  1. No you have to have clear liquids for so many days. Please take a look at the post-op diet posted on this forum. So let's just say for about the first five days, you will have chicken broth, apple juice, jello, etc. Then you will progress to shakes and then to creamy soups . . . at this point is when you're bound to become a member of the Chip Licker Society
  2. My husband paid for my surgery but wanted me to sign an agreement that I wouldn't divorce him afterwards. Not a chance
  3. Lucerna - be there!!!!

  4. Yes we are all staying at the Lucerna. When I called to get my room reserved, I was told about the new hotel. But the rest of my party had already booked for Lucerna so I did too. I WILL see you at the Lucerna but trust me, I won't be sunbathing I have a Looooooooooong way to go before I would do that to anyone
  5. Ok, just received confirmation of my upcoming fill which reads: "A 2 hour fast in necessary prior your fill." I'm assuming this information is accurate coming from the clinic.
  6. There were weird noises coming from my stomach. I think it sounded like a version of the Land of the Lost!!!! Remember that Saturday morning show? Anyway ... I thought because I was growling, better yet ROARING, I was hungry. I wasn't. Be strong Follow your pre-op diet and don't cheat too much
  7. I felt the same way you did but downplayed it. I pretended as if nothing new or different was about to happen. It seemed to make the time go by faster. I also decided I need to clean my house So I did closets and floors and everything else! It definitely kept me busy
  8. Doesn't ice cream liqudify when it melts GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Fortunately I had no gas pains but once in a while I had gas (toot toot). Luckily no one was around. I did have some pain when I would breathe in deep. It felt like I had bronchitis or something but nothing that was unbearable. I had pain from my incisions and it hurt usually when I would get up out of bed or turn over. I had this type of pain for about two weeks. It was three weeks before I could go over a speed bump without causing myself pain. My port site is still tender and swollen. It's also hard and is sticking out. I'm sure if I bumped into something on accident, I'd scream out with pain!
  10. Look at BeBe's signature line - she has a picture of someone shooting their scale. Can ya relate
  11. Good Luck BeBe Dear . we're watching you so be accountable
  12. I have not had feelings of depression but have had feelings of worry - what if I am not successful? Also have had feelings of being uncomfortable about going out to lunch with friends or deciding to stay in and making excuses as to why I don't want to go (even though they know I was banded). I have had feelings of anxiousness. Can't wait to get my first darned fill. I have had feelings of romance. The docs are handsome .... hahaha just kidding. WAIT they are handsome!
  13. I had preop day before surgery. I had surgery next day around 4 pm and only stayed one night at clinic. I stayed at the hotel night before surgery, and two nights after surgery. we paid for an extra night. I returned to work the next morning after I got home. Surgery 4/4 - back to work 4/8. I had a hematoma so my stomach was bruised badly but otherwise, I was fine. I was not hungry at all after surgery for the first week. Then the second week I missed chewing. By the third week I was feeling hungry.
  14. Good Luck .. and call me when you get to bandland :)
  15. Bandgroupie's exercise: Off to a slow start, obviously. May 6 - 30 minutes on stair stepper and arm exercises
  16. I wish I couldn't feel my port or see my port. I wish my port didn't look like an alien baby about to be birthed! My port pops out and moves around and is hard to touch. I hope I don't have a problem getting my first fill but I definitely need the doctors to reassure me that the port is just fine. And TRUST ME, I'm not feeling it because I have LESS BELLY FAT ROFL
  17. I haven't been there but we're going Friday afternoon when we get in!!!!!! See ya on the beach (with the donkeys!)
  18. Definitely Good Job. I can't wait until I go to bed and wake up 30 lbs. lighter!! MAKE IT HAPPEN
  19. Having been banded by Drs. Ortiz and Martinez and/or being a member of this forum and having had the opportunity to meet other bandsters, do you feel as if you are a member of an elite group?? I DO!!!!!
  20. What BeBe said - direct your anger at the food..... Dr. O told me 'chocolate is your enemy." He was right. I loved chocolate almost as much as I loved my children .... and I haven't had any in a very, very long time. YOU CAN DO IT - Don't get discouraged - keep up the good work... You're doing GREAT
