  2. OMG!! Your new puppy is precious!! I just want to squeeze her!!! You did good! Cathy
  3. I know exactly what you mean! I was debating whether or not to post my one month post op pics today, because I really didn't see a difference. But when you look at yourself everyday, you tend to see the same old person and don't really notice the changes, others will though! I notice my double chin is going away, but I can't really tell anywhere else...but my hubby can see a difference in my butt. I think we tend to look at ourselves as always heavy even though we are shrinking....it's your mind's eye taking over the mirror. You are doing fabulous, post some before and during pics and I know we would definitely see a difference!!! Cathy
  4. Have you tried a medical financing company? If all else fails, they tend to approve, only the drawback is the interest rate is higher than a bank. Here in Canada, we have Medicard and I was approved in 5 minutes, but decided to go the bank instead. Good Luck I hope you can get the financing you need! Cathy
  5. Thanks everyone, I do feel great...and can't wait for next month!!! Cathy

  10. You guys are funny! And Mona, I recall you saying you like the crap, not just the banner!! LOL!! And you had alot of crap to sling, considering you have a bunch of animals!! Either way, we love crap...whether it's written here or in the litter box!!!! I have a kitty too!! Cathy
  11. Hi Dawn, Jena coined the phrase as a result of a member of the forum complaining about all of the crap on the board. Mona said she liked the crap and alot of us agreed with her. Hense Team Crapstatic...those of us who like to read the crap. Wanna join...Jena can send you the banner. Cathy
  12. I have a call into my clinic now...I am thinking it could be my B12 deficiency. I have an rx for injections monthly, but have not had a chance to go, so I have been using the desolvable strips instead, but maybe those aren't enough. Protein could be an issue as well, not enough...but I am doing the best I can for the amount of food I eat???? Thanks everyone for your feedback! Cathy
  13. Don't chicken, out...you and your husband can do this!!! You will be so happy you did! And if you have any more questions about what to expect, just ask, we are all here for you!!! Cathy >
  14. Listen to the ladies before me, they are absolutely right. I am 45 years old, my highest weight was 285. I have been banded for one month and weigh 252. It's a tool you work with, it's not a magic wand that will suddenly make you skinny. You make healthy food choices and the key is to get the band to the sweet spot, so that you are full on very little food until your next meal. That is the difference between dieting and eating healthy with the band. Diets fail because you are hungry and feeling deprived. The band is successful because when it works right, you are not hungry between meals and eat less of both healthy foods and the foods you love. It's all moderation. Best of luck with your decision!! Cathy
  15. I'm sorry to hear you are struggling Carrie. Do not throw in the towel, you said it yourself, you are on your monthly, which can definitely cause bloating, I am in the boat right now too...the scale hasn't budged in days. Water...tell me about it...on pre-op I was a fish...now I can barely make a dent in two bottles per day, sipping is not working...I love cold, cold water and used to gulp 1/2 bottle at a time, but now, I just can't. You are doing great, don't give up, we are all going to hit the wall a few times throughout this process, we just need to put the scale away, continue on the right track and it will happen! Hugs!! Cathy >
  16. Congratulations!!! Glad you are feeling good...safe trip home! Cathy >
  17. Well, that's just great! I guess I will have to spend half my life hiding in the bathroom! LOL!! Cathy
  18. That's great, I had wicked restriction for 3 1/2 weeks, I am 4 weeks now and it's just starting to dimished. Enjoy it while you have it!!! You will lose a bunch too! Cathy
  19. I know!!!! I am one month in....and OMG the gas! I put my boys to shame!! LOL!! After lunch is the worst, as soon as I stand up the gas bubble come up and if I open my mouth, I have no control at all! LOL!! And after dinner...it comes out the other end, all night long! How long does this last? Am I destined to be a human ball of gas???? Cathy
  20. You really are just a cuddly teddy bear in disguise, aren't you???LOL!! Cathy > >
  21. Welcome Grammy!!! Congrats on your decision to get healthy!!! Yes, I think we have all been there, when I was researching and making plans to make the decision, I ate everything insight too. But when I made the decision and booked the appointment, I decided to start eating healthier and getting myself mentally ready for the lifestyle change. I was banded a month ago and I am so happy I did it....there is no doubt that it's a complete lifestyle change, but for every inch that goes away and for every pound down on the scale, I can honestly say, I worked for that! Best of Luck and if you have any questions at all, you can ask right here, we have veteran bandsters and newbies and greatest support system around!!! Cathy
  22. I was thinking that I might be B12 deficient again or I am not getting enough protein. I am going to start writing everything down that I eat and the protein grams, so that I can keep track. I do have unflavoured protein powder to mix into foods as well. I see my surgeon next week, I will ask him. Thanks Cathy
  23. I am wondering if everyone else experiences this and what may be causing it? It doesn't last long, but it's weird. Thanks Cathy
