  1. Thanks ladies, I had some shredded wheat this morning soaked in skim milk and blended to less than oatmeal consistency..I added some sweetener and yum, yum!! It wasn't stringy or hard by the time I got through with it, so I think it will be okay. Cathy
  2. Glad to hear that all went well with the fills, well sort of. I wonder if it might be worth checking into going somewhere else. They don't sound very nice there and the needle shouldn't hurt. Is there anywhere else close to you? Maybe you won't need another, who knows!! Best of luck!! Cathy
  3. I have both, the Skinny Cow's are only 50 calories, but not as big or as creamy. I love fudgecicles..it's like eating chocolate without the guilt!! Cathy
  4. I was banded on June 10th with a 4cc, here in Ontario Canada. Not sure why different sizes are used, but they told me I have the smallest one...surpised me...I am not a small girl!!! Cathy
  5. That's what I had, in apple and cinnamon, I also bought the Maple and Brown Sugar, the consistency was like paste and tasted totally disgusting...I am going to try Shredded Wheat made mushy with warm skim milk and make it has runny as I can. Cathy
  6. I love it!!!! And you actually got it on...that's amazing!!! You are doing so well...that's wonderful! Cathy
  7. Thanks! I look forward to the road trip with you and anyone else who wants to hop in!!! My actual car is a blue Mazda 3-Zoom Zoom...if I can find a blue car on the ticker, we'll be going in style in a blue car. Cathy
  8. That's a fabulous idea...darn it my son sold his WII!!! I may have to go get another one, JUST FOR ME!!! Have fun! Cathy
  9. If the numbers on the scale increase, that's your punishment. If they don't you're redeemed! Keep up the good work, I know it's hard, but it's worth it! Cathy
  10. I ordered it from Amazon.com and haven't had a chance to read it, but I will, I hear it's very good! Cathy
  11. Yes Tadpole, emotional and psychological eating is 99% of the battle with the band. We are conditioned to be able to eat whatever we want, although most of us have dieted before, having the band is different. You are challenged many times during the process. You must be emotionally and psychologically prepared to do it. The band is a tool which works in conjunction with healthy eating. Although there are times, you will have little restriction and could probably eat whatever you want, it's best to stick to the protein, veggies, grains and fruit plan that the surgeon will recommend. That way, if you need to eat more to feel satified, you are still eating healthy and your weight won't go up. If you find that when your stressed or upset or even happy, you like to eat...have food on hand to satisified the need. Good foods, like chopped veggies or fruit, yogurt or pudding, you can grab and go. I am going to try it on my own for now, been banded just 4 days, but if I need help, I will be seeking a counsellor to help me overcome my emotional eating, and there is no shame in that. The goal is to lose weight, whatever it takes to meet that goal, do it!!! And we will be here to support you the whole way!! Take care, Cathy
  12. Thanks! Feeling full and stopping!! Cathy
  13. Thanks everyone! I still didn't get an answer on what grits are? What about shredded wheat softened with warm skim milk and sugar sweetener...can I have that? I can handle that, love shredded wheat!! Cathy
  14. Confessions: I treatedt myself to a manicure and pedicure today to treat myself for making through the pre-op and first 4 days of post-op diet. I had my first bowl of creamy soup, clam chowder, ate around the clams, but ate the potatoes...I chewed them like crazy, but loved eating something a little chunky. Okay, what's my punishment? Another bowl? Sorry already full after just a few spoonfuls! Is that normal? Cathy
  15. My creamy soup stage starts today too! Do you get to have peanut butter and scrambled eggs? I can't have that until I am in the mushy food stage in two weeks...and peanut butter scares me unless it's blended into something! Enjoy! Cathy
  16. I know...wallpaper paste is about what I tried to down this morning...make another variety or brand would be smoother and creamier...I don't know if I can stomach that again!! EWWWW!!! Cathy
  17. What kind and how many calories per serving? Inquiring minds want to know???? Cathy
  18. Hi Erin, I am in Canada hon! I wouldn't know where to find grits...and if I recall, I tried them once in South Carolina and didn't really like them. But thanks for the suggestion...Cathy
  19. Oh honey, I wish...I have those too, not sure what to do about that..other than lifting weights to replace the fat with muscle. But we cannot do that until 3 months post op. The last thing I want to do is have surgery to remove the wings...that would be painful...it's bad enough I have to endure another surgery in about a year or so to remove tummy skin...that's a given. Try two bottles of water, one in each hand or hand weights and exercise your arms, it can't hurt! Good luck! Cathy
  20. I had a food dream the other day too...I was busy at work and running around trying to find my car, somehow it got lost...I picked up a turkey burger and fries and put a fry in my mouth, then realized I can't have it and literally pulled it out of my throat! Weird eh!? I guess my subconscienous state is learning too! LOL!!! Dreaming is good, it means you are having a restful REM sleep and dreaming of the foods we cannot have is ever better! Take care, Cathy
  21. Hi Erin, I actually found giving up diet coke during the pre-op diet quite easy...I however did not completely quit smoking...and my surgeon was okay with that. Yours at the OCC may not be. I told him I would cut down before surgery, but could not guarantee giving it up completely, he understood that and I didn't want to risk becoming homicidal!! LOL!! Do the best you can, it will be worth it. Cathy
  22. Congrats!! Hope you are doing well! Keep us up to date on how your are doing! Cathy
