  1. You need more variety...I rarely eat processed meals. I buy filet minon, filet of sole, pork chops, chicken breasts. I heat up Uncle Ben's Rice (instant/pre-made microwave stuff), mashed potatoes, caesar salad mix (greens and fixings), hash browns, baked potatoes from M & Ms (or other meat market/food market). I realize you are probably cooking just for yourself or your hubby right now, but I find pre-made meals have alot of salt which retains water and I am prone to water retention. Try making a meal from scratch, it tastes better and you will help you with the lifestyle change. You can't eat lean pockets forever sweetie!!!
  2. Hi Amber, just wondering, if you second fill doctor, removed the existing fluid in the band before injecting more? My surgeon does this to check to ensure that what he put in last time is still there, it's a double check on leaks. I have my second fill on Wednesday and my first one comes and goes. It takes time to either kick in or kick out! I can see how frustrating it can be, now!!! Take care.
  3. That's scarey, I hope you feel better soon...it's a good thing you are nurse and know these things!!
  4. You are a lucky lady!!! Liquid or chewable vitamins are best. He definitely gets points for trying..those suckers are not easy to crush!!LOL!!
  5. I just spoke with my surgeon's office and they said that Advil/Ibuprofen in small quantities is fine, liquid Advil is better than pill form. Tylenol is a better choice. She said that NSAIDS can erode the band if taken in significant quantities.
  6. I would like to know about Advil too! I get neck pain and headaches and it's THE only thing that works...and I have taken some. Thanks!
  7. I couldn't have written my story better than you did. I was banded June 10th...and go through exactly the same thing. Had a major PBing episode last week at work and was afraid to eat for days, but I am back to it again. I am a chronic snacker especially a night and when I'm home alone, I am trying really hard though. I want this weight loss so bad and I wish my brain would listen to me before I grab a snack!! Good luck, you'll do fine, we're here for support!!
  8. Glad all went well, and hopefully it's just what you need to meet you goal!!
  9. Great post Jena, that is what the band is supposed to do!!
  10. Food is an addiction and it's hard to break bad habits, like Barb I am a sneeker...and have caught myself still doing it. I chose to make a lifestyle change and it will take time to get over some of the humps...but I am doing it for the most part. I treat myself once in awhile, life is a long journey to avoid the things you love. But then I get right back on track. We are not perfect and there will be times when we fail, but the key is to pick yourself back up and get back on track to your goal. Best of Luck!
  11. Thanks Jessica, you are such a sweetie!! You will feel sexy soon too...I am only 2 1/2 months banded. I can't wait to see your transformation too!!!
  12. It is...there is no silly question here. Everyone is open to answer anything you want. Your port site will be tender for awhile, it's feels hard in the that area, but it will soon go away. Once you heal and feel better, you will actually forget about it and learn to live with it like it's always been apart of you. Take care
  13. Great ideas Pheonix!! I like to shop, but I am trying not to, until I reach my goal. Jewellery and shoes for now! LOL!!!
  14. It's normal!! You don't have to be an anxious person to wonder. My concern was the port more than the band itself. What happens to the port, the cord over time? But my surgeon gave me all of his re-assurances and I feel better now!
  15. You are smokin hot too Kimmie..and my inspiration!!!
  16. Thanks Pheonix, appreciation is so important and the more sleep you get the better you look and that's sexy!!!
  17. Rant if you need to, that's why we're here. I do the same thing. When my hubby and boys go away for the day, I plan lunch at McDonald's. I eat a cheeseburger and a few fries, not much and so far it hasn't affected the bottom line, but I feel guilty doing it, like I can't control myself when I'm alone, just like before. But I am getting better, admitting it is the first step and we have both done that. Now we need to focus on the goal at hand and do it!! Having a treat of what you love is not cheating, it's human. As long as it doesn't become a habit and you get back on track. Don't beat yourself up, just back on track!!!
  18. No it's perfectly normal. I thought the same thing, but try not to dwell on it. As long as it doesn't reject, I'm okay with it. They insert foreign objects in bodies all the time, IUDs, Clips for Tubal ligations, heart procedures (stents).
  19. Soon Vix soon!!! It's amazing how this life style change makes you feel...I look forward to seeing your transformation!!!
  20. I am feeling better about myself than I ever have in my life. I feel like I am accomplishing a goal and looking better everyday. I got a new blonder, shorter hairdo yesterday and feel sexy..oh and lost 43 lbs, that too!!LOL!! Tell me what makes you feel sexy and amazing??
  21. Welcome Back!! Glad all went well with the move. Love the new profile pic, you are looking hot girl!!
  22. Hi Vix, Being scared is normal, I was very nervous and even cried in the pre-op waiting room (by myself). I get anxiety about anesthetic and think too much. Try not to think too much, the pain is manageable and I got morphine pills, so if you need them, ask for them!! Take a deep breath and try not get yourself worked up...it will be over in no time...I can't believe it's been 2.5 months since my surgery. The best thing I ever did for myself, I look in the mirror and see a different person transforming, it's an amazing feeling!! We will be thinking about you, keep in touch!!! Safe travels!!
  23. Hi Lisa, I have probably asked you this before, but when did you get the tummy tuck done? How much did you lose first? Was it 100 lbs? Thanks!
