  1. Yes, I have B12 desolvable strips I take daily and actually have a prescription for monthly shots, which I am chicken to get right now. LOL!!! B12 helps your immune system and helps prevent illness (colds and flu). I found without it, I feel lightheaded and dizzy.
  2. Make sure you take your vitamins and add some B12 too. I was low on B12 and was dizzy after every meal.
  3. I agree with momonamission...we all have a number goal in mind, mine is 140, my surgeon's is 150...when I get there I will know what's right for me.
  4. Hi DanaBall, I have a friend who had RNY surgery at the end of May and is still in hospital with complications and also had 3-4 additional surgeries, give me the band anyday!! I have a wonderful plastic surgeon right here in the city, he did my breast reduction and I will be calling him in the new year for my tummy tuck and possible butt lift. I want to lose 100 lbs first.
  5. I totally agree with everyone, it's hard work, but worth it...there is no way I could have lost 48 lbs ever, let alone in 3 months and keep it off. Having a fabulous fill has made the world of difference, head hunger or not, if I still have a lump in my throat I know I can't eat. So it's working for me! I LOVE MY BAND!!!!
  6. Safe trip home Cara!! Talk to you soon! Kat
  7. Thanks everyone! My hubby doesn't want to go to Mexico now, how about Cuba. Has anyone been to Cuba who can recommend a family friendly all inclusive resort? thanks!
  8. Hi Janet, I have, I have ordered tops from Maximum Woman and Old Navy on-line. I have also used Always For Me for bathing suits/cover up. Search plus size clothing on-line and some stores should come up, some deliver to Canada, some don't. Good Luck and happy shopping. PS Are there any thrift stores ie: Value Village in your area? I would check that out first, you don't want to waste your money on clothes for now, when in a few months they'll be falling off your skinny butt! LOL!!
  9. Hi there, it's recommended that you should be able to get it through a straw, OCC rules. I eat creamy of potato soup for a good two weeks and chewed the chunks to mush, I was fine. I needed to chew something, my teeth were sore! LOL!! You can put anything in your soup to make it taste better, you are not counting calories or portions during the healing process. Fudgecicles and unsweetened puddings (add some skim milk to water things down a bit) are great too!!!
  10. My hubby, the boys and I go on a tropical holiday each year in Jan/Feb. We are looking now at Cuba and I was wondering if anyone can recommend any all inclusive resorts down there, 4+ start preferred and kid friendly. Thanks!
  11. Congrats to you hubby, that's wonderful!!!
  12. That's fantastic!! You are doing great...it's a lifestyle change not a diet, so having foods you love in moderation is okay. I had a sliver of my son's birthday cake last week and no harm done. You gotta live life!! Congrats on your NSV!!
  13. Oh my goodness, that sounds horrible...glad it's over for you....eat soft foods for as long as you need to, to feel better. I PBed at lunch time, ate soup for dinner and by the next day I was fine. Take care and feel better!
  14. That's good news....sometimes it's the scale that brings us down, try not to dwell on the numbers...it's how you feel and your clothes fit that counts!! Drink up that water and start dancing!!!! =D>
  15. Hi Stormy, when you do and your hubby fly out?
  16. Thanks!!! I just eat lots of protein, only drink water, have a treat once in awhile and to be honest haven't really exercised yet. I am bad for that, but did buy some new CDs called Core Dancing so that I can dance the rest of the pounds off! You are doing great too, keep it up and before you know it we'll be comparing shopping stories!! Have a great day!
  17. Take a deep breath, okay...weight will go up and down...that normal, your body needs time to settle into your new lifestyle change, I teeter between 1 and 1 1/2 lbs every other day. Down one day, up the next. It's normal. Add more water, exercise and less salt. Change it up every once in awhile and your body will let the lbs go! Good Luck and have a great day! >
  18. I make regular meals like always, I just add more veggies and salads, less potatoes and more whole grain rice. I feed my hubby and two sons and if they are having a burger or sausages, I will have sliced chicken or turkey, less calories. You learn to adapt. Good Luck!
  19. It doesn't happen to all of us, and it's takes time to view food differently, but if you set your mind to it, you will do great!
  20. I posted a similar problem this weekend, I am going to try a natural laxative call Senekot, I hope it works! I will let you know.
  21. Hi Cara, Glad to hear that all went well and now you are an official bandster! I can't wait to hear all about your trip and see your transformation. Take care sweetie!! Talk to you soon on FB! Safe trip home! (((Hugs)))) Kat
  22. Have a great vacation and with all of that exercise you will do just fine. Making healthy choices when you can and enjoy a treat too!!
  23. Hi Taz, I think part of it is the chewing, it's tiring. Eating cold food turns me off. Food getting stuck is a concern and happens. It actually happened to be a dinner, left over turkey (which I absolutely love) and some green beans, I had to get up and walk around, finally it went down. But after that I couldn't finish dinner, had a unsweetened pudding instead. I socialize at least once a week for lunch or dinner and make healthy choices, eat slow and so far it's been just fine. I try to make tasty foods, adding spices etc, so that the little bit I can have, tastes good. Good Luck with your surgery.
  24. It's going to be fine, dig out those fudgecicles and popcicles and have as many as you want while others get fat!! Good Luck and you can do this!! Remember, even if you could eat solid food, that snackie stuff is not good for you anyway!
