  2. That sounds wonderful..good for you!!! Cathy
  3. Hi Dianna, It's tough, but you can do it...everyday gets a bit easier...and the weight loss is your reward!! You are doing amazing, keep up the good work! Cathy =D>
  4. When you ate the tortillas did they go down okay, I am in the creamy soup stage and I am even afraid to eat anything chunky. I know I can chew more solid foods like crazy and the surgeon said my band is quite open, but I am afraid to risk it. I don't think I will, after reading about the PB horror today, I am much more cautious. Were they good? I love tortilla chips w/salsa..yummy!!! Cathy
  5. Hi Kim, What's the sticky post? Is there a separate area on the forum to enter the info? Cathy
  6. I would be so happy to be a size 10 or 12...currently 24W...was 26W at my highest weight. I am going to set a conservative goal and then we'll see what happens!!! Cathy
  7. Very nice!!! I can't wait to see it on you in a month! Cathy
  8. Do you know how many calories it would be? It sounds yummy! Cathy
  9. Okay you guys, I laughed so hard, I almost blew a stitch, literally! You are too funny...vodka's good! Cathy
  10. I had my surgery done here in Ontario Canada and the procedure took much longer than it does at the OCC and based on the info I have seen on this forum, recovery has been much quicker as well. Not sure what the difference is? My surgeon is a specialist in this field and has performed thousands of lapband surgeries. My surgery was 1.5 hrs long and there is no way in h*ll I would have been shopping the next day, I could barely walk. I am assuming the procedure is performed a little differently in TJ than in US or Canada, less time under anesthetic would make a huge difference too! Cathy
  11. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! YOU ARE DOING GREAT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Cathy
  12. Sounds and looks yummy!! I have pudding cups and jello on hand, hmmmm blend! Thanks for the great idea! Cathy
  13. I don't have my first real meal until July 21, but I think I will make Salsa chicken. Chicken breast in baking dish, cover with mild salsa, it keeps the chicken moist and flavourful served over a little rice. You can chop the chicken before cooking or after. Yummy!!!! There are so many good choices, good luck narrowing one down! Cathy
  14. Glad things are moving your way! I was told by my surgeon not to expect weight loss until after my first fill, but luckily I have been able to get back down to my pre-op weight. I gained 7 lbs with the surgery which is normal, considering the water retention and swelling. Like Lisa said, we will all meet our goals...and it's not a race...slow and steady is better...then it stays off and you have an opportunity to firm up the skin. Hurrah for you! Cathy
  15. Not a real beer drinker, but starting to miss my carbonated diet soda...I may have to put some in a cup and flatten out when I really crave it! Caesar's are good!!! Cathy
  16. You look so beautiful! I love that dress...and you look amazing in it! Glad the numbers are moving for you...Cathy
  17. LMAO!! That's hilarious...well I guess it could happen, everything is shrinking right? I guess you may need to revamp your access....have a great day! Cathy
  18. Thanks letsdothis! I am trying to only eat 1/2 cup at a time, and feel full very quickly. I am still very gassy and wonder if alot of my discomfort is gas, not full?? I guess you are right, I will listen to my body and stop when I have that feeling and only eat when I'm hungry. I hope you are feeling well...you were banded the day before me...I am on the mend, hoping to go back to work tommorrow, but still tire very easily and have alot of discomfort at the port site. Take care, Cathy
  19. Hi Paula Bee, I would think that the band and port are durable enough to withstand the facts of life. People are going to get colds, flus, sinus infections and I would hope that it was taken into consideration way back when the lapband was first used for WLS. I get sinus infections and bronchitis myself. I also recall on the day surgery film, that they want you to cough, it expells fluid from your lungs, it's a good thing. I will get in touch with my patient coordinator tommorrow and ask her how coughing affects the band. Cathy
  20. I told very few people myself, only the people closest to me and who I could count on for support without scrutinization. I told them upfront, that it was a personal decision, I am telling you because I trust you to support me through the good and bad. I don't need a hawk watching over me, but if I ask for that, I know they'll be there. My sons are actually the worst for that, they watch everything I eat and say, should you be having that? Not so much now that I am banded, because I am on the strictest of diets. Sometimes you need that, sometimes you don't. I would chose to tell the people who will support you no matter what. Best of luck! Cathy
  21. I am sorry to hear that you have been stressed. It's scarey how stress affects to body eh? I have a very stressful life myself, my youngest son is a challenge and causes me a great deal of stress, I guess I am going to have to try some breathing exercises and walk away from it. for awhile. I certainly don't want stress to impede my goal. Good luck hon! Cathy
  22. I started on the creamy soup stage yesterday and could barely get in 1/2 of what I am allowed, before feeling pressure. I stopped eating, but within just a couple of hours my stomach was hurting so bad due to emptiness, so I am also questioning whether or not I was full or whether it was pressure or gas. Last night before bed, again my stomach hurt sooo bad, so I had an unsweetened pudding and slept like a baby. I guess time will tell and listening to my body for signals is key. Cathy
  23. I agree Jann, Although I am waiting for the Cassie episode to come on again, as I have not seen it yet. I am not a real Oprah fan. I actually had a dream last and it was prompting me to go on the internet and search for problems associated with the band, I woke up and thought to myself, I am not going to do that! I don't want to know anything negative, it will stress me out. I will take things as they come and deal with it! Cathy
  24. Listen to your surgeons recommendations, I was allowed to start the creamy soup stage on Day 4 post op (yesterday) and all is well! Cathy
