  2. celery rhubarb soft breads tortilla pasta sticky rice
  3. I took Campbells Soup at Hand (Creamy Tomato - my favorite) to work with me for lunch. I also took sugar free pudding, popsicles, and drinkable yogurts. Drank Special K Protien Water Pink Lemonaide all day long. Chic Fil A has a great Diet Lemonaide <- I live to have one! Kept me satisfied. Now with my being back on solids, I can eat just about anything but am eating Lean Cuisine when I do not go out for lunch.
  4. Drugs are so bad her in the United States, that addicts are breaking into homes of the elderly and beating and killing them..... Just as others have said, crime is everywhere.
  5. GOOD LUCK MAY 1st BANDSTERS!!!!!! Be be sure to keep us posted!
  6. Did someone say "Highlights" yes it was you Hanna!!! I think I'm going for the highlights next! I better save a lot on my food bill to pay for all this hair stuff (right MamaMichelle?). Ok, so how much did the celebrity salon charge for the cut and color - inquiring minds want to know. I imagine my $40 cut is nothing compared to what you probably paid. I decided after going to bed with a new cut and style and waking up to the style being flattened, I need to bring my hairdresser home with me. Does this mean I have to invest in some hairspray and maybe even use a curling iron!?!?!?!!!? OHMIGOODNESS.
  7. Today is the big day Shannon!! Happy Bandiversary!!!!!!
  8. I would have never thought to use Sea Breeze or baking soda .. thanks for the tips!!!!!!! Are you a hairdresser??
  9. Hi Mom!!!! IMO, the powder Special K Protien Water is much better than the liquid (already mixed) and my favorite is pink lemonaide. I drank it pre op and continue to drink it post op. Definitely replaced my bottle of Diet Coke. My grocery store carries the Special K Protien Water in the same section where you will find the protien shakes. Happy Hunting!! Cheers
  10. As many of you know, I was banded on 4/4/08, which means I am stuck in Bandster hell. Very little weight loss since surgery and I am hungry all the time and have no restriction. So I needed some inspiration and decided to get a new hairstyle today. I decided to try out a new place - Talk of the Town. It's a small shop (hip mother and daughter) full salon, facials, tanning, massages, haircuts and colors. Reminded me at first of the beauty shop that was on Steel Magnolias (you know the one Dolly owned!)..... so I confessed to a complete stranger that I recently had lapband surgery and wanted something new. I let her choose for me. She picked a cute style that I would have picked myself and at the same time she showed me the sytle she chose for me when I lose my extra weight (I liked it! - sorta wicked . hahahah)..... so I have a new hair cut, shorter and whispier but nothing too drastic. I like it. I needed it and it sparked something in me. Sooo.... for you new bandsters on the road to their new journey, if you haven't already, get a new hair style, it's just what the doctor ordered. I also wanted to let you know what the stylist used when washing my hair. I thought it was interesting and weird at first. I suppose it make sense ..... First shampooed and then she used regular vinegar. It was COLD and I could smell it. I smelled like an easter egg. She said it made hair shine. Ok. Then she shampooed one more time. Then she said next, we're going to use Sea Breeze which is good for your scalp and rids your hair of products..... I asked her what was sea breeze (I imagined it as being an expensive hair product that only a hairdresser could purchase). Ummm nope.... the stuff you put on your face? Remember Sea Breeze???!?!? Ok, so now I smelled like an easter egg fighting acne .... Was the best $40.00 I've spent in a long time! I left there with a wonderful cut and my hair shined like never before. I'm moving my vinegar from the kitchen cabinet to my shower. I'm going to Wal-mart to buy some Sea Breeze.
  11. Hey there .. I thought I responded to your question last night but apparently my response didn't show up. When I called to schedule my surgery I was anxious to have it done as early as possible. On the days I asked for, they had a semi private room available and was offered it at that savings. I jumped on it. I confirmed first that the other person who had the only other semi private room was a female. Now I know that wouldn't have really mattered. If you have any questions, message me.
  12. Anita, well look for our "LOUD" group...... there will be 4 bandsters (3 gals; 1 guy; and 1 husband (mine!))...... we'll look for you!!!
  13. As we know, many insurance companies will not cover weight loss surgery, but I have found that those that do cover WLS, cover procedures other than the lapband. I was told because it still is new (yeah right!).
  14. MM, Thanks for the good info and the pep talk.... I definitely needed it!!!!!! I have already decided to start back on Lean Cuisines but I am so HUNGRY Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your experiences with all of us!
  15. I am not a "phan" of phentermine... there are risks involved with taking the drug more for than a month or two. None of my doctors will even prescribe it. Good luck!!!!
  16. Shannon, you are the bomb!!! WTG!!!!!! You truly are an inspiration to all of us!
  17. I'm three weeks postop and started eating solid foods again. I have absolutely no restriction on what I eat or how much I eat. I feel nothing different. I also never had any troubles on the post op diet. Everything went down fine. No chest pains and no shoulder pain. I'm concerned because even though the band isn't filled, I assumed I would have "some" restriction just from the band being placed. So, am I really banded?????? or just one kidney short (you know who you are!) Anyone else experience a total lack of restriction prior to first fill? Thanks!
  18. Glad everything went well and welcome to bandland!!!!!!
