  1. Sorry to hear that Erin, it's not unusual, and could be attributed to the anesthetic. Do you have anti-nausea medication? If not, get some. My surgeon asked me if I had nausea at my post-op visit, luckily I have not, but he said vomiting, especially so soon after surgery is not a good thing for your band. I hope you feel better soon....take some Zantac, it works great! Take care, Cathy
  2. Thanks Lisa Can I start working on my arms and legs now? I understand we can't do any ab work for 3 months, but can I work other areas without causing problems in the abdominal area? Take care and enjoy the summer weather! Cathy
  3. Try not to get too frustrated, like the girls said your body is adjusting and my surgeon told me not to expect weight loss between surgery and my first fill. I am not on solid food yet, but expect that once I am, my body with need to do some adjusting and I may gain some weight back. As long as you are sticking to the plan, you are winning!!! Get out the measuring tape, I bet the numbers are great there!!! You are doing so well...keep up the good work! Cathy
  4. Thanks CMarie, You are describing exactly what I am experiencing. I think it's drinking cold drinks before I eat. When I follow eating with another cold drink or popcicle it seems to go away, weird eh? I will keep an eye on it and let my surgeon know if it continues. I get full very quickly even though I am only 12 days post op. I am hoping things loosen up a little before my fill appt on Julyl 16th or I won't need one?? After I eat my breakfast around 9 a.m., I usually don't eat anything until 12:30 p.m. and have a yogurt or pudding at about 3:30 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m...I am still on creamy soups with little chunks, so they can sit pretty heavy in the belly. I can hear the bandsters wishing they had restriction screaming now!!LOL!! Sorry guys! Let me know how you are doing and what the magic method is to get rid of it...take care, Cathy
  5. That's great, having a supportive husband, is half the battle! Good Luck! Cathy
  6. Sorry to hear that you are stressed, I feel your pain, my 10 years old is very high strung and has temper tantrums. He actually had a major one on Friday night and I grabbed my bag and took a drive to relax, by the time I got back it had blown over. Lisa's suggestions sound great....I will definitely try that soup. I still have two cartons of beef broth from my post-op diet week. Feel better and take deep breaths! Take care, Cathy
  7. I am sorry KarenLynn that you had to endure the negativity of people who don't know any better! There are going to be people who will not be supportive and those who will jump through hoops for you! I have told only the people who are my biggest supporters and chose not to tell those who I might feel would not be. I haven't even told my own sister. As you can see we are one big supportive family here on the forum and they all have great senses of humour. I laughed so hard!! You keep strong and you know you always have our support right here! Cathy >
  8. Hi Lisa, I haven't seen you on for awhile, I hope all is well. I am doing great...on the mend and still on my creamy soup diet..I am losing weight even w/o a fill, so I am happy about that! I do have a question related to plastic surgery...I know a TT is in the future, but do not want surgery on my arms or legs. What did you do to to firm up your arms and legs? Take care hon! ttys Cathy
  9. Thanks Jacqui1 I haven't had my first fill yet, I'm only 12 days post op. I will monitor it and let the surgeon know if it proposes any problems. Cathy
  10. Welcome!!! Jann could not have said it better!! Best of Luck! Cathy
  11. Hi Paula Bee, I haven't had my first fill yet and I am only 12 days post op, but I can relate. I eat until I feel full and stop, about 2-3 hrs later I feel hungry again, I usually bring a yogurt or unsweetened pudding with me for a mid-meal snack. Can you snack? My diet plan right now says I can. When I am on solid food, I am hoping I won't need to, but if I do, I will make sure it's a healthy one. I am sure if you have a healthy snack in between, you will be fine. Take care, Cathy
  12. You said it...I don't get to have solid food until July 11th...4 weeks of creamy soups and mush! YUCK!!! Cathy
  13. Welcome and congratulations on your decision! You will find this forum so informative and supportive. Best of Luck! Cathy
  14. Thanks Darlene, it usually goes away after awhile of sipping water, I just found it kind of weird. It's not air I don't think, it feels more like phlem? Cathy
  15. Does anyone else have this sensation? I am 11 days post op and still on creamy soups, but often feel a lump in my throat after eating. I have never experienced this before just wondering if it's common or a phenomena? Thanks Cathy
  16. Congrats on your surgery date, you won't regret it! Cathy =D>
  17. I love watermelon too!! Can you blend it! LOL!! Cathy :-?
  18. Good Luck to you...let us know how you make out! Safe trip and cheers to your new healthier and thinner life!!!! Cathy >
  19. Hi Jann, I mash it with a fork or my blender and heat it....it is fairly mushy and goes down fine. Cathy
  20. Thanks MamaMichelle, that is great information! To Amy...good for you! To DiamondJim...that is fabulous news! Best of luck on another year of good health! Cathy
  21. Good for you!!!! Great news...and great advice! Cathy =D>
  22. I am sorry to hear that you are starving...are still on the clear liquid stage or creamy soup stage? If you are into the creamy soup stage, try a can of cream of potato soup mixed with 1/2 can of cream of cheese/cheddar soup, spice it up with garlic, herbs, whatever you want, mix it up and heat it and it is very filling. If you are still on clear liquids, jello might help. Good luck and feel better soon! Cathy >
  23. Thanks Paula, that's really good to know! Cathy
  24. I used to have extremely heavy periods and had an IUD put in, in December and haven't had a period in the past 2 months, and since surgery I have been spotting non-stop. I think it's the anesthetic, the trauma and change in my metabolism and eating habits. I have done a total 360 from what I used to eat, which probably had very little nutritional value, to eating healthy and taking vitamins...my body is saying "WHAT THE HELL!!!!". I am sure the cycles will regulate over time. Take care girls! Cathy
  25. Hi Blazn, I was banded in Mississauga, ON, Canada. I have another week of liquids, but spoke with the patient coordinator today and she said I could try soups with chunks and chew well. Next Saturday I graduate to mushy/blended foods for two weeks and start on solids on July 11th (my Mom's birthday). It's really tough not crunching anything...I have canker sores on my tongue and my teeth are becoming sensitive. My nutritionist said the cankers could be B12 or protein deficiency, so I have to go out and get some protein powder to add to my food. I already knew I had a B12 deficiency before my surgery and have to get monthy shots. I will go next week to get my shot. The gargle I bought today is helping, so that's a relief! Although I crave solid food, I am afraid of PBing...I guess by the time July 11th roles around, I will be saying" the hell with it" and eating!!!LOL!! Take care and have a great weekend! Cathy
