  1. Me either, I used to live on Advil for headaches and haven't had one since surgery...amazing eh!
  2. Hi Tristessa, yes you can have it flat, but it doesn't taste nearly as good. The carbonation burn is what I miss. Besides, diet soda cancels out any water you drink and is a diaretic and inhibits weight loss...so do your best to avoid it. Good Luck! Cathy
  3. Add this link to your signature if you want the sparkle star. http://www.phenforum.com/glitters/style6/16.gif Change the last number "16" to whatever number of lbs lost. Cathy
  4. Hi Paula, How are you sweetie?? That's the coolest thing ever!!! I want one too!!! Hope you are doing fantastic, you are looking great! Cathy
  5. You are doing great, drink lots of water and you will drop the weight. Best of luck with your surgery....a little over a week to go!!! Whoot hooo!!! Cathy
  6. Congrats!!! Yes try to get some calories into you. Jello, popcicles, protein water. You don't want to get sick. I know how you feel, the first 4 days, I struggled to get anything into me. I probably got 200 calories a day...and could barely sip water. It's tough, but you need to do it to keep up your strength for healing. Best of Luck! Cathy
  7. Wow, you are looking amazing!!! Good job! Cathy
  8. Wow! Me too...no caffiene since quiting diet soda on May 27th...I feel much better!!! Cathy
  9. Hi there, everyone loses at different rates and speeds....sometimes your body needs time to adjust to the lifestyle change and holds onto the weight. Make sure you are eating 1000-1200 calories per day and taking your multi-vitamins. If your body goes into starvation mode, it won't drop the lbs. I find when I eat more protein, I lose. I am 40 days post op and have lost on average 4-5 per week. I started solids on July 11th and eat healthy meals, protein, veggies, grains and fruit. So eat more protein, try not to be so strict and your body will let it go!!! Best of Luck! Cathy
  10. Hi Stormy, Carbonated drinks cause gas build up in your pouch and can stretch it, defeating the purpose of keeping the pouch small, so that you feel full on very little food. They should be avoided at least for the first six months, and if you do have carbonated after that, in very small quantities. I chose not have any carbonated drinks anymore, I don't want to risk it. Cathy
  11. Hi Christina, good for you...you have the date booked, that's a huge accomplishment...you will do great! I was scared that I would not be able to control my addiction to junk food too...but I eat well 99% of the time and have a treat once in awhile. That's how I will succeed. I have given up diet coke and I'm okay with that now. I do not feel deprived at all, and that's the kicker for me. If I feel deprived, I will fail. Best of luck and if you have any questions at all, just ask, we are here for you now and later!!! Cathy
  12. Best of Luck Shannon, you will do great!! Don't be nervous, think of it as the first day of the rest of your healthy, thinner life!!!! Let us know how you are doing okay?! Cathy <' />
  13. Hi iamworthit, I am almost 6weeks post op and my restriction is really good, I drink tons of water (chug it down now) and I am still losing. Down another 2 lbs this week, hit 35 lbs in just 54 days!!! Whoot hooo!!!! I am following the plan and having a treat once in awhile, not feeling deprived at all, which is a huge plus for me! You are doing fabulous as well!!! Good for you!! Cathy
  14. sphynxmomma, I love your new Avatar pic..you look great! Cathy
  15. I used to be like that too...,but since being banded and drinking only water, I chug at least two bottles during the evening and thought I would be up all night in the bathroom, but I'm not, I guess my body needs it, or I am dead tired?? thanks Julie! Cathy
  16. I can relate....ordered pizza and wings the other night, it came with a bottle of Diet Coke and OMG! I wanted a sip so bad, I didn't. I have been Diet Coke free since May 27th when my pre-op diet started and I do miss the burn of carbonation. I only drink water now, and skim milk with cereal. I even tried to add Crystal Lite to water and it was too sweet, yuk! It's mind over matter and you can do it...I just say to myself, "I CAN'T HAVE IT" and grab a water. If you enjoy the taste, you can always take a sip of flat diet coke, but to be honest it's not the same. Deep breath and you'll be just fine! Cathy
  17. Hi there, I had that and canker sores too...drinks lots of water, make sure you get enough protein and B12. I also bought a bacterial rinse, which really helped. Good Luck Cathy
  18. That's what I thought...but my surgeon told me to wait an hour and then drink...I think that's the standard. I drink like crazy between meals and feel really full, water logged and seem to feel full for several hours from eating. My surgeon also told me I could have a snack between meals if I need to. Which may be a different philosophy than the OCC. I just didn't want the water to stretch anything...for the first few weeks I struggled to sip enough water, now I can chug it and I do. Cathy
  19. Thanks Mom12...it's my goal pic...I was 140 when that pic was taken and I want that body back!!! Cathy
  20. Hi Julie, don't be embarrassed, you travelled along way to get the fill and deserve to know if you got enough. You double checked and it was okay. That's all that matters. Sometimes you need to get a second opinion. Drs can make mistakes too. I hope the fill is successful for you! Feel better, Cathy
  21. Great pics Kim, you have great legs!!! Your daughter is so adorable and the puppy is too! Thanks for sharing! Cathy
  22. Thanks Bragman, that's good to know....I have been a bit concerned. I drink alot of ice water at night about 2-3 bottles from 7-10 and feel extremely full, so much so it hurts and I just didn't want to jeaopardize anything. I have only been banded for 5 1/2 weeks. Have a good one! Cathy
  23. Hi Blazn, I tried a bite or two of pizza last night and some chicken wings and they were more work than they were worth...chewing like crazy really ruins it. I think I am off pizza too! Cathy
  24. Thanks Clynn, So feeling really full after drinking tons of water, is not doing anything bad? I'm glad, I get really thirsty about an hour after eating...and I am avoiding salt at all costs! I guess it's the humity here....have a great weekend! Cathy
