  1. The same thing happens to me...I ask a question under General discussions about food and it ends up in the Post op food section. Someone must be monitoring the forum or a key word used in the post places it into a certain area??? It's a mystery!!! Cathy
  2. Wow, you are doing well. I could barely get water down. It took all of my power to drink a 1/4 cup of broth and suck on a popcicle. I am sure I barely got 200 calories per day during the first 5-6 days. Keep it up and you will recover in no time! Cathy >
  3. Would Biotin cause bruising or bruises to take longer to fade? I didn't know that??? I have been taking it daily since I started my pre-op diet May 27th, hmmm maybe that's why my bruises are taking longer to fade. Interesting. Cathy
  4. Yes I also bruise easily, and after a surgery I look like I have been beaten up. After my surgery on June 10th, I had a huge bruise on my left arm from the Heparin needle, another huge blood bruise from the IV on the inside of my left arm and my tummy was yellow from bruising during surgery. It's normal, it will go away. I still have traces of all three bruises three weeks later. When I went for my post op visit one week after surgery, the surgeon who assisted mine, did my post op interview and could not get over how much bruising I had, I said to him" what did you do to me while I was sleeping, beat me up?!" LOL!!! Taking Advil also promotes easy bruising, it's a blood thinner, so I was told not to take it a week before surgery. So I didn't. Take care, Cathy
  5. That fantatic!! Yes, I find my feet a bit skinner, they were really boney anyway...but I found the first place I lost part of my 30 lbs was in my hands and lower arms, my rings are swinging around my fingers and I have to move my watchband to a tighter hole! I was just saying to my hubby the other day, damn I am losing weight in my hands and feet, I want to lose it in butt, what the h*ll!! LOL!! Good for you Jena!!! Keep up the great work and go out and treat yourself to some new shoes...lotsa shoes!!!! Cathy

  7. Hi Trina, Congrats and glad you made it home safe and sound. I hope you feel better soon. You are probably going to tired and sore for a about a week, take it easy and rest. I can't even imagine travelling for 12 hours after going through surgery. I had a one hour drive home the same day as my surgery and that was the longest hour of my life!! Be well..Cathy >
  8. I haven't had a shake since my pre-op diet ended June 9th, I had to drink 4 shakes a day, no food, so I am staying clear of shakes for awhile!! If you enjoy them, go for it. I have been on a liquids and mush since May 27th...when I can have real solid food, I am not replacing a meal with a liquid. LOL!! Take care, Cathy

  13. So sorry to hear about your Mom..that's tough. Biotin seems to be working for me and I also bought a protein powder to mix into my food. I am on mushy foods now, so I have been eating alot of fish, which is great for protein too. Try it Julie, it won't hurt...it also helps increase your metabolism as well. Take care, Cathy
  14. I too experienced more hair loss than normal during my pre-op diet...4 shakes a day. I started taking Biotin and my hair is just fine. Try it! Cathy
