  1. No Francie, that's not what we are saying.. everyone is different, some people have restriction for a few weeks after surgery and then it fades and a fill is required. I went to my surgeon today for a fill and didn't need one yet...I am five weeks post op and still have restriction and continue to lose weight. My surgeon told me not to expect weight loss between surgery and first fill...but yet again, everyone is different, I have lost 12 lbs in 5 weeks! Try not to get discouraged, like I said everyone is different and has different needs, you will do just fine. Cathy
  2. If your clothing is getting bigger on you, then you are losing and obviously your body is changing....I couldn't see a difference myself either, but when I posted them and showed them to friends of mine (who are brutally honest), they did she a change. Show the pics to someone else, I bet they see a difference. You are doing great, chin up and keep up the great work!!! Cathy
  3. Wow, you look amazing..you can really see a huge difference now!!! Good for you!! Cathy =D>
  4. Go get Biotin, I have been taking it since pre-op diet and no problems with hairloss at all!!! Cathy
  5. Hi Kim I have watched every Big Brother to-date, but missed Sunday and was only able to see a few minutes last night..I will have to start fresh on Thursday night. I love that show! I toggle back and forth between America's Got Talent. Cathy
  6. You will do great, you are in control of your own destiny...if you don't want to fail, you won't. You have done amazingly so far, keep it up! Cathy
  7. Wow Anita, you are looking amazing...no wonder Canada is getting hotter by the day...you are giving off sparks!!!! Keep up the great work pretty lady! Cathy =D> >
  8. Hey, fellow Canadian girl, best of luck with your surgery and be sure to let us know how everyone goes! Take care and safe trip! Cathy
  9. Hi Everyone, Well I drove to the clinic this afternoon and spoke with my surgeon and he did not recommend a fill right now. As long as I have some restriction and continue to lose weight, he doesn't feel the need for a fill right now. So I am scheduled for another appointment on August 20th, but can go in anytime before then if I need one. I guess I am one of the lucky ones right now, where the band is providing restriction on it's own. I hope it lasts!! Cathy
  10. Hi Julie, Well that does not sound like fun at all!!! I guess it is really important to slow down and chew like crazy...otherwise, we pay for it! I hope you feel better today and good luck with your fill! Cathy
  11. I know whatcha mean...I just couldn't wait and sipping water seems to get it down or burping. I get a panicked look on face and my husband and kids start to freak thinking I'm going to barf at the dinner table. I will chew better and hopefully it won't happen again. Cathy
  12. You are too funny!!! I am so happy the fill is working for you...I can relate to food getting stuck. Last night I had steak and it got stuck, tried to push it down with a little mashed potato, got worse...sipped some water...more water, finally it went down. OMG was it ever scarey! But I was probably eating too fast and not chewing well enough, lesson learned!!! Cathy
  13. Glad you had a nice trip, we missed you too!!! What a small world eh? Have a great day! Cathy
  14. That's good news Mona, good luck on your fill!!! My first one is today! Wish me luck! Cathy
  15. Safe trip Julie and best of luck on your fill...hope this is the one!!! Let us know how you are doing when you return! Cathy
  16. Hi Trina, I bought a tub of Soy Protein, unflavoured and can add to any drink or dish and it's tasteless. I try to avoid using it and eating protein enriched foods as much as I can. Good luck finding something that tastes good! Cathy
  17. Hi there, yes I live in Kitchener, Ontario...I had my surgery in Mississauga 5 weeks ago and have all of my fills and f/up visits there. They are unlimited and included for the next 5 years. So luckily, I don't have to travel far or search for a fill dr. Cathy
  18. Good to hear from you Jim, we've been thinking about you and your family. Cathy
  19. You certainly have a houseful! They are all amazing..I just want to cuddle them. You are a lucky lady to have so much love! Cathy
  20. I usually stop drinking 30 minutes before eating and wait an hour afterwards...not sure what the exact rules are, but that is what works for me! Cathy
  21. They are all so adorable!! Cathy
  22. You are so right Paula, it's not that you were banded in TJ is that you weren't banded by them. They don't want to be responsible for any problems that may arise. Cathy
  23. I am sorry to hear that, it would have been ideal for you to have your fills close to home. I am not surprised though, here in Canada, the same thing happens, my clinic in Mississauga has been getting calls from TJ patients and because my clinic did not perform the surgery, they won't do the fills. I assumed the procedure was the same whereever you go, but that may not always be the case. At the OCC the surgery is much shorter than here in Canada. My surgery took almost 2 hours and I heard some of the surgeries done at OCC are 20-40 minutes tops. I wish you luck finding a fill centre close by. Take care, Cathy
  24. Good For You! You are ready to do this! Your willpower is kicking in!!! Cathy
