  7. I had nausea after about a week too, I think it was from lack of protein and recovering from surgery. I took a Zantac and it passed. Hope you feel better soon, Cathy
  8. MamaMichelle is so right!!! You can do this!! Take this experience and learn from it. You don't want to endure the struggles they have. Good Luck! Cathy
  9. I found out the closest city to you is Prince George, tried searching everything I could and no luck. How far is Washington from you? Another banded friend of mine goes there from Surrey BC. Good Luck! Cathy

  11. Oh Kimmie, I am so sorry you lost your dog, I know exactly how you feel. I am a cat lover and lost my cat after 15 years, she came before my husband and kids and was my baby from 3 weeks old. She was also my grandmother's cat's kitten and connected me to my grandmother who passed away. I got another cat about 6 months later, I would have gotten her sooner, but my husband thought it would be best to wait. If you want another dog, go get it...every animal in a shelter needs love and you have all the love in your heart to give. So follow your heart! ((((HUGS)))) Cathy >
  12. I would follow the plan your surgeon set out for you. My pre-op was completely fat free...which meant no meat, cheese...actually no food. I was on 4 Optifast shakes per day. Good luck, you get through this and be on the road to getting healthy and thin in no time!!! Cathy >
  13. I felt full after a small amount of food at lunch, but was hungry again after two hours. At dinner tonight, I had a small bbq pork chop, green/yellow beans and most of a baked potato...and I wasn't feeling really full like I used to. I guess I will be taking your advice from earlier today and getting my fill next Wednesday. I can't complain, I had restriction for 4 weeks, that's amazing...and lost 16 lbs since surgery....I can live with that!LOL!!! Thanks everyone! Cathy >
  14. I went through the same thing, my port site just stop hurting about 4 days ago, and I am 4 weeks post op today. It will go away and you will start feeling good again. Congrats! and Best of Luck! Cathy
  15. I will get the fill...my surgeon said they start small, which is good. I am only an hour away, so I can book fills whenever I need them, and all fills and f/ups visits for 5 years is included in my initial fee. Thanks everyone for your advice!!! Cathy
  16. I don't feel mine...maybe I am not pressing hard enough...is it located directly under the largest incision? Below it? Above it? Cathy
  17. Thanks Kim, So based on what I have said, would you say that I need one? I don't want to end up getting one and not being able to eat or drink at all. Cathy
  18. Hi everyone, I know it's seems like a silly question...I am scheduled for my first fill next week, but still have some restriction when I eat, however, I am not staying full for more than 1 1/2 hrs, would this be a signal for me to get a fill? I have a healthy snacks inbetween, which I shouldn't have to right? If I could eat more at meals, I would probably be full longer, but the restriction is stopping me from doing so. I would appreciate any feedback! Thanks Cathy
  19. Way to go!!!! Keep up the great work!!! Cathy
  20. That is great advice, I am trying to follow the same program. I felt guilty for having an unsweetened apple sauce or pudding for a snack in between meals when I was hungry, but they are under 100 calories and my daily is under 1200, so I am okay with that now!! Thanks MamaMichelle, have a great day! Cathy
  21. Yummmmmy!!! I haven't had a burger in 6 weeks! I bought some ground chicken, I think I will doctor it up with spices, onions and celery and have it on a light bun....mmmmmmmm!! Now I'm hungry again! Cathy
  22. I am able to eat between 1/2 and 3/4 cup of food per meal. Some days less than others, depending on the food I choose. I get full really quickly too...and I am finding lately the full feeling doesn't seem to last as long as it should. My first fill is scheduled for July 16th, so I will discuss this with my surgeon and we can determine if I need a fill or not. I eat a bowl of cereal (rice crispies or bran buds w/sweetener and skim milk) for breakfast and I stay full until lunch. For lunch I eat a bowl of soup, creamy w/chunks or vegetable and if I am not full, an unsweetened pudding or apple sauce. For dinner, I have tried mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes or rice (small amount), green veggies (brocolli or green beens) and fish or turkey(mashed). I find that my dinner never keeps me full all night, so I usually have a small snack of fruit, popcicle or fudgecicle mid-evening. I hope this info helps! Cathy
