2. My glue is also still on but I just now started peeling little bits off. I wouldn't be too gung ho about getting it off as you want to be sure that it is fully healed I would wait until 2 weeks before you start worrying too much. Besides keeping it moisturized for now should help to avoid scars. I know the glue makes it feel and look a lot worse than it should but healing is the most important part for now. I have found that when it is ready to be lightly scrubbed getting a washcloth with warm soapy water helps get the job done. Good luck and it will all work out in the end. Jacklyn -
I am among the group that didn't get any relief of the "pain pills" but I found that the liquid Tylenol helped tons. The adult flavors are so gross, but the children's flavors are way more tolerable. I took those instead and it really helped me out. I know the first few days are really uncomfortable so hope you get a chance to down some liquid help haha! Good luck! Jacklyn

Jacklynrae replied to trulytangledgrl's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
It will fly by super fast. If you get your passport paper work in now I am sure it will be here in plenty of time. Don't worry just relax and really focus on the amazing change you are about to make in your life. I am so excited for you...good luck! Jacklyn -
You can do it!! You have already gone through so much and this will be the icing on the cake! Good luck and be confidant because you are working towards the rest of your life. God bless, Jacklyn

what my fill feels like
Jacklynrae replied to Mackenzie's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
That gives me a huge sigh of relief just knowing that everything is going to be great. I am so happy for you and your band! I agree every once in awhile won't kill you and after all if you can't have that special treat every now and then its not going to be life. But good luck with your fill and I hope everything goes smoothly for you! Good luck and God bless, Jacklyn -
yes yes yes we all have issues and MammaMichelle is so right just learn to think about other things besides food. It is not easy, but this is the start of a brand new life. You can do it and remember you have all of your bandies to help support you. It will all work out you can do it! Good luck Jacklyn
-
Yes Kimmie congrats I am so excited for you! And I see you are getting ever so close to that awesome "Onederland"! Keep up the good work! Jacklyn

I also thought it was 2 weeks. My wonderful hubby bought me an elliptical and I could have sworn drs said 2 weeks before I could use it. Does anybody else know? I was planning on starting this week, but don't want to do any damage. I feel pretty good and want to get back in the habit.

Is swimming allowed after banding?
Jacklynrae replied to Alana's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Ya'll crack me up! Yes even after working at a pool, cleaning pools, training lifeguards in pools I still find them pretty disgusting haha. I think 2 weeks is a good idea especially to help the incisions heal with minimal scarring. -
Couldn't agree with you more Blazn...don't over pack. My husband and I only had one bag for the both of us that we could have check had it not been that blasted liquid rule and we still over packed. Honestly when you do go to OCC for your surgery you don't need anything I took my shower stuff but I or any of us for that matter of us had time/felt like going to the shower down the hall. I didn't smell too funny....just took one once back at the hotel.

Is swimming allowed after banding?
Jacklynrae replied to Alana's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
That could be because being a pool manager I was much more focused on the amount of time for being in the pool and of course my elliptical that my wonderful hubby bought me! So maybe I just had one week on the brain! -
Ok so I just threw up...
Jacklynrae replied to MamaMichelle's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
That is so true MammaMichelle old habits do die hard and it seems that they are always tested in awkward situations. (throwing up in the crowded airport haha) But don't worry about the chicken fingers and wine....I'm sure we have all done it at some point....or worse! Oddly enough it sounds pretty good right now...could just be the bandster hell talking tho! good luck and I hope you feel better, Jacklyn -

Jacklynrae replied to Alana's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
No the doctors ask you to wait one week before you swim or go into a hot tub! It is very beautiful so maybe u can dangle your feet but one week minimum! -
Ok so I just threw up...
Jacklynrae replied to MamaMichelle's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Wow, I agree your picture is stunning you look beautiful. But that is a very weird experience and I bet you are right, the combination of the greasy food which you aren't used to any more and the glass of wine which is probably alot for your system to handle right now took its toll. But everyday we can learn something new and thank you MammaMichelle from saving us all from a horrible experience due to chicken nuggets and wine haha! On another note I too had a odd experience the day after my surgery at the airport. I was feeling very yucky and was forcing myself to sip sip sip but after a couple of minutes I all the sudden became way nauseated and my mouth started watering and we all know what that means. In a bout two second I had burp/threw up/PB I dunno but it luckily was just a small amount of water and haven't had an incidence since. So was this a PB? It didn't cause any pain but was very awkward, especially in the middle of a crowded airport! God bless and keep up the great work Jacklyn -
Hey Brook! Ok you need your original paperwork that you filled out. Wedding rings are fine my husband and I walked over an hour around Revolution Blvd with 3.5K on my finger and .5k in my ears never a problem. Police were abundant around the area also. I carried a purse with me sometimes and left it in the room others. Never had any problems with being harassed or even people getting too close like in many foreign nations. I was also terrified especially all the brutal things that you do hear about Tijuana but I never felt anything but comfortable and secure the entire time. You will be pleasantly surprised about the cleanliness and modernization, from the hotel you can see a Starbucks and a Dominoes pizza so its not a slum. They like American money and be sure to take ones and fives for tipping in such. Good luck and you will do GREAT! Anything else you just let me know. God bless, Jacklyn

Clynn you crack me up! I think I would actually prefer meatsicles or even meatlollies to another protein shake. YUCK! Thanks all for your help. Of course I can't get into the habit of blending food, but thanks for the advice Dolittle. I just want to stick to my post-op diet of course and also get the recommended amount of protein. I'm so excited about soups now its almost a sad thought not to be able to eat them later on, but as they say nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!! God Bless Jacklyn

Felling good and getting hungry!
Jacklynrae replied to Kim2BSlim's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I am feeling a lot less swollen too. But of course some yogurt fixes it. Your progress can be your motivation you are well on your way to be a skinny lady!! I bet it is a lot of trying to teach us food is not life, that is how I am looking at it. I took food for granted and ate way too much way too often. You can do it, just imagine how strong you will feel to accomplish such a great goal! good luck and stay positive. God bless Jacklyn -
It is a couple of posts above right above, I put Creamy Potato Soup as the title but its the same thing! Thanks everybody for your interest let me know if there is any other recipe that ya'll need! God Bless Jacklyn

It does take courage to post such pictures, but you have made the best choice to make that change. Be proud of yourself and soon you will want to post your pictures everywhere!! Good luck Paula Bee!! Oh and MammaMichelle, I totally agree with you when I am skinny I want to get a renewal of vows too. But the entire works, dress and all haha!! Great minds think alike. God Bless Jacklyn

Hey all I am getting ever closer to my creamy soups and just wanted to ask a quick question for those that know or maybe have tried it. I have an awesome food processor and would really like to puree some meat into the soups and I was wondering A. If this was tasty B. If this would be allowed, I would def make sure it was capable of fitting through a straw per Dr. Miranda's guidelines C. If this would allow for a good protein substitute as the shakes make me want to gag Thank you for all of your answers!! God Bless and happy losing Jacklyn

Couled this be food detox?
Jacklynrae replied to Jacklynrae's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Yes Paula Bee that is one thing that is going to keep me strong is wanting that confidant strong feeling of accomplishing something. I mean how many times have we said I am going to start this diet, I am going to exercise everyday and after a couple of weeks fall back into our old habits? As silly as it may sound knowing in the back of the mind that "cheating" could very well jeopardize my health and my band may just be the kick in the rear I need to be faithful! Thank all of you for your positive words and wish me luck in my trip through "Bandster Hell"! Jacklyn
