  1. Wow, that's quite a story, not sure what's going on there?? Port study is probably a good idea...let us know the results! Good Luck!
  2. Hi Jessica, I gained 7 lbs after surgery and eventually it drops off, it's bloating and water retention from surgery. Follow the post op diet and before you know it, you're scale will give a big surprise!! Get well soon!!
  3. My downfall is chips, Pringles Light, 17 chips 120 calories for a snack. But they do fill me up.
  4. I am so glad you are okay...thanks for letting us know!
  5. Yes yes yes...I couldn't feel it before, but certainly can now...if you can too...it's a good thing!!! Whoohoo!!!
  6. I AM LOSING WEIGHT ON MY TUMMY!!!!! WHOOT HOO!!! I bent over my desk this morning and ouch! (still tender from last fill) and touched my tummy through my top and felt it!! Thanks for letting me share! Have a great day!
  7. That's sounds cool...any idea where to get one?
  8. Hi there, wow you are not doing well! Do you the fill is too tight? You have to be able to eat something. I would call your doctor and run it by him/her. You don't want to end up getting sick. Take care and feel better!
  9. That's fabulous Dawn!! I try not to dwell too much on the scale and try on clothing in my closet every other week just to see if some of the clothes that were too small, fit. So far I have been doing well. I literally shop in my own closet. I have already donated 4 bags to charity. I have some great clothes and peices I just love too, but soon they will be way too big and I will have to give them away...but the good news is...I get to buy more!! Whoothoo! For you!!!
  10. I have been watching the news and the storm has hit, power outages etc. Let us know you are okay when you can! Take care and we are praying for your safety.
  11. Welcome Tara!! Congrats on your decision and best of luck with your surgery and of course your friend Tara's as well. My youngest son's birthday is Sept 11th too! You could not have picked a better time to do this...and we are all here to support you! All the best!
  12. Organized exercise is not my strong suit, but here are ways to burn calories without getting on the exercise bike! Vacuuming – 75 – 125 calories. Give yourself a real workout. Tackle all those corners and specs of dirt. Cooking - 40 – 50 calories Cleaning gutters – 340 calories Mopping floors - 112 calories. Besides burning calories, you can tone your shoulders and biceps. Yard Work Walk outside and you can burn even more calories. An hour of gardening burns about 256 calories. You’ll also be working on your arms, back and legs. Raking leaves – 110 calories per hour Lawn mowing – 150-225 calories per hour. (Nope, this doesn’t include a riding mower.) The more you push, the more calories burned. Cleaning gutters – 340 calories per hour, firming your back arms and shoulders Painting - 288 calories for an hour of painting, working your arms and knees. Gutter cleaning – 320 calories per hour, working on your shoulders, upper back, arms and legs. Shopping Leave your pocketbook at home and go to the mall. Walk around the mall for least 30 minutes, not stopping to look into the windows. Added Activities Although housework and yard work do burn calories, if you want to be lose a lot of weight you need to add some form of physical activity that you do on a regular basis. Even if it’s just walking in or around your house, it’s just as good as if you were on a pricey treadmill or working out at a fitness center. Also, keep in mind that these calories noted are based on the weight of an average-sized person. The more you weigh the more calories you’ll burn. Use an online calorie counter to determine just how many calories you can burn for your particular size. When you burn calories caring for your house and yard you get a double bonus. Not only do you work off pounds but you can also feel good about making your home clean and organized.
  13. I have even found since my second fill that I slime after drinking my water. I eat, wait an hour, start drinking water and slime a little. I guess my pouch is still full.
  14. I am in the middle of a plateau now, been the same for almost two weeks, I am hoping this second fill, which is pretty tight right now and an increase in my exercise will get me over the next hump. From what I have read and experienced, if you change things up a little, it shocks the body to give it up again. Good Luck!
  15. I found the same thing, on those weeks where I tend to eat say chinese food or a burger (not alot), I drop lbs. Sometimes I think that when I am too good and my calories remain low, my body holds on to it...and when I shake it up with a little fat and starch, it lets go! Weird eh!
  16. Hi there! I know exactly what you mean. I had my second fill on Wednesday last week and could barely get anything in. I almost fainted on Thursday morning because I needed something, sugar, vitamins?? It's a bit better now, but I eat lots of protein and veggies..not much else. It was suggested to me to drink Gatorade or a Powerade drink to help get some calories and electrolytes in. Do your best!!
  17. Congratulations on making this decision and getting your surgery date!!! Good luck on your pre-op diet, it's challenging but you can do it!!!
  18. Good Luck Trudy, I hope it will help kick start your weight loss again. Mine came and went, which is to be expected. My second fill though, amazing, working like a charm!! Are you going to OCC for it, or local?
  19. Good Luck Christina, safe trip and all the best for a successful surgery. Be sure to let us know how you are doing okay?!! Take care!
  20. Eat your protein first, 3-4 oz peice of meat or fish and then eat a small portion of green salad or veggies. If you are still hungry have a little rice o potato. I use a baby plate to portion control. You may want to get one! Good Luck!
  21. This program really hit home how easily it is to keep gaining weight until it's completely disabiling. A man who weighed 1200 lbs and could not get out of bed. He had someone wash and powder him daily to avoid fusing to the bed. He had leg ulcers and you could barely tell where one body part ended and the other began. A woman who was bedridden and could not stand for more than 1 minute at a time, struggling to care for her young daughter. She could not do any household chores at all and helped her daughter get ready for school from her bed. Some may wonder, how did they get so heavy, could they not stop before it got that bad? Maybe, maybe not? I doubled my body weight in 10 years. I was 140 after I had my second son was born, and 10 years later I was 285. And if I hadn't made this life changing decision, 10 years from now I could have been 425 lbs, etc. This program was a huge wake-up call on how lucky we really are to have the opportunity and the means to be able to get the weight off and be healthy again!!
  22. Great posting once again MamaMichelle!! I am a semi-scale addict. I weight myself every morning however I do not have anxiety when stepping on it. If I am down, that's great, if not, I need to work harder to get there. Although I did start off measuring too, I haven't for awhile, I let my clothes dictate right now...and I have sent 4 bags of clothes to charity so far!!! Have a great day!
  23. I am sorry you are suffering...I did too. I had major gas pains for about 4 days, I took Ovol which helped. I also had major canker sores too...gargle with anti-bacterial wash, they disappeared in less than a day. Feel better soon!
  24. Hi Vix, I am so happy you are home safely and all went well, you are officially a "bandster"!!! Who would have thought, after all of your heartache to get this done, how wonderfully it's turned out. Cheers to a healthier, happier life!!!
