  1. That's okay, I can't feel mine either...at my last check up my surgeon asked me to lay flat and then lift my head and he felt it...try that, you may have some luck. If you still can't don't worry about it...surgeons can.
  2. Oh Kim, you are just too sweet for your own good!!! What a lovely message...you should pat yourself on the back too, because you provide us all with inspiration on an ongoing basis. I love to see your before and after pics...and how wonderful you have done with your weight loss! I am absolutely addicted to this forum and even my husband is starting to feel left out. LOL!! You are all the best friends I have never met!!!
  3. I have a three year old carmel colored "kittycat" named Cassie and a 3 month old hamster named Ricky. Try that one in the same household!!! Cassie thinks Ricky is a mouse and "oh she tries!!!" LOL!!
  4. That is totally normal...try to get as much fluids in as you can, anytime of day. Don't worry about only eating three meals, drink broth, water, eat jello and popcicles as much as you can. No calorie counting during healing. The gas is normal as well. The scale is reflecting water retention and swelling from surgery...I gained 7 lbs...lost it in a few days. Until you are past your post-op diet, which is the healing time...get as much fluids in as you can...calorie counting comes later! Take care
  5. Sorry to hear you have some troubles, everyone's post op experience can be different. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Port pain is totally normal and can last 4-6 weeks. Rest and relax and you will be good as new in no time!! Congrats! > =D>
  6. Sorry to hear about your PBing episode. I found steak hard to chew and sometimes it would get a little stuck. Fish is a great choice for protein, if you like it. Cod 5 oz 111 Cal 24.94 g protein Flounder 5 oz 112 Cal 31.67 g protein Haddock 5 oz 112 Cal 25.94 g protein Halibut 4 oz 114 Cal 23.70 g protein Salmon 4 oz 246 Cal 25.50 g protein I hope you feel better soon!
  7. When the glue wears off and your incisions are clean, polysporin is a good idea, Vit E oil or Bio Oil is great too to minimize the scars and promote healing.
  8. Wow you sound amazing for just having surgery...good for you!!! Safe trip home!! Welcome to BAND-LAND!!!!!!
  9. Wow, that's amazing, good for you!!!! Keep up the great work!
  10. I tested your #4 on Friday of last week...went to the local restaurant for lunch and I usually have to move the table when I get into the booth, and it was embarrassing.....last time I didn't and my friends noticed right away...huge NSV for me!!!
  11. It's hard, no doubt about it, but it's worth it...you'll struggle, but you will also be successful. The pre-op diet prepares you for the lifestyle change and prepares your body for surgery. Keep in mind that the surgeon needs you to reduce your liver so that your surgery goes successfully...if you don't there could be trouble. If they can't move your liver during the laproscopic procedure, they may need to open you up completely...and you don't want that!!! You can do this! When you feel hungry, go for a walk or a drive. Distraction works!! Good Luck!!
  12. You are right Jann...I will be claiming that receipt thru Revenue Canada next year!!!!!
  13. Well, I am in the shoes of many others now...6 weeks post op and I am feeling hungry all the time now!! I had a chance for a fill last week and still had some restriction.....my surgeon did not recommend it yet....duhhh!! I should have insisted and taken it! I have another appt for next Wed, July 30th, I hope it does the trick!
  14. Wow, you are doing fantastic!!! Sorry your not feeling well, but a least you still have your sense of humour!!!LOL!!! Keep up the great work, time will fly by so fast, before you know it you will on the operating table dreaming of Fabio!!LOL!! Take care!
  15. Rewarding yourself makes the journey a positive one. For every 10 lbs I lose, I buy myself some jewellery (costume) or a pair of shoes. I am a shopaholic and it's been really tough not buying clothes right now. Do you reward yourself? Do it, even if it's putting aside $20 towards a tropical vacation or going to the movies with friends. We all deserve a reward for our efforts!!!!
  16. Cranky is normal, I am sure we've all had those days, even with the band. Best of luck, safe trip and be sure to let us know how you are doing!!! You are almost on the other side..Whoot hooo!!!!
  17. Great observation...my family and I went to Punta Cana, D.R. in January of this year and I brought my sexiest one peice bathing suits...I figured, no one knows me there, I can do this. I did it!! I wore my bathing suit, which showed off my best asset (my newly reduced and lifted boobs) and had a fabulous time. I got into the pool and out of the pool and there were people wearing less, bigger than me. It was liberating!! Oh and there were skinny woman who went topless...and my boobs were nicer than theirs!!! LOL!!! Next time I go there...I will be in a much smaller bathing suit, showing much more, ha ha ha!!! Great story!!!
  18. I just bought a Leg Magic (you can find them at QVC/Walmart) from the Canadian Shopping Channel, I also bought Aeorbic balls to exercise my arms, I already had a Body Flex bar for arms, legs and abs. About an hour after dinner, I work out on the Leg Magic (DVD comes with it) and the Aerobic balls (DVD comes with it) for my legs and arms, no ab work until Sept 10th (3 months post op). I am working hard to avoid getting hanging skin on my legs, butt and arms (need to get rid of the wings). I am not comfortable going to a gym (they are full of skinny people), so I chose to exercise at home. I also have a Gazelle (moves like cross country skiiing) in my rec room...this weekend I plan to set up a little home gym downstairs and step it up a notch. Aquacise/Aquafit is a great idea!
  19. We have another comedian amongst us....too funny!!! LMAO
  20. I would like to go back to Disney World with my family and not worry about fitting into the airplane seats or the seats on the rides. What do you think about doing?
  21. Wow, poor little guy...thank goodness my boys are past the playground stage.
  22. OMG!! I laughed out loud and so hard...too cute.
