  1. Wow, you did amazing on pre-op, good for you! I am glad all went well...welcome to your new life! Cathy >
  2. Creamy soups, yogurt and puddings is what I am on for a month...no hon it won't stretch your pouch at all. You need to eat these types of foods to feel fullness...broth and clear liquids are running right through and won't make you feel full. Try a bowl of soup and I assure you, you will feel some tightness...and when you do, stop eating. Enjoy! Cathy
  3. Hi there, Cheryl is right, I am not on solids yet, just banded on June 10th. I was feeling restriction very quickly after eating anything (creamy soups, yogurt, pudding) and would be full until the next meal...it's starting to change and I am not full after eating my bowl of soup right away, so I waited about 10 minutes and had a yogurt...then I really felt the restriction. So take your time eating...take a little break inbetween to let the food settle and if you don't feel the restriction of starting to get full, have a little more and stop when you feel tightness. You are doing great!!! Enjoy real food! Cathy >
  4. Okay guys, no visuals!!! Thanks great Jena!! See it's not always about the number on the scale....put away the scales and take out the measuring tape!!! You go girl!! Cathy =D>
  5. Thanks everyone! I did go back to work on Monday, I was tired afterwards, but glad I did it. I am getting sick of creamy soups though, and need to find a fabulous, melt in your mouth, out of this world with flavour, soup! I have seen, cream of potato, creamy carrot and torilla soup on this forum. Does anyone else have a fabulous soup they want to share? Have a great day! Cathy
  6. I am newly banded so can't really comment on port issues yet, but if the port is faulty or was damaged by a fill at OCC, they should absorb the cost of replacement...it's not like you did something to it??? Let us know how things go. Take care, Cathy
  7. That's fabulous...I can't wait to get to 170's...just 90 lbs to go!!! That's wonderful, I am so happy for you! =D> Cathy
  8. Just one more week to go and you can eat...you are sooo lucky! I was banded on June 10th here in Canada and I cannot eat solid food until July 11/08....creamy soups then mushy food for another 3 weeks, if I can do it, you can do! You go girl!!! Cathy P.S. Cedartown, I am very proud of you!
  9. Perfect!!! You are dong so great..keep up the good work!! Cathy =D>
  10. That's great!! I only want the bra's band to get too big..I want the cups to remain the same....already had the reduction...don't want to have to have implants! How ironic would that be!!LOL!! Cathy
  11. Hi Denise, I think you're right, I have a six week schedule...1-4 day post op-clear liquids, 2 weeks of creamy soups, yogurt, pudding, 2 weeks of mushy food, mashed potatoes, blended foods and then 1-2 weeks of soft solids, eggs, fish etc. So actually on July 11, it's soft solids. I will double check with my clinic when July roles around to make sure of the order of food...because they said I would be on solid food by the time I get my first fill on July 16th. Take care, Cathy
  12. Hello, I had my post op check up today and all is healing well. My weight loss is going well so far, considering I am eating 1% of what I used to!!LOL!! I start on solid on July 11th and get my first fill on July 16th. I am feeling well, still a little tender, itchy and tired, but looking forward to a whole new life!!! Now I am excited!!! =D> Cheers to all! Cathy
  13. I am exactly where you are shrty835, I try not to bend, because it causes discomfort in the port area. My surgeon said today, that any tingling or discomfort is normal healing. You have no redness or fever, so you are probably right, just overdoing it a little. Take it easy! Cathy
  14. I just got back from my post-op visit with my surgeon and he explained to me why we are on liquids and mushy foods for a month instead of solid food. He said that it allows your stomach the time to let the band make a permanent imprint and heal the band into place, to avoid slippage or movement. I know how difficult it is, I have 8 days post op and soup is getting kind of sickening, I need to spice them up a bit!! I don't want to chew and spit or become a chip licker, but if you have to do it to get through, lick anything you want but don't swallow it, it can cause damage to your stomach and your band. Like Jena said, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on track! It will be worth it and you are too!! Cathy
  15. I agree, you aren't eating as much as I am on post-op creamy soup diet. The other ladies have suggested healthy meals and I think you will find they will fill you up! So..we are telling you to...have more food!! You don't want to be starving or risk your body going into starvation mode. Take care, Cathy
  16. Oh my dear Paula, I am so sorry to see you so upset...you have some pretty big decisions to make over the next week or so. I wish I could give you a big hug!! (.) I hope you feel better soon! Cathy XO
  17. You can do, it's just one more day!! Distractions...when you feel like you want to eat something, go for a walk, drink a bottle of water, get on the computer and email people. Distraction is huge, mind over matter. I really notice that at work..I am used to snacking all day long at work...and now I only eat my breakfast and lunch and try not to eat anything in between unless I feel hungry and it's been really challenging..but it's also been worth it. I am down 21 lbs from my decision weight and it's just the beginning! Best of luck on Friday, let us know how you make out! Take care Cathy
  18. My patient coordinator told me that she was not so much concerned about my weight loss on the scale, but reducing my liver. As long as you are following the prescribed diet and your liver is being reduced, even it's not showing up on the scale, you should be fine! Good luck hon, and let us know how everything goes! Cathy
  19. Hi there, I have been having clam chowder and cream of potato soup with chunks...I remove the clams but eat the potatoes, I chew them into paste before I swallow and so far so good. My surgeon said the area for food to pass through is still fairly large right now. I tried a new blend tonight. 1 can of Campbell's Cream of Potato Soup 1/2 can of Campbell's Cream of Cheese Soup 1/2 cup skim milk Blend if you don't chunks or stir if you do Heat and Serve Oh my goodness it was good. Four days into my creamy soup diet and I am starting to get inventive. Enjoy, Cathy
  20. Hi ladies, I take Jamieson VitaVim Multi-Chewables, Cherry flavor and I consider them dessert right now! LOL!! They taste good. I also take Jamieson B12 Desolvable Strips and they aren't too bad either. Do you get Jamieson products in the U.S.? Cathy
  21. I had some popcicles during my pre-op and did just fine...consider it a treat to get you through! Cathy
  22. Thanks Blazn, it worked!! You rock!! Cathy
