  1. Thanks Blazn, it sounds amazing...I will check for the WW desserts this weekend...ice cream I can have!!! Cathy
  2. I can totally relate...I felt restriction after a small amount of creamy soup, yogurt or pudding, but yesterday I needed to eat more soup to feel that restriction. Tonight I had some chili, blend a little, for dinner and chewed like crazy and barely got through 1/3 of the cup before feeling full. I guess it comes and goes. I expect the full feeling will dimish as the swelling subsides, I am only 10 days post op. I am able to start tommorrow on chunkier soups...yeh!! (sarcastic) I am really sick of soup and have a tongue full of canker sores...lovely! But I have lost 6 lbs since surgery, so I am happy! Take care, Cathy
  3. I was tempted to get a frosty, but didn't! Good for me! So far the chili is staying down and settling...so I am a happy girl! Have a great weekend! Cathy
  4. Thanks Jann, that's great info...that is the exact reason I chose banding over gastic bypass. Once I can exercise again, besides walking, I plan to get some weights or a home weight system to firm up my arms and legs. My tummy is too far gone, I think and will need a tummy tuck, but I want to do everything in my power to avoid having surgery on my arms and legs!! Have a great weekend, Cathy
  5. Congrats Erin, you are doing great...glad you are doing well! Cathy >
  6. I picked up burgers and fries for the kids and I picked up 2 large chilis for me from Wendy's, stocked up for the weekend. I barely made a dent in one and was full...it was a little annoying having to chew, chew, chew, but it was soooo much better than the cream soup. Thanks for the great suggestion Will T, it was just what I needed!! Cathy =D>
  7. Kimmie don't beat yourself up...you have been doing fantastic! Consider it a treat only, and get back on track to your goal!! I am so sure that all of us have eaten things that we shouldn't have and too much of it....we are human...but keep the goal in mind and you will succeed!! Have a great weekend!! Cathy P.S. I am sure Cedartown is human too!
  8. Well it's been a busy first week back to work since my surgery and I just want to rest and deligate cleaning and laundry to the boys. Enjoy your weekend everyone!!! >
  9. Thanks Miltrez, I survived, I am now 10 days post op and on creamy soups...so far so good!! Good luck with your journey! Cathy
  10. That's everyone, you have been wonderfully supportive as usual!!! I did fine...I drank some water, cuddled with my hubby and went to bed. Today, I am busy with meetings and work and am just getting to eat lunch now...and cream of potato and cheddar tastes good!! You are the most awesome bunch and I truly appreciate every one of you, I can't wait until we all have before and after pics to share!!! Driven to Succeed!!! Cathy
  11. Hi YorkieMommy, I was on two weeks liquids with Optifast 900 pre-op, post op I was on 4 days of clear liquids, on Jun 14 I started on full liquids (creamy soups, yogurt and puddings) for two weeks, on June 28th I start blended/mushy foods for two weeks and start on solids as of Friday July 11th. My surgeon feels this is the best method to ensure healing. But it's getting tough.
  12. Thanks Will T, I will treat myself tommorrow night for dinner!!! Great suggestion!
  13. Thanks Julie...unfortunately, my diet is plan is different from the OCC...I have one more of week of creamy soups then I'm on mushy/blended foods for another 2 weeks...no solids until July 11th...first fill July 16th. I would settle for lumpy mash potatoes right now! Oh and chew and spit or chip licking..is not cheating...as long as you don't swallow it...avoid it if you can...it doesn't break the habit!
  14. I am getting really tired being on a liquid diet for almost 4 weeks now...OMG!!! I want to chew something soooo bad!!! I am trying my damndest not to chew and spit or become a chip-licker, but it's getting tough. I am a snacker...I confess and my life resolved around snacking in the evening. I am not hungry...I just want to snack...I am a snack-addict!!! AHHHH!!! I had some jello, not satisfying, had a little more creamy soup...now I'm full....so it's not hunger...it's habit! I am trying so hard to stay on course, it's really important to me, more important that chips and dip. Thanks for letting me vent...I vow not to cheat and keep my grip on reality. Cathy
  15. Good for you Jann, keep up the great work!! You Rock!! Cathy =D>
  16. Sorry for your troubles today...anytime you need a shoulder, we're here. Turn to us instead of the fridge or cupboard...you'll be glad you did! Take care, Cathy
  17. Great news! Good for you....twoville is a good thing...I am so excited for you. I am doing 10 lbs goals myself...I started in the 280's, went down to the 270's and now I am in the 260's...looking forward to the 250's, just 4 lbs away!!! Best of luck on your journey!! Banded together for life! Cathy

  21. Sorry to hear you are in pain. I was banded June 10th, the gas pain subsided about a few days, not to say that I don't still have gas, I definitely do, but it doesn't hurt anymore. I slept for the first time on my side last night and was up 3 times to stretch. I was sleeping practically sitting up on about 7 pillows right after surgery and for a week, with the neck roll as a pillow and did just fine. Feel better soon! Cathy
  22. OMG!!!! I would spit nails! That is not acceptable...obviously it was faulty and you had nothing to do with that...it's not like you can damage the port by overeating??? Even if you did??? I would be making some pretty big demands and going right to the top! Good luck sweetie!! Cathy
  23. I know!!! I was drinking bottles and bottles of water on my pre-op diet and now, I can barely get a bottle down. I don't want to gulp it because I get gas bubbles in chest...so I sip all day long, but in end I am not drinking nearly enough. What's a girl to do??? Cathy
  24. Try reducing the starches, wrap, rice, noodles and see if that helps! Also, the scale may not be telling the whole story..have you measured yourself..how do your clothes fit? Good luck hon...you can do it...don't let the numbers rule you!!! Cathy
  25. Welcome Sylvia!!! You are making the right decison!! I can't advise you on your trip to OCC...I had my surgery here in Canada. I have heard wonderful things about the OCC and you will do great!!! I am sure you will find a fellow bandster-to-be to meet up with you along the way! Take care, Cathy :-h
