  3. Julie, I am sorry you are struggling...I think the lifestyle change can get to us sometimes....we are changing. We are not the people we used to be, using food for comfort..we are forced to find something else, it can be stressful. I hope you feel better soon...take care.
  4. Hi there, popcicle is okay during clear liquid phase..fudgecicle is for non-clear liquid stage. You can have jello too!!! Good luck!
  5. Congratulations!! Wow that came up quickly!! Don't stress about the weight loss...my patient co-ordinator told me that the pre-op diet is designed to reduce the liver and not to focus on the scale. It is possible for your liver to be reduced of fat and the scale not show it. Best of luck and let us know how everything goes!!!
  6. Thanks everyone!! You are all so sweet!! I feel fantastic now, imagine when I'm at goal!!
  7. I am a chronic snacker, especially in the evening. I found that if my stomach is not hungry (growling and tossing and turning) I am not hungry, but if it is I am. I figure if my stomach is screaming at me "feed me" and you can literally hear it out loud....it's not head hunger!!
  8. I agree with MamaMichelle, talk the OCC, get a fill and back on track and you will be on the road to an even thinner life in no time!! Best of Luck!
  9. Wow, good for you...it's amazing isn't it...I gave three bags of clothes to charity yesterday, stuff that was too big or outdated. I feel your excitement!!!!
  10. Once you get used to the band lifestyle, you will be happy to be full on 3-5 bites. It's when you have no restriction and can eat endlessly, because you are constantly hungry that is difficult...that's when your willpower has to control your portions. Most can eat 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of food, protein, veggies, grains and fruit (in that order). I rarely get to grains and fruit at a meal. I eat fruit for a snack, if I need one. You will do fine!!
  11. Do it, I would love to see the new you!!!
  12. Glad to hear you are doing well!! You will burp from both ends quite often from this point forward!!! Best of Luck with your recovery!
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU BOTH!!!!! HERE'S TO A WONDERFUL YEAR...CHEERS!!!
  14. Now that's what I love to hear!! You go girl!! Tummy tuck and breast enhancement could not be better 40th birthday present!!! You'll do great!
  15. I believe it will bring you and your hubby closer together, you can support each other through the good and tough times and understand what each other is going through. I don't really know anyone in my city, who's had it done...but this forum has been so wonderful!! Best of Luck!
  16. That's good news...glad they found out the problem and were able to correct without her losing her band. Give her our best!!!
  17. YEAHHHHHH!!! Good for you, it's a go!!! Now don't be nervous, it's going to be the best decision you and your hubby ever made, you'll see!!! Congrats!!
  18. Thinking of you and your sister...let us know when you find out what's going on. A friend of mine who had gastric bypass surgery in late may, developed a serious infection in your stomach...she's been hospitalized for 3 weeks to get it under control...but luckily they caught it early and she's going to be fine. Your sister will be fine too!!
  19. Sorry, been banded on June 10th, but wish you tons of luck with your surgery. Don't be nervous, you will do great!! Congrats on making the life changing decision! Be sure to let us know how things go! > > >
  20. Absolutely, I feel much more confident in my clothes...I have always cared about my appearance no matter how heavy I am or was. I love clothes, jewelley and make up....but now even more so. I went out last night with a friend who hadn't seen me since before my post-op diet in late May and 36 pounds ago. I had also cut my hair shorter and had it highlighted blonde...so I looked like a totally different person....and of course she was overwhelmed with how good I looked...imagine in another two months?? I carry myself better already...when I reach my goal I guess I will be a true Diva!!LOL!! Love it!!!!
  21. Well Paula you've done it, I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat...and darn it I cannot eat the Lean Cuisine I just heated up! You have been such a pillar of strength for all us and we feel honored to be there for you. Always!! I hope this is a turning point to better days! Luv ya hon! > > > > > > > > > >
  22. Relax and take a deep breath, listen to what everyone else has said and decide for yourself if this is what you need to do to be healthy. I made the decision and did not think too much about it afterwards....over-thinking it will make you crazy. You need to make a committment to changing your lifestyle forever....if you can do that, you will do just fine. Pat yourself on the back for making such a life changing decision!!! Best of Luck!
  23. My tummy was swollen for about 2-3 weeks, wore comfy pants and tops during this time. I did not sleep on my port side for about a month, it took that long before the port discomfort went away. Everyone is diffent though, do what feels comfortable for you!
