  1. Thanks Trina, you are such a sweetheart! Has hubby come home yet?
  2. For those who've been sick with a cold while banded, did you have tighter restriction? I have had a lump in my throat all day. I can't taste a thing. I had a shake for breakfast and had a lump in my throat from 8:30 until 1 pm...had a little lunch, some roast beef and scallop potatoes and the lump got worse and I still have it and it's almost 6 p.m. I just tried to eat some dinner, turkey and rice and could barely get the turkey in before my chest started tightening. Believe me, I am only eating because I should, not because I want to. So far it hasn't caused me to PB or not be able to drink water...so it's not that bad yet, but I was wondering if this is common? Thanks!!!!
  3. Contact the surgeon anyway, just for a consult...I am...LisaL had her surgery perform at 200 lbs....I am hoping my surgeon will agree.
  4. How do you use it...do you hold onto it and do a push up? If so, I agree with momonamission...I would slam my face into the wheel or pull my arms out the socket trying to control it. Please say it's easier than it looks!!
  5. Hi Cara, go with Potato Cheddar, it's my favourite and eat around the chunks...enjoy your lunch!!! It was great talking to you yesterday!!!
  6. Mine is about 1/2 inch below my largest incision.
  7. Oh I hope you feel better soon, that's not fun at all!! When you have your next fill, if they do fluoro, they can check your band. I am sure it's fine. Take care.
  8. Thanks totally amazing, you have done so awesome!!! A true testiment that the band really works if you work with the band...way to go Michelle!!! I am hoping you hear the pitter patter of my footsteps behind you very shortly!!!
  9. I was swollen for over a month and even a week or so ago felt a lump too..but it was no wear near my port area...could be scar tissue or lumps of fat moving around??? If it concerns you, once the swelling is gone...see your doctor.
  10. Hi Stormy, so happy you and your hubby had a wonderful trip and are home safe..I bet you son missed you guys!! Drinks lots, rest lots and before you know it, good things will happen!!! Take care!
  11. I thought the same thing, but others can see the difference before you can. I can't wait to see them!!
  12. Hi Jessica, I could be your port, the internal swelling might be bringing it more to the surface...once all the swelling settles you shouldn't be able to see it..but you may e able to feel it. I can't believe it's been 3 weeks already, wow does time fly! You are doing so amazing..I am so proud of you!!! I can't wait to see some before, during and after pics!!
  13. Does anyone get the hiccups after eating? I get mid-back pain after eating too? I know when I'm full, the hiccups start, funny eh!? Does anyone else have any weird things going on?
  14. I also ordered a DVD called Core Dancing..it's cubian style dancing, fast moving and great cardio...I can't wait until it comes in...dancing is such good exercise and girl nite comes so few and far between these days!!
  15. That's wicked Denise...someone really didn't recognize you? That's awesome!!
  16. That's so great Stormy, see all that worry for nothing! I am so happy you had a positive experience..now the hard part begins, but you and hubby can support each other and you'll do great!!! Take care and get some rest!
  17. That's fabulous Cara!!! Way to go...and it's only the beginning!!! Keep up the great work, it so worth it!! (((Big Hug))))
  18. Hi Teyann, Ninendo Wii is a game system (eg. PS2, Xbox) and Wii Fit is a game that you buy for it. It has a pad you stand on and you do exercises as instructed by the Wii instructor...it's really cool, more fun that just exercises on your own. Alot of us on the forum have it and really enjoy it, you should try it.
  19. You are so right Kim, I did 146 in 1 minute to start today...whoa!! I love my Wii fit, it's cool!!
  20. I just love NSV...they are always worth mentioning again and again. I put on my favourite PJs on Sunday night after my long warm shower and I pulled up the pants and back down to the floor they went!! They literally fell right off...they are elastic waist...so they are going into the garbage now! Remember awhile ago I posted about my new jeans, with zipper and button and how great they fit, finally no more jeans with elastic waist...well, they are too big now...oh well I guess I better get a new pair. I just love cleaning out my closet of fat clothes. I have a friend a work who is dieting and is alot heavier than I am right now, so she's getting a whole new wardrobe...it feels so good!! Even shoes fit better and some of the fashionable shoes I couldn't wear because of was too heavy and they were uncomfortable..now feel great!! My only concern is having clothes for my trip to the Bahamas in March, by then all of my summer clothes will be way too big and I will have nothing to bring and shopping for summer clothes in March, in Canada is not an easy task. I guess I will have to borrow some things from my skinnier friends! LOL!! Thanks for sharing!!
  21. Hi Andrew, no I didn't experience anything like that...but there is always numbness around incisions after surgery. You may want to keep an eye on it and talk to your surgeon.
  22. Welcome and congrats on your decision! You will do great...having surgery close to home is a bonus...I had mine done about hour from home here in Ontario, Canada. Best of Luck and be sure to let us know how you are doing!
  23. My port scar is left of center about 6 inches below my left boob. Over the stomach organ.
  24. That's amazing Jessica...35 lbs is nothing to sneeze at at all!!! Imagine before your had surgery how difficult it would have been to get down 35 lbs and the best part....it's gone for good!!! I lost 32 lbs total from pre-op to post op diet...and 16 lbs since then. Keep up the great work and make sure you get a fill when you need one!
