  1. Today is voting day for Prime Minister of Canada....be sure to let your voice be heard!!!
  2. Me either, not sure how that works...when I send a message it's just gone, no record of it...maybe admin can help.
  3. Great post Jann...we all need to look at the NSV and other numbers, other than the ones on the scale. The scale has moved for me in almost 2 weeks...but I feel great and figure it took 8 years to get here, it's going to take time to get back!! Love your new profile pic...you need to show your pretty smile!

Hey...there's something missing???? It's your butt!! Way to go Blazn!!
  5. What an amazing accomplishment, good for you!!! Congratulations...pics please!!! I look forward to joining you in the 100 club very soon!!
  6. Now that's a true testimonial that the band does work, if you work with the band!! Lisa you are a true inspiration and THE goal to strive for!! By this time next year, I will be your twin girl!!! Luv ya babe!
  7. Hi Jazzy, call the OCC for your fill appointment and they will ask you when your surgery date was and book at about 6 weeks.
  8. Oh Amy, all I can say is WOW!!! You've got a keeper there!!! Congrats!!
  9. Hi Stormy, get a baby plate and baby spoon. Cut your food into really small bites and eat one at a time, chew, swallow and then take the next one...it's retraining your brain. Take it slow and you'll be fine.
  10. You hit the nail right on the head Julie...I sit on the computer for hours after dinner when I should be exercising on my WiiFit or taking a walk. I made a promise to LisaL yesterday that starting today I would exercise for 30 minutes per day, so my goal is 7 p.m. every evening to get off the computer and let the kids have it and go downstairs to my little home gym and work out. So if you see me posting anytime after 7 pm...which shows at about 7:45 to 8 p.m. on this forum (due to time change)...kick my butt off and tell me to get downstairs!!! Deal??!!!
  11. Oh Julie, that must have just frustrated you! After the agony you went through and no reply, to get a half-assed one after two weeks. You are so right...aftercare is key. Although you may have the best surgeon in the business, that's only step one in the process. I could not be happier with my clinic...they have provided me with amazing aftercare....anytime I have sent them an e-mail or called them with questions or concerns, within minutes they have replied. If I need a fill, I call and I'm in. They do fills on Wednesdays and if I were to call that morning, I could get a fill in the afternoon. I am so happy you were able to find the care you needed close to home! Have a great day!
  12. I stopped my Diet Coke addiction on May 27th, the day I started my pre-op and I am very surprised how easy it was and I don't even crave it anymore. Carbonation including pop, beer, champagne are not band friendly, they cause gas which will stretch your pouch and interfere with the maximum effectiveness of the band. Diet pop also cancels out any water you drink and slows weight loss...I think part of the reason I lost weight so quickly, was due to no more diet coke. Wean yourself now and you'll do just fine!!! We've all done it and you can too!
  13. Believe me, restriction comes and goes...last week I felt like I had none and booked a fill for this Wednesday..now it's back! It can depend on what you eat, I realized that eating slippery foods doesn't work for me...I feel hungry right afterwards...solids only from now on. I am able to eat bread from time to time...some days no, some days yes...again because restriction gets lose and then tightens. Make a diary of your daily intake and maybe that will give you clues as to what works best. Don't worry, your body is changing and new quirks will crop up! You are doing great!
  14. CottonwoodAZ has a point, but if you were having a gallbladder attack, you would be doubled over in EXTREME pain and barely able to breathe...gallbladder attacks are worst than labour!! The pain is most in your chest and under your diaphram...wicked pain!! Keep an eye on it...and if gets worse talk to your doctor.
  15. Wow Kim, Lance looks amazing!!! Total transformation and confidence booster for sure!! Please let him know...we are so proud of him!
  16. It's gas m'dear..trapped under your ribs.....I get it all the time including wicked middle back pain after eating. Mine goes away after 15-20 minutes or so. Walking should help move it out....feel better!
  17. You are too cute Jazzy...the side picture is current...I took it about 2 weeks ago! Side facial shots make me look thinner, it's the front shots that show the darn chin, tummy, legs etc. LOL!! Thanks so much for your kind words too..you are a sweetie!
  18. Wii Fit is great! I just love it...I am 41 on my Wii...almost 46 in reality...I can live with that for now! 29 here I come!!
  19. Big Hugs!! I am sorry it's been so difficult for you...and we know that you are doing the best you can. Any moment you can grab for yourself is precious and if you can catch a swim. No need to confess, we all have busy lives and sometimes they go upside down...I hope things get better for you!! Take care sweetie!
  20. Hi Stormy, if you are feel tightness in your chest...chew your food better. I feel tightness with rice and potatoes...stop eating and let it go down...then continue..when you feel full stop! Try not to eat the skin of anything...especially chicken or turkey..too fatty and really hard to chew into tiny bits. I don't eat chicken wings for this reason, too much work. Be really careful that you are making healthy and band friendly choices...PBing is no fun! Good Luck!
  21. Thanks Jazzy...you are so right, whether it's Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner...it's all in moderation...even dessert...enjoy life, it only rolls around once!!
  22. Ain't that the truth Kim!!! A little bit of this and a little bit of that is how it should be anyway!!!
  23. Heidi's right, no hanging from chandeliers....do what you are comfortable with. Have fun!
  24. Thanks Lisa, you are so wise!! You are absolutely right, I spend way too much time here chatting it up and should be downstairs on my WiiFit and other exercise equipment. I give you my word, starting tommorrow, I will exercise for at least 30 minutes per day..and on Nov 10th, we'll see what difference it makes! Take care babe!
