  1. Hi Cedartown, I am so excited for you, that's fabulous...you'll hit your goal before you know it...wow from 27's to 25's in just a few weeks, you go girl! Although lets hope your tummy will let you eat some food soon. Your philosophy is bang on and you are proof it works!! Keep up the great work, I look forward to joining you in bandland on Tuesday!! Take care, Cathy
  2. That amazing, you must be doing something right? Are you hungry? I am always starving it seems, getting used to it now, I guess. I am down 10 lbs in 10 days...surgery is Tuesday. Good luck with your surgery on Friday!! Cathy
  3. I am sorry things are tough for you right now. A couple of ladies have suggested counselling to help with the addiction to food, I think this is a great idea! I am going to look into this as well to help me once I am banded. Best of luck! Cathy
  4. Hi Ladies, I had heard 15 years...but don't quote me....I will check with my surgeon when I have surgery on Tuesday and let you all know!!! Cathy
  5. You have done amazing and are my hero!! I love the pics...keep it up girl you are rocking it! Thanks for your well wishes, I will keep everyone up to date next week...take care Cathy
  6. I have been told they estmate 5% of your body weight...I was 280, 5% = 14 lbs. My surgeon did not say how much to lose, just do the pre-op plan for two weeks. I have been on Optifast shakes at least 2-3 per day, lean cuisine and non-starch veggies...I have lost 10 lbs in 10 days!! Good luck!! Cathy
  7. I asked about food getting stuck yesterday when I spoke to my patient coordinator again...and she said chew chew chew, even tablets, cut food really small and things shouldn't get stuck. Bread is not a good choice this soon, too doughy. She also recommended at the very beginning to eat food that's kind of slimey until your throat and stomach get used to solid food. Good luck, you'll do just great!!! Cathy
  8. That's amazing!! I actually dug out some summer clothes last night from my " summer clothes that are too tight bin" and tried some of the tops on tonight and most of them fit!! After a few more weeks on my post-op liquid diet, they will fit even better! It was like shopping in my bedroom, how cool is that! I am super inspired now! 5 days to go!! Cathy
  9. I agree as well, Weight Watchers does work, my sister-in-law was very successful! Good luck! Cathy
  10. Congratulations!! Get some rest and welcome to your new life!!! Mine officially begins next Tuesday! Take care, Cathy
  11. Fabulous Blazn...you look amazing!! More pics please!!! Come on ladies, here is your chance to brag!!! Cathy
  12. Hi Ladies, I just love seeing the before, during and after pics...we've seen Michelle, Kimmie, Evette and LisaL.....anyone else want to brag? Here's your chance!! Thanks Cathy
  13. Hi there, I believe it was me! I went to Amazon.com and order Lapband for Life from Dr. Ortiz $19.99 as well as two cookbooks. "Cookin' For Weight Loss Surgery Patients" by Dick Stucki -$16.95 and "Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery' by Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray.-$11.53. I am looking foward to cooking up some of the recipes when I am able to eat post op. Get them they are great! Cathy
  14. Go back into the web site fresh from the internet and reset all of your ticker info...I have had to do over a few times. Cathy
  15. Have you checked into insurance coverage for WLS? If you chose not to have WLS....and want to diet on your own....try two shakes (Slim Fast, Boost Diabetic etc) per day for breakfast and lunch. Add a snack of non-starch veggies in for a snack and a lean cuisine for dinner. Drink tons of water all day long, cut out the diet pop/soda, it cancels out the water and inhibits weight loss. Try this for a week or two and let us know how it's working for you. You will feel hungry...eat veggies for snacks. Good luck! Cathy
  16. Hi there, I am on Optifast 900...4 shakes per day at 225 cal. each...I can replace a shake with non-starch veggies. I have been replacing a shake with a lean cuisine and still lost 9 lbs in one week. I would take in at least 900 calories, if you take in too little, you won't lose weight as quickly, as your body could go into starvation mode. Best of luck...you can do it!!!! Cathy
  17. All the best to the June 10th Bandsters!!! I will be having my surgery here in Ontario Canada on that day too!!! Let us know how everything goes! Cathy
  18. Congratulations!! Keep us up to date on how you are doing! My date is June 10th...I am really nervous, but excited too!! Take care, Cathy
  19. I am not a great cook either, hate it actually, but did buy from Amazon.com two fabulous Post WLS cookbooks, the recipes are sooo easy anyone can do it! My doctor also suggested seeing a nutritionist for some counselling, which I thought was a great idea! You have lost weight and that's a huge accomplishment! Good luck! Cathy
  20. 12 lbs in two weeks! Good for you! Keep up the great work! Cathy
  21. I am so sorry, I had do put my kitty down after 15 years not too long ago...and it's very difficult. Thinking of you! Cathy
  22. Great postings from Dr. O!!! As said before...the info on this forum is immeasurable! Cathy
  23. Thanks Renee, You are so right, we are all different, our lives, our bodies, but our goal is the same! The best part about this forum is the success stories and the answers to our questions. All the best, Cathy
