  1. Well NicoleK, after the amount of weight you have lost, which is fantastic....$2500 is nothing towards a new wardrobe. You go girl!
  2. I find that when I drink alot of water, at least one hour after a meal, I feel extremely full. I am assuming that the water is going through my pouch into my larger stomach area....is this correct? If I still have food in my pouch and start drinking lots of water, can it stretch the pouch? Even when I feel full, I keep drinking, is this wrong? Thanks Cathy
  3. When LOST first came out I watched it all the time...but over time I literally got lost...and haven't watched it for awhile. I prefer mindless entertainment after a long day at work!!LOL!! Cathy
  4. I am trying not to, either...I have been doing so well, I treated myself today. I am a junk food junkie and 2 1/2 months without is amazing for me...if I can have a McDonald's cheeseburger every 2 1/2 months, I am succeeding!! Thanks Kim, Cathy
  5. Today I was out and about running errands and the kid wanted McDonald's for lunch, so I caved. I haven't been to McDonalds in 2 1/2 months. Before the band, I would have ordered a Quarter Pounder w/Cheese and Large Fry...today I ordered a cheeseburger. A McDonald's cheeseburger is 300 calories. I had a few fries from the kids and ate about 2/3 of the cheeseburger and I was full. I was able to keep the calorie intake within my daily and have room for a healthy dinner! I LOVE MY BAND!!! And I don't even have a fill yet, 6 weeks later!??!! Thanks for letting me share! Cathy
  6. Hi Julie, Thanks for the update, I hope this works for you. I didn't get a fill on the 16th as planned. I still have restriction and don't need one yet. I am booked for Aug 20th, so we'll see what happens. I guess sometimes the band provides restriction on it's own for awhile, but 6 weeks??? Take care Cathy
  7. Welcome Cujo! Glad to hear that you have made the decision to get healthy! As your wife can attest to, it's not easy, but it's worth it. Wish you all the best! Cathy
  8. I know what you mean! My smaller scars are healing well and fading fast, but my largest incision is rippled and is hard due to scar tissue. I bought some BIO OIL today, which is supposed to help reduce scaring, stretch marks and wrinkles...everything I need all in one bottle!!!LOL!! I believe they do fade over time, I had my gallbladder out a few years ago and the scars are scattered amongst my new band ones and you can barely see them anymore. Keep them moisturized and massage out any scar tissue and before you know it they'll be barely visable. Cathy
  9. Wow, that sounds wicked, I have never used diet pills, I have heard so many negative things about the side effects. Glad to hear that you are no longer taking them and are back to your wonderful self!!! Cathy
  10. Isn't that something!! I came accross similar discrepanies when shopping for soup for my post op diet. I picked up a Healthy Choice soup and compared to a regular soup and it was the same calories and almost the same stats. I was shocked, how manufacturers can label foods fat free, low fat etc when infact they are not. Thanks for the posting...a real eye-opener! Cathy
  11. Love you back Jules!!! Have a great weekend! Cathy
  12. Hi SharonP, Sorry to hear you're not feeling well...like the other ladies said you can take pills. Your band is strong, so don't worry about coughing. Vomiting is the thing to avoid if at all possible. Feel better!!! Cathy
  13. I don't really know, I don't think so...but I have been because it's still a little tender when I lean on it? I guess I just answered my own question...if you are comfortable doing it, do it!! Thanks Erin, Cathy
  14. I was wondering when it's okay to lay on your stomach after surgery. I am almost 6 weeks post op and by the time I go on vacation I will be two months post op...and would like to lay on my tummy to tan, will it hurt my port? Cathy
  15. Thanks for sharing that info...kinda scarey looking at the before shots...I sure hope I don't have hanging skin to that extent. Cathy
  16. Hi Cheryl, First of all you have done fantastic with your weight loss, 68 lbs is amazing. I was banded on June 10th and still have restriction as well. Sometimes the band does it on it's own for awhile. I have had episodes of food getting a little stuck too...chew well. Are you feeling that you need a fill now? Try to follow the guidelines, protein, veggies, grains, fruit and have a treat once awhile. You are doing so great, keep it up, it's worth it!!! Cathy
  17. Glad to hear you are up and around! Gas pain will can last awhile, gets some gas meds and walk it off. Best of Luck! Cathy
  18. That's okay, I was trying to message you about you know who and couldn't send it. I was getting an error message, so I thought if you could message me, I would be able to tell you what was going on..using the jeans as a cover! Cathy
