  1. OMG!! I had the most painful air bubble in my chest ( and throat after having a few sips from a juice box...wow!! I quickly made a cup of hot chocolate and after a couple of sips of warm liquid it subsided...thank goodness. Lesson learned and now shared. Cathy
  2. I just love looking at your before and after pics...what a huge transformation..you were pretty before and now you are smokin' hot and gorgeous!! My inspiration...Cathy
  3. That's fantastic Evette!! I had no idea that you had struggled so much...you did the right thing and cheers to you and your new life!! Cathy
  4. Thanks Jim, I woke up with wicked port site pain and thought that I had slept wrong, but I think I was just bloated, my belly was enormous today and I felt like crap all day..once it subsided, I felt alot better. I haven't had that feeling since a few days after surgery. I guess it's normal, considering. Are you still a smoker? I am too. I plan to give it up and set a goal down the road...maybe when I lose 100 lbs?? Take care Cathy
  5. OMG!!! You hit 60 lbs!!! WOW!! Good for you!!! Cathy =D>
  6. That's amazing MamaMichelle, It was so nice of that dr. to sit and talk to you...you have been doing fantastic and obviously are doing the right things. My surgeon told me that my fills will be small and gradual..which is fine with me, I certainly don't want to have to test the band or PB to find out I was over-filled. I am only one hour away from my surgeon and all of post op care including fills is covered by the fee paid upfront prior to surgery. So slow and steady is just fine with me. I hope you have found your sweet spot..so that you can continue on your amazing transformation!!! Take care Cathy
  7. Hi Danielle, I have been overweight since I was 14 yrs old and now at 45, I decided to get healthy. If your parents are agreeable to getting the band, do it now...and you will have a long and healthy life without the struggles of being overweight. Oh and sweetie, anyone who thinks this is the easy way out, knows nothing about it. Just read some of the posts and you will soon realize that having the band is not easy, it's hard work, sacrifice and a complete lifestyle change. I have been on a liquid diet for a month, no solid food...ask anyone how long they would last on a diet like that? I had my surgery on June 10th and started liquids two weeks before surgery. I cannot eat solid food until July 11th. No honey this is not the easy way!!! If you have any questions at all, you will find the answers here!! Or talk to Dr. O. Good luck! Cathy
  8. I have the Weight Watchers regular scale...and it works fine, it's within ounces of the doctor's scale. Cathy
  9. I am sorry you are disappointed, my surgeon told me that the fills will be small and gradual. I am okay with that because I paid upfront for my surgery and 5 years of aftercare, including fills. I can understand how frustrated you must be...it almost sounds like they are making money off of giving small fills so that you have to continue to go back. If I were you, I might check into another fill centre. Chin up, things will work out for you! Cathy
  10. I having been losing consistently since surgery, even though my surgeon said not to expect it. I am eating 25% of what I used to, so it's bound to happen. I anticipate it will slow down once I am on solid food and then my fill is just 5 days later, so we'll see. I was 268 on the day of surgery and today I am 257...YIPPEE!! Cathy
  11. No fast food burgers, fries and now no Subway...you poor lucky girl!!! Sorry to hear you were sick...I guess it's back to fish and veggies hon! Take care, Cathy
  12. You guys are too funny...how gullible am I eh? But I am thinking the next time I look at a burger from McD's I may wonder??? That's one way to avoid fast food! Thanks for the laugh! Cathy
  13. Thanks Ladies, I think I slept on the port side and bother it....I was doing so well...and today I feel like I have backtracked. I try to sleep on my other side, but my hip gets so sore, I just have to move. Have a great day! Cathy
  14. I have alot of port site pain today, could I have slept wrong? YOWWW!! Back to walking slow and cradling my tummy...when does this go away? :lb12: Thanks Cathy
  15. Is that true? Or just your way of avoiding fast food? OMG!!!! Cathy
  16. That's really good to know, so when I eat solids, if I have egg on toast and follow it with a yogurt, it will slide it through instead of sitting there? I was hoping to use food to help slide down food that could get stuck..but I guess not??? Cathy
  17. I know this may sound weird, but I hope that happens to me! Burgers and fries are my biggest downfall..and if I can't have them, it would be a blessing. Take care Kim, Cathy
  18. Congratulations on making this life changing decision, you won't regret it! If you need anything, support, questions answered, we are all right here for you. Take care and let us know when the big day is! Cathy =D>
  19. I hate you!! Just kidding....I am glad you recovered so well....some of us, not so fast...but getting there!! Take care, Cathy
  20. No it's not cheating, it's all in moderation. I certainly intend to have a burger and fries when I can eat solid food, and will follow your advice and order a kids meal. I have alot of weight to lose and cannot do that living on burgers and fries, but for a treat in moderation is okay. I do hear you, deprivation is my bigger problem with losing weight, if I deprive myself of the things I love, I will fail and binge...and I don't want to do that! Cathy
  21. Blend it and add some water...it will go through!!!! Enjoy!! Cathy
  22. Yes, yes, yes, for the first week I walked like I was 80 and had the worst back pain ever!! When the surgeon removed the tape from my incisions, I was re-born, it was the tightness of the tape that was preventing me from stretching or sitting normally and of course the swelling. I still have alot of tenderness at the port site, I cannot bend directly over, I was told not to. I have and can feel the port. Crouch down or bend sideways...or get someone else to pick it up for you!!LOL!! That's what I do. No lifting for 6 weeks anything over 20 lbs. You'll do fine, you are recovering from major surgery, just take it easy! Take care Cathy
  23. That's incredible! Good for you! I totally agree with you, I spent 15K to have surgery done here in Ontario CA, and there is no way I am going to let a french fry or burger ruin all that, it's just not worth it. I will admit I did have two potato chips on the weekend, crunched them up into a paste and swallowed and I was satisfied with that. It's all in moderation. I calculate everything I buy or put into my mouth now...becoming anal about calories, fat grams, everything...if the calories are too high per serving, I don't buy it. I am hoping my family will start to get healthy too as a result of buying healthier food choices. Congrats Cedartown!!! Cathy
