  1. Why yes, you look amazing...I wouldn't even peg you for 40 yet!! Hot mama! Cath
  2. In my 30's??? I just love you!!! You are the sweetest thing since chocolate cheesecake!!! I know, I am starting to lose my restriction and able to eat more....I don't like it, but my fill is 3 weeks away, so I am glad they are on top it...I am so fortunate that my clinic is only 1 hr away and all of my post op and fills are included for 5 years, in the fee I paid to have the surgery. If I need a fill, I can call and get one. They told me they were going to start small and gradually increase. How many fills have you had? Cathy
  3. I am 45 and was banded on June 10th, so I am still on my post op diet plan...I lost 17 lbs before sx and 11 since...but I am starting to stall. I am not able to exercise yet, but hope to start walking more in the next week or so...the port site is still painful and is preventing me from moving quickly these days. Have you measured your body? Sometimes when you are exercising and eating right, your fat turns to muscle and the numbers on the scale increase while the numbers on the measuring tape decrease. I think you are doing great, eat right, eat under 1200 calories, continue to exercise and it will come off!!! Good luck! Cathy
  4. LisaL said it, you look hot!!! Good for you!!! What an amazing transformation....and incentive for us all! Keep up the great work! Cathy
  5. I saw that too, wow!! She barely got a chance to get the weight loss underway and gets pregnant...unexpectedly...holy cow! Good for her if that's what she wants! I am done having my children, they are 16 and 10...so I am on the road to re-cooping my body back!! Cathy
  6. Hi Calgary Bandsters, I am hoping to come out west sometimes this year on business....stayed tuned and I will let you know when and if. I would love to meet up with you guys and have a bandster-style dinner!! Cathy
  7. Good for you!!! I am so happy for you....onward and downward...with the lbs!!! Cathy
  8. You are too funny....I think I'll hop in my car and go to the drive thru at A&W and when I get to the speaker, tell them I don't want anything...I just needed the rush!!! LOL!!! Luv it, Cathy
  9. Welcome and wow you are doing awesome!!! Here is where it happens...so join in anytime....Cathy
  10. I feel full and stop eating right away....lately I have developed a feeling of a lump in my throat and the nurse at my clinic said it's food waiting to go through the larger stomach, so try to stop eating before you feel the full feeling...yeh right!! I feel full I stop...I am not even eating that much...still on creamy soups. Listen to your body...and if it doesn't give you signals, set out reasonable portions (fist size) and try that. If you are still not satisfied...fill up on healthy food, veggies and fruit. Good luck Cathy
  11. Great news!!! Good for you!!! Keep up the great work...Cathy
  12. Hi there, we missed you! Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law, my condolences to you and your family. You are gonna win that walking contest...you can do it!!! Best of luck with your fill! Cathy
  13. You don't know what cabbage rolls are? Oh honey, you're missing out!!! It is ground pork, ground beef, rice and spices rolled into a cooked cabbage leaf and smothered in tomato sauce. It's a german delicacy. You really must try them...I am sure if you look on-line for a recipe you will find one. I am on mushy food as of Friday and figure the inside is pretty mushy and hopefully I will tolerate the rice. Yummy...can't wait!! Cathy
  14. Welcome! Congrats on a fabulous weight loss!!! Now that we have a doctor on the forum....we know where to go for help with medical issues!LOL!! Keep up the great work! Cathy
  15. I am not sure how many calories I am taking in these days, I am in the creamy soup stage and I have the following per day: Breakfast Cream of Wheat w/skim milk Unsweetened Apple sauce or Yogurt Lunch Creamy Soup Unsweetened Pudding Dinner Creamy Soup Snack Fudgecicle or Popcicle Trying so hard to get more than 2 bottles of water in per day. I had been losing almost a lb per day...but it's starting to slow now, been the same for two days, but not gaining. My surgeon told me not to expect weight loss between surgery and my fill...I have been lucky. I am following their recommended diet and I am not counting calories right now. I would however, recommend keeping them under 1200 and continue walking...best of luck! Cathy
  16. You bet...stay tuned on July 10th for some before and after shots....btw, you are doing amazing...what an inspiration!!! Cathy
  17. Really? I was awake for both of mine??? Cathy
  18. OMG!!! I wasn't wearing panties at all...and went I got up on the operating table...I was told to scoot my butt down to the split in the table...I assumed it was for cathetarization...not for someone to stand in between my legs!!! Yikes!! Too much information...need to clear my mind!! LOL!! Cath
  19. Oh yes, I am giving myself a huge pat on the back just for not having fast food for 6 weeks!!! We used to eat out 4-5 dinners per week, McDonald's, Wendy's, KFC, Swiss Chalet, fries, fries, grease and more grease. It's no wonder I gained so much weight over the past few years, I was a junk food junkie! I am working on my cravings for this type of food and being tested still. Tonight I got burgers and fries for the family and I ate my chili....I am exercising incredible willpower and haven't even snuck a fry! (Big pat on the back!!!) I would probably ingest 1500 - 2000 + calories daily...hence why I needed a lifestyle change. Although the smell of french fries makes my stomach rumble...I am fight it with everything I have. I am blowing my own horn because I have done a complete 360 and intend to continue on the road to healthy living...oh and my family just ate their last burger and fry dinner, unbeknownst to them!! LOL!! Cathy
  20. WOW!!! It's amazing how much you have changed in just one month...way to go!! Keep up the great work, you are on the road to hotsville!!! Cathy
  21. I was just joking...food talk, you know!? My favourite is cabbage rolls...I plan to have them for dinner on Friday night, just in the inside of the rolls with mashed potatoes, yummy! Cathy
  22. Congrats! You did it! I am only 15 days post -op and still have 2 weeks of mushy food to go (different diet plan for me, I was banded here in Canada). From reading on the forum, I have noted a list of problem foods...including bread, pasta, fried foods, beef (steak) , salad and dry chicken. I plan to ease into my solid food stage with easy foods like flakey fish, steamed veggies, baked or mashed potatoes or rice and soft fruits, then graduate to chicken and chunkier foods. I am not sure if PBing is common before a fill, I am sure some our more experience bandsters can advise you there. Enjoy and good luck! Cathy
  23. I guess relaxing in a pool is okay then..I would like to get in the pool next week while on vacation...I will be 3 weeks post op by then, so I should be fine. The incisions are healing well. Thanks everyone! Cathy
  24. Hi 2BAHottie, I was banded on June 10th and the same thing happened to me the other night after drinking from a juice box...major gas bubble in my chest. I drank a warm cup of hot chocolate and it came up, big!! I also have port site pain too...it takes 4-6 weeks for that discomfort to subside, from what I have been told. I am 2 weeks post op, you are almost there too...and still cannot sleep on that side and walk carefully to avoid straining. But it does go away, thank goodness. I gained 7 lbs with the bloating from surgery and I am down that and 11 more. I can tell my body is starting to level off though, the weight loss seems to be slowing down a bit. My surgeon told me not to expect any weight loss before my fill. I was surprised at that, considering I am on a liquid diet for 4 weeks and then mushy food for two weeks (banded here in Canada, diet plan is different from OCC). I finally get solids on July 11th!!! I am glad we have something in common, quite a few of us were banded that week and are experiencing similar symptoms, so you are not alone! Take care and keep in touch, Cathy
  25. All the best and let us know how you are doing!!!! Cheers to a new life and a new you! You hubby will be so proud of you, as we are!!!! Take care Cathy
