  1. I grab either Wendy's chili or their chicken strips. Yummy!!!
  2. That's wondeful! Happy Birthday ...on Saturday!! Men can be thoughtful at times...can't they???
  3. It's a colon cleanser...will not affect your band at all...safe to take...like the others warned, stay close to a bathroom! Good Luck!
  4. Me too!! And me too!!! I was supposed to have my first fill on July 16th and still had some restriction, so he didn't do it...two days later...bandster hell hit full force..restriction gone!!! I have my first fill tommorrow too!! It will probably be a small one, but anything will do right now!! Good Luck tommorrow!
  5. Hi Jena, It sounds really good...I love chicken, any and all ways!!!
  6. Oh Jena, you make me laugh...how are you? Haven't seen you around in awhile....good to see you!!
  7. I just realized how much you have lost...wow...you are doing so amazing and I love the new profile pic...hot mama!!! Have you realized that you could potentially lose 100 lbs in under a year!!! My inspiration!!! Is your fill working for you? I have my first fill on Wednesday...I am kind of afraid that it will cause too much restriction...I like being able to gulp down my water....sipping sucks!
  8. My surgeon said he will only be giving me little fills too...which is fine for me, I guess, I'm only an hour away and the cost has been pre-paid...I just want restriction back without PBing!!!
  9. Good for you! I guess, like the others have said...losing weight and looking great will be your best revenge!! You go girl!!!
  10. Hi Alana, You are absolutely right and why couldn't you say what you wished you could have? What did you say to her? Anyone that I have told, I have been totally upfront in telling them how it works and if they think this is the easy way out, ask me what my pre-op diet consisted of...ask me how it felt to be on liquids for a month after surgery, ask me about sitting infront a plate of my favourite food and only able to eat 3-5 bites of it and stop. I've been on every diet in the book...and it was alot easier than this is. It's not about taking the easy way out, it's about taking the permanent way to good health. I applaud you for your words!!! Next time, say them, you have every right to!!!
  11. When you say, you ate what you wanted....are you following the guidelines? Protein, veggies, grains and fruit. I was banded June 10th...and have not had a fill yet. I have lost consistently since surgery approx 25 lbs. I find that when I bump up the protein, I lose. You are on the right track, be patient, it will happen!!
  12. I have it, isn't it great!!! I also have another one, but cannot recall the name of it right now..but I will get it this evening and let you know.
  13. Hi Jessica, Congrats on your surgery date. I was banded on June 10th, I lost 12 lbs during pre-op diet, but my pre-op was different from the OCC. I was banded here in Canada and had to drink 4 Optifast shakes per day and that's it. My post op diet, consisted of 4 days of clear liquids, 2 weeks of creamy soups and 2 weeks of mushy/blended foods, solids started July 11th (one month post op) I am just starting to exercise now...all but abs which I cannot to until Sept 10 (3 months post op). You will do great, if you are committed to the lifestyle change, you will be successful!!! Best of Luck!
  14. My experience may be different again...I was banded here in Canada. My pre-op diet consisted of 4 Optifast shakes per day for two weeks. My post-op diet was longer than that of the OCC. 4 days of clear liquids, 2 weeks of full liquids (creamy soup stage), two weeks of mushy foods (mashed or blended foods). I started on solids July 11/08. I believe my pre-op and post op diet plan was the strict of all that I have seen on the forum. If you don't have to do one...you have lucked in!!! Good Luck!!
  15. As BandForLife stated, take Biotin to avoid the risk of hairloss. I have been taking it since pre-op diet and had no problems ast all!
  16. Bubs, you can blend chunky soups for the full liquid stage. I ate cream of potato mixed with cream of cheddar and chewed the heck out of the chunks and I was fine. Good Luck!
  17. Don't say "ONLY", whatever you have lost is a huge accomplishment!!! Be proud!!
  18. Really??? The first question my surgeon asked was "is it restriction or willpower?"...I think it's important for your fill doctor to consider willpower. I had restriction on July 16th when I went, so he wouldn't do a fill, but two days later, I lost it...and have my first fill on July 30th. I would talk to him. Good Luck!
  19. You are all just too good to me!! Hugs to all!!
  20. I second that!!! MamaMichelle is doing amazing...she's our lapband guru!! LOL!! MamaMichelle you are a true inspiration to all of us!!
  21. Vix, that's put another bright light on things, he is able to cook, eat and run marathons...just think, if you got healthy, you could enjoy some of those things together, you could approach it that way?? Best of luck.
  22. Wow Vix, you do have a dilemma....the note is a good idea, it gets the subject out there for discussion. I totally understand that you and your husband have made decisions together throughout your marriage, however, some decisions have to be made on your own. I decided to get banded, came home and told my husband, he said" you don't have to do something that drastic, I love you the way you are" . I appreciated those words, but decided to go ahead with it for me and my health. He was fully supportive and took me to the appointments and to the hospital for surgery. He would not agree to having surgery out of province ( I live in Ontario, Canada), so proposing the OCC, was not an option. I told him that I would arrange to pay for it myself and we left it at that. If you tell him how important this is to you and your health and that if need be, you will finance it yourself. You want him to support you, but if he cannot, you are going to do it anyway. If he truly loves you and wants to make you happy and healthy, he'll at least think about it. Good luck with this, if you need anything at all, just ask!!
