  3. Hi Ladies!! Thanks for the notes..you guys are the best!! We went shopping today, bought a few things that are too small..of course on purpose....my goal clothes! LOL!! Did a little gambling this afternoon, but no luck! Looking forward to our spagetti and meatball dinner w/caesar salad and garlic bread...I won't be having the bread...since my fill on Wednesday, I am finding bread is not my friend anymore...which I guess is for the best. Take care and I will catch up with you again soon!
  4. Great post Dana, thanks for bringing this to our attention..I even felt compelled to make a comment.
  5. Hi all! My Mom is coming for a visit for a week, and we are going to be spending some quality time relaxing, talking, shopping and maybe even hit the local casino. You probably won't see me on the forum much, but I will check in during the evening to say hi and check thing out!! Have a great week everyone and good luck to those who are have surgery in the next week!!!
  6. Hi Jo, wow 2 weeks to go...how exciting!! Yeh..Optifast shakes suck!! I had difficulty with them too..I added 2 TSBP of unsweetened cocoa and put it in the freezer for 15 minutes to thicken it up and I was able to get it down. Good luck baby!!!
  7. Your description of finally enjoying your cup of soup is almost orgasmic!! LOL!! I am so happy you made to creamy soups and are enjoy them immensely....I had my Cheddar/Potato soup for dinner after my third fill...oh and it was so yummy. I would have it more often but it doesn't keep me full anymore. Enjoy Jazzy!!!!
  8. Skim milk has lots of protein and less fat...creamy soups have alot of fat already...enjoy!!!
  9. I drink up until I eat and wait 1 hour afterwards...if you drink during your meal, it will wash right through and defeat the purpose. Try really hard not to....suck on ice cubes or a mint if you have dry mouth. Good Luck!
  10. Congrats to you hubby, so happy to hear he's doing so well!!!
  11. That's good news Jessica...my surgeon also recommends soft foods for two days...not necessary liquids, but easy foods, like mashed potatoes and pasta. I had my third fill yesterday..total of 5.5 cc in my 9cc band...I hope it tightens things up for me. You are doing great, keep it up girl!!!!
  12. Congrats Crimson!! Welcome to bandland!! You are doing great so far...it's only the beginning of your healthier life!!
  13. I third that motion...slimey is not my thing...the only seafood I like is fish and breaded shrimp.
  14. Welcome Lety and congrats on your upcoming surgery!! Best of Luck and be sure to let us know how it goes! Take care.
  15. Martha, good luck at the doctors, I hope everything works out for you! I thought that when you reached your goal, you get a little unfill, so that you don't lose anymore weight and just maintain? Would this not take the feeling of restriction away?
  16. Hi Jann, I am sorry you were sick on the pancakes. I avoid them like the plague, too doughy...I can feel it getting stuck just thinking about it. I hope you feel better!!
  17. Hi Ladies! Well I got my fill...it took 3 pokes and two doctors to get .5 cc in...ouch!! Just kidding it hurt a little at the time, but I am fine now...I had my famous Cream of Cheddar/Potato soup for dinner and it went down...and so far so good. I hope it was just enough to tighen things up a bit to get back to losing those pounds!!
  18. Thanks Jazzy, you are doing fantastic!! You go girl!!
  19. Thanks Denise, so nice to hear from you!!! I hope you hit your sweetspot too!!!
  20. Hi there, restaurants do have healthy choices, chicken, steak, salads...you will do just fine...eat easy foods if you are nervous...like mashed potatoes, soups and pasta.
  21. Well Teyann, that's definitely a loaded question...we have all dealt with weight issues. I am making a big assumption here, but I think most of us including myself have tried everything else. Weight Loss Clinic in my 20's, Weight Watchers in my 30's and 40's. I lost weight, sure....did very well, but it didn't stay off. Maybe I wasn't ready for a lifestyle change, maybe I needed something else. What I can tell you, is that there is no way in hell I would have lost 53 lbs in 4 months on any other diet plan. I have said the same thing you have " I can do this on my own" over and over again...and yet I still weighed 285 lbs...drop 20, gain 30...you lose the drive and fall back into the old ways. My suggestion would be to try your way, on your own, for 6 months and see how you do...if you are successful...great!! If you are not, consider the band again. My old regret is not doing it sooner!! Good Luck!!!
  22. Good Luck Trudy, my fingers are crossed for you...my second fill was great for awhile, I am off to get a third fill tommorrow to tighten it up a bit.
  23. Well I am off to the clinic tommorrow afternoon for my third fill...just a tiny one to tighten things up a bit. My weight loss has stalled over the last two weeks and I am gradually feeling hungrier inbetween meals, so it's time! I hope I hit my sweetspot..again!!
  24. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY AND THE COUNTDOWN IS ON BABY FOR YOUR BAND!!! ALL THE BEST!!!
