  1. Oh dear, you have been through quite a day. I am so glad Arabella is going to be okay. Our pets are family and are priceless. You did good, you managed self-control at the worst of times, be proud of yourself. Take care and I'll say a prayer for your puppy!
  2. That's amazing Jessica, good for you!!! I found that just giving up the diet coke helped sooo much!! You are on the road to a healthier, thinner life. It's so rewarding isn't it!!! Nothing is more rewarding that to see the numbers fall on the scale or have the waistband in your pants too loose. You go girl, you are doing terrific!!
  3. Hi Jim, I hope you and your family are doing well. Take care.
  4. Oh my bad, I just realized you were still on your post op diet plan. Be very careful, no solids for 21 days, it can cause problems with your band. But, during your 21 day post op plan, you can drink and eat as much creamy soup and yogurt as you want or need. Do not count calories or quantities, you need to concentrate on healing and keeping yourself hydrated. Counting calories comes with solid food.
  5. Welcome back!!! How was Mexico? Hot I bet? Glad you made it home safe and sound and are doing really well with your weight loss. I had my fill last Wednesday, as others have said, the restriction comes and goes...but so far I have been doing well with willpower inbetween. Good to hear from you!
  6. Although the choices you made were not great, you did not overeat by any means. So you do have some willpower. I find when I get off track, I stick to protein only. Chicken, fish, steak and pork. I am a sucker for potatoes and bread, which is my downfall. Get back on track and you'll be fine.
  7. My clinic provides wallet cards that provide the band info, just incase of emergency.
  8. Hi Vix, I am sorry to hear that it didn't go well...but I guess you expected that. Listen to Phoenix and imworthit, they have excellent points. My husband would never have allowed me to go to Mexico for surgery, I knew that, and didn't even mention that option to him. I told him what I wanted to do, he said he loved me the way I was and I didn't have to go so drastic. I said I need this for me, he said he would support me. The cost here in Canada was twice as much as the OCC and we worked it out. Can you check into options in your home state, as suggested? I believe your husband is trying to control you and because you made this decision on your own this time, he is angry. It wouldn't have matter what the decision was about, he wasn't involved. Stand up for yourself and what you want. We spend our lives thinking and doing for others, it's time you think of yourself first. You need this and deserve this!! I hope you can find the strength to go forward with this on your own. We are here for you if you need a shoulder or to talk. Take care and be strong!
  9. Hi Mona-Camille, How often do you see your Mom? Often? For those who see you daily or quite often the change is less drastic than if you only see them every couple of months. I know you love your Mom and you appreciate what she says, but sometimes you have to listen to yourself and to those who are going through the same trials and tribulations as you are. We all definitely see a difference...show your Mom the pictures and I bet she will too. Keep up the great work!
  10. Hello and welcome!! Congrats on your surgery. Once you have healed and have your fill, 1-2 lbs per week is average. Some more, some less depending on what you are eating, exercise and your monthly visitor. It's a slow gradual process that takes time, so that you can change your lifestyle and keep it off. You have done great, keep up the good work!
  11. That's too funny and so true...I have all that kind of stuff too and it tends to sit in the cupboard. I use the plan old Lady Speedstick Deodorant, unscented and spray a little perfume and of course make up my face and do my hair before I go, but generally don't sparkle or smell of peach. I am not 16 anymore either!!!
  12. That's great news!! Hope this is the just right fill for you!
  13. That's fabulous...I love the milestones too!! So far I have left 280s, 270s, 260s and 250s behind...I am can't wait to hit one-derland!!! Congrats!!!
  14. Happy Birthday Suzanna, How about you give yourself a nice big birthday gift and set yourself mini goals. Get back on track, don't drink while you eat and I guarantee by the end of next week, you will have an even better birthday gift! You can do this, it can be frustrating...I have gotten off track too. It's easier to eat fast food when my family is not home, but I try to make healthier choices and balance my calories throughout the day. If I am going to eat a burger for dinner, be healthy at breakfast and lunch. We are here for you to give you support, hugs and slaps!! JUST DO IT!!
  15. I agree with the other gals...fills are tricky. After my fill on Wednesday, I had no restriction...but today it's starting. It can come and go, from what I have read of others. My surgeon removed the fluid in my band before the fill to check the content. If your fill doctor extracts the fluid first, he can tell what's in there and if their is leakage or not. My surgeon put 3cc of fluid in my 9cc band during surgery and add 1cc on Wednesday. When he extracted the fluid, I still had 3cc and all was well. Good luck, I hope everything is ok!
  16. Just click on a name, it will give you the option to add as a friend and the person is on your friend list, they do not need to be notified, it's for your own personal list.
  17. Hi Shasha, with the band, the days of grazing are gone. You have 3 meals per day and a snack inbetween if needed. No more eating all day long, as I used to do. I have been able to adapt in a very short time and you can do it too!!! Best of Luck with your decision!
  18. Hi Phoenix, I am in exactly the same boat. I had my fill on Wednesday, currently have 4cc in a 9cc band and although I do get full after about 3/4 cup of food, it doesn't stick for long. I need a snack inbetween meals or I am starving by mealtime. My surgeon is very flexible and said to call him if I don't feel restriction. I can come in anytime for another fill. I may give him a call next week and see what he says. The following week I am at the cottage and won't be available to go. Are their fill doctors who put a time limit inbetween fills...4 weeks or so? What is the purpose to this? I hope you are able to get what you need soon! Good Luck!
  19. If you follow the guidelines, the likelihood of slippage is rare. If you have your fills under fluro, the band is seen and can be checked. This is not something I worry about at all...as long as you treat your band well, everything should be okay!
  20. Nice to hear from you and go happy that you are doing well and loving your life with the band. When in June did you have your surgery? I had mine here in Canada on June 10th. Have a wonderful weekend and pop in anytime for some conversation!!
  21. Vix, thinking of you today...hope all is going well and you and your husband can see how wonderful this life changing event can be for both of you!! When you are ready, please let us know how things went. Take care!
  22. You are too cute! Maybe after my tummy tuck!!
  23. Phoenix, you are probably right...I did not take into consideration the foods involved and it would be difficult to eat with good restriction. Good point!
